Have been going here for 30+ years and they must be under new ownership. Food is nowhere near as good as it used to be. They went from having the best egg rolls to the worst. Even the smell is bad. I'm very sad and disappointed. The chicken fried rice went from having large pieces of chicken to tiny cubed ones. The sweet and sour sauce is just like every other Chinese restaurant now. And the chicken for the sweet and sour chicken is not fresh anymore either. Little round balls instead of actual chunks of chicken. I really hate to do this. Up until the new owners purchased it a few months ago, the food quality was excellent. Fresh cut, hand breaded/battered meat. Seafood was fresh. It's been cheapened and is the same as every small town, strip mall, factory mass produced breaded frozen chicken balls and sugar water sauce. It's a real real real shame. First time ordering and the last. Food was ok, but the service was terrible. We ordered and were told 10 to 15 minutes. When we arrived, people were waiting for almost an hour for their orders. 45 minutes to get out order. Told them when we got the order, and before leaving the counter, that it was wrong, but they argued that it was right. Told them what we ordered and they told us we were wrong. Told them we didn't want that food and we wanted a refund, with they refused to give it to us. They had terrible reviews from before, but supposedly were under new ownership. Well, maybe new owners, but nothing else has changed. Do yourself a favor and drive right by this place. read more

So sad to have to take my review from a 5 star to a 2 star. This place really has declined over the years. I think Ping retired (good for her!) but the family running it seems to have forgotten the recipes, and everything is just really bland. Their sweet & sour sauce was never good in my opinion, but it's even more watery now. I really wish Flushing had better Chinese options- because the two we have really aren't that good. I'm so use to hearing the Chinese woman on the phone and the best part about ordering is the end when she says, "5-10 minute" I am trying not to sound racist at all because believe when I tell you this woman is the icon of wing garden, she's known for her speed and she knows how to run her restaurant. When I heard a different voice on the phone I was thrown off. I just hoped that they didn't get bought out, maybe just added employees. My family jokingly calls this place Mean Lady. Because for the longest time the woman who answered the phone and took orders would just say, "What you want?... 15 minute!" But it was so worth it... I've been to every Chinese place in general area and aside from a hidden little gem on Dort Highway in Flint this is the best place around. You get a lot of food for your money, there are always a lot of fresh veggies, the eggrolls are always hot and crunchy and the chicken fried rice is so good it stands on its own as an entree. My favorite dishes there are lemon chicken, General Tso's and the chicken with peapods. I moved to Japan recently and it was one of our going-away meals and every time I visit my parents in Flushing we get Mean Lady. Note- You WILL wait longer than 15 minutes most nights! It's always pretty busy and I think they prepare meals one at a time (which really IS kind of nice- I've never had anything cold from there, it's still steaming when I get home). So gauge your time accordingly. I usually hop over to Family Video, Kroger or Walgreens while I wait to pick up a movie, drinks, etc. read more

Normally I don't review places but I was so thoughly disappointed with my recent experience at Wing Garden. I have ordered from them several times without major issues but this time was different. We had called ahead for takeout and been given the generic 15-20 minutes only to wait nearly 50 minutes. No explanation for the delay and the usual rude service were not acceptable. The food is ok. Nothing stands out but they do use a good portion of fresh veggies. It's still predominantly fried and much of the order had that old oil taste. I gave it three stars because it is still better than most of the other chinese restaurants . Don't expect to be wowed but it is serviceable in a pinch. read more

We went in one day and no one around! We sat there for awhile and got up and left! Haven't tried again.

I have only order from this crappy restaurant because of its proximity to my house, but that is about to end for good after they screwed up my order this evening. Believe me, this is an ongoing issue between myself and Wing Garden. Complaint #1: We call in our order and we are told "15-20 minutes" every time...in reality it will be 50 minutes, busy or not. I normally wait 25 minutes before I drive there then you will wait the remainder of the time because they obviously start making it after you pay for it. Calling ahead or ordering at the counter, it makes no difference. Complaint #2: Add up your order ahead of time. They basically estimate/guess your price. I have caught the owner attempting to overcharge me by at least $10 to $13 on 4 separate occasions. She gets very angry when you call her out on it. They could improve things with a modern cash register and an itemized receipt Complaint #3: They will screw up your order in all sorts of inventive ways. If you are desperate and have to get takeout here then check the order before you get in your car. They will omit eggrolls or other annoying things like forgetting those crispy things for your wonton soup even when you are very specific. In the past they have forgotten entire dinners when I was ordering large amounts for family get togethers. In my experience, every other order has been flawed as of recent...including this evenings' order. Tired of it basically. Thanks for letting me vent and review. read more

(Although I've noticed and heard of people being VERY rude to the people that work there. Which in my opinion is completely unacceptable to treat people this way, ESPECIALLY people that handle your food!!!!) This is just a small family owned takeout, I normally come a few minutes later than she tells me to over the phone; so if the wait is a big deal to you, maybe try doing that!
