This small restaurant in a Linden strip mall has EXCELLENT Chinese food! The difference here compared to other Chinese restaurants is that the ingredients and vegetables are very FRESH! Many Chinese restaurants have entrees with lots of sauce that can become quite pasty, not the case here. The food delivered is very fresh and ingredients and sauce offer light and tempting tastes. They are ALWAYS busy (good sign) and the staff moves people through. Cost is extremely reasonable as well. STOP BY!! read more

When you walk into this Chinese place I guarantee your first reaction is going to be "wow this place looks run down, and I have no idea what I'm getting myself into." And that is understandable, considering the way it looks inside, but do not be fooled! This place is beyond the best Chinese food I've ever had. For context I live in Howell, which is quite a drive away, but the drive is so worth it. Compared to every other Chinese place in my town, this place is always going to be worth the 30 minute drive, my grandma and grandpa LOVE LOVE LOVE this place and my grandma always craves their orange chicken. So everytime I decide to drive out to Linden for some Chinese I always pick up something for them too, my mom also loves it here just as much and the rest of my family and I. The staff is quiet and friendly, they always have the food out hot, and as soon as you get in the car you are welcomed by the strong smell of heaven. Not great anymore. I have read other reviews about a definite decline in the food, and sadly I have to agree, It is not an "off" day, it is consistently of poorer quality and taste. The portions are good size and prices are good, but the ingredients are less with more filler. Rice is dry. It seems like the pride this place once had is gone. The prices here are unbeatable, I have yet to find a place with more affordable Chinese food. You can get really sizable lunch meals here for only $6.50. It's not the "highest quality" ingredients but it's a perfect budget-friendly option for some quick takeout. The staff is friendly and very quick with service. They are always pretty busy but they still get you in and out quickly. A lot of times there is free green tea while you wait. The food is consistent as well. read more

I would have emailed China Garden to express some disappointment, but they don't have one. First of all, they have great food and we've ordered from them for years. I picked up an order for dinner tonight. Part of the order was their House Special Fried Rice. It has always been made using brown rice, which has been one of my favorites. Good sized portions, but again, flavor was as basic as a Campbell soup casserole... and, what is the deal with water chestnuts in so many dishes? Too bad it is the only Asian place in town. House special Lo Mein was pretty good, shrimp were not overcooked. The fried rice was fair, more like rice with vegetables and pork not really fried. The eggroll was the real downer, not much to it, mostly wrapper. Orange chicken was decent. All in all better than most of the alternatives in Fenton but not exactly top quality chinese. I don't know where to start.... fried rice is not fried rice. I ordered Kung pao chicken they gave me chicken nuggets. My husband ordered some sort of beef and noodle which had zero taste. Owners have always been extremely pleasant and all employees are very nice and friendly to deal with. Prices are reasonable and food always comes out fresh and great tasting. I've ordered a wide range of food this restaurant offers and I can report everything has tasted great thus far. This is mostly a take-out location, but they do offer 2-3 tables inside that sit 2-4 people comfortably at each table. They are extremely quick, quick enough that I can easily get it, eat, and still have some lunch break left (and I only get 30 minutes). I've been down the menu a bit: almond chicken, orange chicken, honey chicken, etc., and it's all really good. Their General Tso's is the best I've had around the area.
