New York style Chinese food in Florida it doesn't get better than this. This is my second time eating here and the food is fast fresh and plentiful. Plus they don't skimp on the veggies which is also nice. Most places the noodles are too dry that is not an issue here. It's a family run business and the owner is super friendly to my kids when we came in. You'll often see her son or daughter helping out. They have even helped customers carry large orders out to their car. This place is really under rated and I have to say it's a hidden gem. If you're in the area and have a craving for some good Chinese food definitely stop by.

It's been a while since we ordered from China Chef but ordered out last week. I had a hankering for their Orange Beef, House Chow Mei Fun, and the Wonton/Egg Drop Soup. The soup is my favorite and it's not everywhere you can get Orange Beef. It really hit the spot and reminded me I should mix it up a little more often. ;) They don't deliver but they're close enough that it's not too inconvenient. I love going in there and seeing the whole family working. The kids are learning young and it reminds me of my childhood answering the phone at my grandma's transmission shop. It's adorable and a great learning opportunity for them.

China Chef has been at this location for years and honestly, for whatever reason, I have not been here in at least four or five years (probably closer to seven years). I remembered them as being ok and that they had cheap lunch specials. I decided that it was time to give them a try again. I called in my order for three people and was pleasantly surprised to hear that it would be ready in ten minutes. We had three dinner specials and an appetizer of crab rangoons. I headed over to China Chef (which is by the Walgreen's and Tijuana Flats) and as we walked in, they are still practicing COVID-19 safety practices, their tables where people once dined now form a barrier between the customers and the staff. You walk in and ban go maybe ten feet into the building. They even have a credit card machine set up there. The girl was extremely friendly and we got our food and were on our way. I fo find the food a bit expensive, especially with the portions you are getting. Nothing outrageous, but it should be noted. The lo mein dinner combos were about eleven dollars each. I had the szechuan pork. It came with an egg roll, which all three of us liked. My szechuan pork was ok, but that is about it. The fried rice was not the best. As for the crab rangoons, both my daughter and I had them. I thought they were not bad, however she did not like them. So, two differing opinions (though maybe I should note my daughter loves crab rangoons and gets them everywhere). I guess I will give it three stars.

General Tso's Bean Curd - Crispy and Delicious

This is a solid take out restaurant for Chinese food. We've been ordering here for years. Everything is pretty good, hot and fresh, and accurate. The staff is always super friendly as well. After catching a cold, this was my choice for their hot and sour soup. It's packed with flavor and loaded with tofu, different mushrooms, and strips of pork. You can customize the heat level as well. I went with medium and may try hot next time. It makes me feel better. My wife loves their egg drop wonton soup, Which is basically egg drop soup with some wontons added. It's very yellow and silky, which sounds gross actually. But it's good. For the entree, we tried the General Tso's Bean Curd which was light and crispy, and about 5-6 pieces of broccoli which suits me just fine. I got 2 containers of chili oil (no extra charge) to add some additional spice. The girls at the counter said they could sub tofu in any dish to make it veg friendly. They seemed intrigued by my questions about subbing for the various meats. I wouldn't plan on dining in here. It's primarily take out. Everything was packaged neatly with cardboard in the bag so things don't collapse.

I've been frequenting this place since I bought my house nearby, so I thought I would come back and leave a proper review. They deserve it. The staff is super friendly. There is usually the same lady at the front, and she is super nice and always remembers my name. She always gives me a huge welcome and makes me feel like my business is appreciated. They have a few high school age kids that work there too, but it's good because they speak English which makes it easier for some people to order. The food is quality chinese takeout. Being from NJ/NY, good chinese takeout is sometimes hard to find. I'm used to a certain quality. Many other places advertise themselves as NY style Chinese food, but don't make the cut to me. China Chef truly is the quality that I've come to expect from a takeout place. It's clean, and the food is always made to order. I've never seen a heat lamp in their kitchen! If you want a quick meal, a chinese takeout night, this is your spot. The dinner combinations come with pork fried rice and an egg roll. The Lunch specials offer the same, but in a smaller portion. I highly recommend their Chicken and Broccoli, Boneless Spareribs, or General Tsos Chicken.

Besides that I really loved the chee cheong fun with xo sauce and the fried shrimp balls. Maybe because we went on a Monday they didn't do the dim sum carts which I love. But then again, the restaurant isn't too big so I feel like they usually don't do the carts. But this is a way to ensure all the food you're getting is fresh though! I do wish the dim sum menu was a little more varied. I feel like a few staples that I normally gravitate towards weren't there. But there was still enough to have a good filling meal.

