Not really sure how this place even has one star went with my family to eat around lunch time and the service was so bad the waiter was extremely rude cutting me off while I spoke or spoke over me & all the other gentleman rude not one smiling face in the whole restaurant and the food horrible will never come or recommend this restaurant read more

First of all, I live near San Antonio, TX and my husband balked at eating Mexican food in Nebraska. But the menu looked so good that I thought we should get off the interstate a little more than usual and try this place. He and I are both happy with the outcome. The food here is as good or better than most Tex-Mex places in San Antonio. The main waiter is from Jalisco, Mexico, if that makes a difference. The waitstaff is busy but professional and quick. The cook(s) is/are fast and everything we had was delicious. We ordered queso and guac as an appetizer and the servings were generous. Then we had the dinner beef fajitas, which were also delicious and plenty for two people to share...with leftovers! We arrived about 11:40am and were glad we did because by noon the restaurant filled up. I am definitely recommending this place. Also, the restrooms were very clean. Perfecto!!! read more

Decided to have lunch here after a morning of flying at Seward Airport. The YELP reviews were right, great food and service. I really liked that they had 3 different Chili Colorado options (beef, chicken, and pork). I always want pork, but most restaurants only offer beef which is usually dry. The pork was so tender and flavorful. Will definite make this a frequent stop after flying. read more

Wow! What a pleasant surprise!!! Without a doubt probably the best Mexican meal I have had outside of Texas! (30 years in Colorado) and definitely the best Mexican restaurant in Nebraska! The middle of nowhere on our way to see the eclipse in York, NE. This is steps away from a motel in Seward.We were pretty hungry driving all over for a place to hang our hat for the night. What a surprise. The salsa was homemade and generous. A good guacamole. I got enchiladas. A lot of it reminded me of El Loro. This place stands up to any in the Twin Cities. The place was packed at 9 PM on a Saturday. A guy was delivering plates to a party of 7. He gives new meaning to the expression "on the arm". Trays, we don't need no stinkin' trays. My server was a riot. When I told him it was my first time, he gave me a look like it's everybody's first time here. This is Twilight Zone time that a place like this is in a place like this. This is for the sister restaurant in York Nebraska. It's has the same great food, yet if you happen to be in York Nebraska you can get the same great food as Seward. It's located in the old Pizza Hut restaurant north of the interstate.It's expanding out front for more seating. Lunch time, it's crowded, but never had to wait. Seems the word is getting out. It's great to have such great food in two locations. Great service was received both times I have visited, had the lunch special, huge and filling. The chips were warm and crisp. For being out in the middle of nowhere in Nebraska, this place has decent Mexican food. The place is huge so there is plenty of seating and the service is pretty good. The cilantro in La Caretta's fresh salsa, which comes free at the beginning of your meal with warm chips, is delicious. My favorites here are the combination fajitas, which I always share with my husband, as the portion size is so large. I also love their shrimp quesadillas, the fish taco is just "ok."
