Limited choices aren't always a bad thing. Very tasty and fresh, always adding food even after the lunch crowd has passed. I also stopped in to get buffet to go and was given a small , by comparison to other places, styrofoam container. No extra box for cold items unless squeezed in the container with the hot food so is it really buffet to go? I would never go back to get buffet to go. In comparison to Panda which is fast food Chinese the to go is too expensive for the small box based on price quality variety i would give it about a 4 on scale of 1-10. The best parts was the yellow rice(had very lil veg), picking the broccoli outta the beef and chicken lol, the roasted potato was ok(just had 1 lol). Ok @ some point in time the good folks in York, NE have to just get in the car or jump on a plane & travel to a BIG city around them & taste what a real Chinese buffet has to offer. Now Nashville is about as landlocked as York & we have some really kick azz Chinese buffets. Even in the neighboring towns of Goodlettsville & Hendersonville have better food fare then here. With that said, the food was not BAD but it wasn't good either. Come on now owners, get it together and treat people to something they would travel miles to eat !! You have it in you & in your culture. Hell even the Chinese I had in Monterrey, Mex had a better variety and the taste was exquisite !! So needless to say, tell these owners to shape up or move on as you the people of York deserve better & more !! JMHO And then to beat all - they let patrons bring their damn dogs in the restaurant !! Ok, it's the healthiest option as far as I can see in this town. So, considering that....the food was very decent for what it was. Much larger variety of food than the Chinese buffet across the street. Like 200% more food options. 3 large hot bars of food....one cold bar for salads & dessert. This place deserves to do well, because they are trying to provide a good mix of healthy options that are freshly prepared. If stopped in this town, I would eat here again. My wife, brother and I ate here around 3:15 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon. When we arrived, we were the only diners in the entire restaurant. To our pleasant surprise, all the food was hot and fresh. We noticed that they rotated the food for newer, fresher food, multiple times while we were there. There is a full salad bar with fresh vegetables and different types of sushi. There were probably two or three dozen different Chinese food dishes to choose from including crab legs with drawn butter and numerous shrimp dishes. Yelp, You let me down this time. I didn't see any of the "healthy" options mentioned in other reviews... I saw badly over cooked vegetables and lots of overcooked breaded and fried foods. The salad bar has only iceburg lettuce and a small variety of very old looking vegetables and some questionable looking boiled eggs. Very not traditional. The "fried rice" was yellow rice with some fried vegetables in it. My hot tea was served in a coffee cup. I did enjoy seeing the chef come out of the kitchen in his camouflage hunting hat when he dumped more food in the trays. read more

3 stars might be a bit low, but, 4 stars would be high. So, 3.5. I think it's the best Chinese buffet in York, but, that's not saying a lot. Most of the food is pretty decent. The pepper chicken is excellent, butter shrimp is good, seafood bake is good, pork w/ mushrooms is good as well. Also, their crab rangoons and stuffed mushrooms use the same filling which is very good. However, the last couple times I've been there, about half of the food has only been luke-warm. That's not very appetizing on a buffet. Their servers are also not the most hospitable I've ever seen. Stopped here on our way west a few times. Typical Americanized Chinese buffet. Loved the crab Rangoon, coconut shrimp, and a spicy chicken and peppers dish. Not gourmet, but yummy. Staff were friendly and the place was fairly clean. We got there at a busy time, but were seated quickly and the food was refilled often. This is pretty decent overall and an excellent value. It's a bigger selection then most, including the other Chinese buffet nearby. The quality is better than I expected for an under$10 buffet. Most of the trays were stocked at any given time and some guy was frequently looking to see what needed to be refilled. I would say if you are looking for a healthy option, there are several things to choose from, but the majority of the items you would want to skip. I just moved in to town from a much larger city in California.
