I ordered the almond chicken and the Kung Pao chicken. Both were delicious. Kung Pao had lots of chicken a rich savory sauce with just the right amount of spice and the almond chicken had a great gravy with really good flavor (and I've tried just about every almond chicken in the whole city), it was actually like a gravy and less like a sauce which I loved and the chicken was really clean with an excellent crispy coating. The egg rolls were delicious they had plenty of meat in them could have used a little more cabbage but I prefer the meat over the veggie. The portions were huge three people could eat on one order so you definitely get your money's worth. And it's fairly price in the lady who works the front counter is always very friendly. When you see where it's located you feel like it's not in the best area but it's safer than it looks. I was not super fond of the crab cheese there was just too many onions in it but it was really full of cream cheese and had a nice crisp and a delicious sweet and sour dipping sauce. read more

My girlfriends and I ate here often when we worked at Shively Bros. on Grand Traverse. After I retired and moved to Clio, I drive to China City for my food. The only Chinese restaurant we go to. Well worth the drive!! We love the Orange Chicken, Chicken with Broccoli, Sweet and Sour Chicken all with Shrimp fried rice. Have never had a bad meal and there is so much food. You definitely get your moneys worth. We are able to eat on it for at least 2 days.I recommend China City to everyone!!! read more

This use to be my go to Chinese carry out place. I usually ordered the shrimp fried rice with shrimp egg rolls and I really enjoyed it. The service at this place was always great especially if it was Ming or King helping you. I would often leave with a line of people waiting behind me because Ming and I would BS for a few minutes after giving me my food. I cant give them 5 stars because the food isn't quite good enough for that although it was kinda difficult because I always get such good service and good food with a smile. Cheers! read more

I ate here for the first time and I was honestly impressed. I'm kind of picky when it comes to my Chinese food so I was very happy to find one relatively close to me and not have to make the hike to my home town to get it. I got sweet and sour chicken, chicken fried rice and crab Rangoon. The Rangoon was AMAZING. You get so much for such a small price and there's soo much inside of the wrapping. The rice was pretty good and so was the chicken and sour sauce. You get soo much food for such a reasonable price. I ate on it for about 2 full days. My only complaint is the egg rolls but i personally prefer bean sprout egg rolls, which are hard to find. So I just didn't eat it. But other than that, I loved it! read more

After hearing good things about this place my wife and I who are not really big fans of Chinese food decided to stop by and give this place a try . The egg rolls were served piping hot and had a nice flavor to them. My Kung Pao Chicken had a bit of heat to it but seemed to be lacking flavor. So I guess I would call it Boring hot rather than hot and spicyl.. My wife enjoyed her combo subgum dinner and agrees with me about the eggrolls. My review is mostly based on the egg rolls alone. They are the best.period. Most days (since they are made to order) I am completely satisfied as they're always served piping hot, even by the time you get home. They feature a perfectly fried crunchy wonton, tightly wrapped around what is the most savory egg roll filling you're going to find anywhere else in the state. They actually take the time to enhance the ingredients by using Chinese spices that make your taste buds dance and wonder...what in the world is that?? I personally like to add even more pizzazz with some hot mustard, but plum sauce is a great accompaniment too. I myself am satisfying eating just their chicken or shrimp fried rice and of course, an egg roll(s). My friends and family rave about the Szechuan Spicy Chicken and Pepper Steak. Oh and I can't leave out the crab cheese. They give you a healthy serving of cream cheese and crab in each triangular shaped wonton. Every payday, one of my coworkers runs to China City with orders from the whole office. We are constantly counting down the days until the next Chinese day! My FAVORITE thing is L32, which is the Szechuan combo lunch special that comes with beef, chicken, shrimp, and veggies in a really amazing Szechuan sauce and fried rice! If you're fighting off a runny nose, get it extra spicy - it'll clear your sinuses out! Also the Szechuan chicken on its own is incredible! The honey chicken here is also DIVINE! The lunch portions are only about $5 and are huge, the dinners are ginormous and last many meals! Everything here is good, can't recommend it highly enough! Awesome awesome awesome!! We ordered general tso's chicken, honey garlic chicken dinners, with sides of hot and sour soup, crab ragoons, and egg rolls. Everything was hot, fresh and reasonably priced. The hot n sour soup had not only chicken, but also shrimp and large mushroom tops to go along with the usual ingredients. The chicken fried rice had extremely tender chicken pieces and crisp bean sprouts. The egg rolls were loaded with tons of shredded chicken and cabbage. The ragoons were to die for. Not too sweet, not too crabby, they were triangular which was unique for me and balance crunch and cream nicely. This will now be my families go to Chinese. Best Chinese in the Flint/Burton area by far. My three yr old who eats very little (picky) tore our platter up including the soup which ended up being his favorite part. This $28 worth of food fed my family of 5 with plenty of leftovers for tonight/tomorrow. read more