I was craving Tasty Wok (again) & decided to order 2 more dishes that I haven't had in years…read more Mandarin Egg Tofu With House Sauce Fish Filet with Black Bean Sauce These 2 dishes are HOUSE SPECIALTIES so that means they are known to be unique dishes and delicious. Mandarin Egg Tofu - Egg tofu is very delicious and is similar to silken tofu consistency and this dish is delicious. It has pork strips, enoki mushrooms , mini corn, snap peas, green onions. The egg tofu is fried first and once you bite into it its very tender and silky smooth texture and kind of creamy. This is my favorite tofu. The house sauce is a big brown based sauce. The snap peas seemed a little overcooked losing its bite and crunchy texture nonetheless still a memorable delicious dish. This would be a great vegetarian dish if you opt out the pork strips, Fish Filet with Black Bean Sauce - This is usually served or listed on the menu as a rice plate dish. I usually eat this dining in and its a delicious plate entree. They use Swai filets for this dish. For $1 extra you can order it as a dish with rice on the side and you get more fish filets etc separate. This is a lightly battered fish filets fried and topped with house brown sauce with slithers of onions and red / green bell peppers. Of course the brown sauce is black bean sauce so you will see speckles of black beans with the sauce. There are ginger notes as well when you devour this dish. The fish filets are cooked perfectly so soft and tender. The rice served here can be better imo. Perhaps better brand or grain rice? Also ordered my regulars ; Walnut Shrimp, Beef Chow Fun. Walnut Shrimp - Request ordering this (take out only) having the broccoli stored separately. This provides the shrimp dish to not be soggy. I think you get more shrimps this way too. Tasty Wok's walnut shrimp is by far the best in orlando imo - they really seasoned the shrimp itself prior to dressing it with their creamy sauce. The sauce has a tad sweetness to it & some sort of umami. The shrimps are jumbo large sized. You get about 10-12? Shrimps in this dish. I have had my share of tasting this dish at different restaurants and by far Tasty Wok's is by far my favorite. Beef Chow Fun - Another favorite from Tasty Wok. Wok Hei present, Tender seasoned beef thinly sliced, and Tender wide noodles. It was under seasoned salt wise but eating it with their creamy sauce seasoned beef makes up for it. Again, ate my share of Beef Chow Fun at many restaurants and by far Tasty Wok's have been my favorite thus far. They offer free mini tubs of chili oil upon request. Also chopsticks. Tasty wok do not seem busy dining in but they are busy with take out orders.

*4.5 but rounded to 5…read more I've been going to Tasty Wok since their old location across the street on E Colonial Drive. It was a hole-in-the-wall dive but still authentic back then. The staff were friendly and prompt. We came around late lunch and it was picking up after we were seated. The space is wide and has the old traditional Chinese restaurant aesthetics with a slight modernization. You can see all the crispy meats hanging at the front counter like a traditional shop. We ordered the Shrimp Wonton Soup with Egg Noodles. My go-to for comfort food. I've been a customer since college days and they make one of the best shrimp wontons. I know they've tweaked the recipe a little since the shrimp filling used to be ground up, which was better, but it didn't take away from the freshness. The broth is consistently flavorful with fresh greens and egg noodles. I somehow like the texture of the noodles more than the spaghetti size ones. We ordered the Crispy pork Belly and Duck combo which is really well seasoned. Some bites may be a little salty but it balances out with the rice. You can hear the crunch on the pork belly which is my favorite. We also got the Beef Chow Fun. It's wide noodles and cooked with scallions, beansprouts, and white onions. It was cooked over a flame so you can taste a hint of a char which is not overwhelming or greasy. It's the perfect balance to all the items. What I didn't order was the Water Spinach but it is one of my favorite vegetable dishes. You have to try it when it's available! I had hot tea with it and lots of hot chili oil in my dishes! I am happy they have remained pretty consistent in the dishes. Only on a couple occasions it was off but not many times. There's a small parking lot and plenty of street parking. They share it with other popular spots like Haan Coffee, Sampaguita, etc.

Fortunately I called at 9:10 to let them know we were on the way, and they told us they'd allow us to dine in. I appreciate that. The menu is pretty big. Prices are really good for the portion and all entrees come with rice. Can't beat that. I didn't see any noodle soups on the menu but I saw on Yelp someone had a duck noodle soup so we asked if this was offered. They said they could do it. The broth and noodles were good but the duck tasted a little old. We eat a lot of duck so we're kind of picky, but I think for most people, this would be just fine. We also ordered the honey walnut shrimp, mongolian beef, and beef chow fun. The shrimps were really big, lightly battered, but they smothered the dish in that mayo sauce lol Once you wipe off some of the mayo, it's pretty good though. I loved that they served this with steamed broccoli cause greens ya know? And they offered a good amount of walnuts for that crunch. The mongolian beef was delicious and while there were a lot of onions, there was also a lot of tender beef. The flavor was good, not too sweet, not too salty, and not spicy either, despite all the dried peppers. Beef chow fun was a hit. You can really taste the smoky wok hei flavor which makes it authentic. The beef was tender, the ho fun noodles whole and intact. Paired with their chili oil, so good! The chili oil is upon request only, they don't leave it on the table. Be warned, it does have a nice heat to it!. Service was prompt and courteous. For $71, we were able to have a quick, tasty dinner for 3.5 people (3 adults, one 5 year old). Can't beat that.
