We always get the Salt & Pepper Pork Chops or the Chicken Wings (likely the best wings in Temecula); Black Pepper Beef on the Sizzling Plate; Chicken with Black Bean sauce. The Tsing Tao Beer is good, cold and a good price. We have had their Chinese Roast Duck, Gyoza and other Dumplings. Having lived in Hong Kong, this is likely the most authentic tasting chinese around. They have done some recent renovations making dining in more pleasurable. We were craving crispy chicken wings and found a place in Temecula at China Chef. We ordered the shrimp chow mein, honey walnut shrimp, salt and pepper calamari and chicken. We loved the shrimp dishes, which are highly recommended. The salt and pepper dishes were not as crispy as expected and they came out a little soggy, although, I think the flavorings were good. This place is not that bad and I actually think the food we ordered was above average with an overall rating of 3.5. This is the second time I ordered the salt and pepper wings. Didn't have as much jalapeños as the first time but still was good to go. Takes me 30 minutes to get here from lake Elsinore but beats the 1 hour drive to San Diego. I've tried 10 different restaurants salt and pepper wings and this one so far has been the go to spot. Very bland food and I have no idea what the substance called "mapo tofu" on the menu was since it definitely wasn't mapo tofu. It was tofu in a brown cornstarch gravy with serrano or jalapeno peppers in it. No fermented bean paste or Sichuan pepper. No pork mince either, which is fine, maybe they were trying to make it vegetarian but to leave out the rest makes it no longer mapo tofu. read more

They put passion into those dishes. I came here yesterday and ordered xiao long bao, crab & fish maw soup, and stir fried clams with ginger and scallions. It was amazing! I'm so glad my wife found this place, because we would always have to drive all the way our to Garden Grove or Long Beach for the same dishes we want. But, this place definitelt satisfied our cravings. Crab & Fish maw soup is a really hot pleasant soup with a thick broth. You season to your liking afterwards with white pepper and soy sauce(It's supposed to be that way). Xiao Long Bao tasted amazing. It was really soupy inside full of pork juice essence. You can eat a ton of these in an instant! It is a soup dumpling, so make sure you poke a hole and let it cool a bit before you stuff the whole thing in your mouth! The wok stir fried clams tasted awesome. Tasted just like the ones I have to travel to Long Beach for. Now I don't have to, because theirs is amazing! First time visit. Small mom&pop establishment. Clean tables, clean floors and pleasant staff. Came in for Saturday lunch after shopping. Yelp lead me here, so I was curious. Ordered the lo mein (veg), salt & pepper chicken, steamed whloe bass with ginger, roast duck, and bok choy with mushrooms. Service was good and food came out hot and tasty. My favorite dishes were the steamed whole fish and veggie lo mein noodles. Everything had a balanced flavor. Nothing was too salty, too sweet or too anything ... the vegetables still had a crunch (not overcooked, like I prefer). The salt&pepper chicken, wow. Just yum! The noodles had a nice bite and the vegetables, again, had a nice crunch. The cook did a great job seasoning and sauteing all the food. Good food, decent prices and pleasant service. First time eating here dining in with my husband. Friendly environment and great service. For our drinks I got a Thai tea and a diet Pepsi. We Ordered the crab and fish maw soup which was delicious and my husband and I been searching for a place that had the crab and fish maw soup. We always go to Longbeach but now we found our new favorite spot and it's here in Temecula which is awesome. :) we also Ordered Xiao long bao which is the pork soup Dumplings and stir fried clams with ginger and scallions. The crunch is good, and they have party trays. They have a lunch combo w 6 wings, fried rice, egg drip soup, and an egg roll for $7.95. You cant go wrong w that!! Other food I've tried here is good too... like the kung pao beef, kung pao chicken, beef pepper steak, orange chicken. Server was unfriendly, room temperature was okay, some kind of music was playing too loud on a cheap poor sounding radio. Ambiance and furnishings are old liquidation quality, and the whole place is poorly maintained. Food was okay tasting but leaves you wondering if you're going to experience a food-born illness due to how filthy the place is. Looking around you have to wonder when the last time the place was actually deep cleaned. Perhaps never. Most likely never! The bathroom was the most disgustingly filthy place I have ever gone into. Perhaps instead of standing around doing nothing the employees could be wiping and disinfecting...EVERYTHING! But the restrooms... the restrooms are at an entirely different level of filthiness and need serious help. Starting with high pressure steam and disinfectant. The A rating on the window is a travesty to our health inspection process. What's the point of inspections if everyone gets an A rating? I recently saw a restaurant with an A rating and a warning label next to it indicating the restaurant was closed due to unsanitary conditions. What is going on? The last inspector should be reprimanded and the whole health department should be reorganized and retrained to protect our citizen's health and welfare. I will never consider - not even a thought about ever going back to this place. It is forever deleted from my memory banks. Yikes! read more

The special comes with an entree (you choose from an extensive list), steamed or fried rice, egg drop or hot & sour soup, and a vegetable egg roll. I enjoyed the chicken in garlic sauce, steamed rice, hot & sour soup, and of course - the vegetable egg roll. Checking-in on Yelp, I was able to redeem a free order of six cream cheese wontons - very nice. The other really cool thing was their buy-one-get-one free "sale". I bought a Sapporo...you know the rest! They were ice cold and awesome. The chicken in garlic sauce is spicy, so know that going in! Been here a few times to objectively say that this place is legit especially if you consider this is Temecula. The food here is cooked with a Cantonese touch meaning the flavors are in line with many Cantonese style restaurants I've dined in before. Just recently, I ordered the broccoli chicken and it was excellent. They cook this dish using the white sauce rather than the dark soy based sauce. The garlic was pronounced in this dish and the veggies were cooked perfectly al dente. They use chicken breast meat rather than dark meat as well. The lunch portion was really good and I felt the value was there. The lunch combo also comes with an egg roll and plenty of steam rice. If you check in with Yelp, you can also receive an order of cream cheese wontons. That alone makes me want to come back as the wontons were also very good! Once I opened the food it was kinda of disappointing I saw a small amount of seasoning on the corner of the food instead of spread all over the food.
