This place is pretty great with qualifications. We've had food here quite a few times both to go orders and dine in and if you get it to go, it's gonna be OK by the time you get home. But if you eat in at the restaurant right as it's fresh out of the kitchen then it is at least 50% better. I also say it's pretty great in terms of it being small town fairly Americanized Chinese food. For the places available around there outside of Lincoln, it is the best available hands down. I do appreciate that They really listen to you. I love spicy food. And most places I go to get Chinese food I order it extra extra spicy. Most places do very little to help with the spice level. But here I've had a good experience multiple times getting things that are actually decently spiced when I ask for extra. I also like that it is a family run establishment, and the servers/weight staff are always pleasant. Be warned the family takes a month or so every summer to go back to Asia. Definitely worth checking out their Facebook page before heading there in the summertime because you don't want to show up and have them closed. Their biggest downside is that they don't use MSG. I know there's a bunch of old wives tales or whatever you want to call it about MSG. But MSG is the king of flavor! Uncle Roger taught me that. There is nothing wrong with MSG and it does Absolutely enhance Chinese food. This place advertises no MSG but I feel like that is just catering to the uneducated mob. Dragon Palace is the single greatest Chinese restaurant in the entire world. I went to college down the road from here and there was no better place for a broke college kid to come enjoy a delicious Chinese buffet. My friends and I shared much joy and laughs over massive plates of egg rolls and house chicken. Every single thing on the menu is phenomenal. I was back in town for the Fourth of July celebration and so my friend and I got a to go order, for old times sake. Due to covid, you can only do carry out right now and that is okay!!!! The food was cooked quickly. One of my favorite things about Dragon Palace has always been the portion sizes. You can get 2 to 3 meals out of them, honestly. Side bar one time in my life I lost a bet and got dared to eat 20 egg rolls here and I could not do it. I had to settle for 12. This particular trip I got peanut butter chicken and fried rice. My friend got house chicken and he said to quote I have never had so full of a tummy. My other pal got beef and we loved every bit of it all. We were impressed by the kind and speedy service. I've enjoyed many meals at Dragon Palace. I want to begin my managing expectations: Have I have had better Americanized Chinese food? Sure. But for a small, family-owned and operated restaurant in the rural Midwest, Dragon Palace is a charming, welcoming space with satisfying food. The all you can eat style buffet is a deal. For a town the size of Seward, the selection is decent. They usually feature a few choices of appetizers (Crab Rangoons, Pot Stickers, etc), rice or noodles, a few entrees (often a veggie option, a beef option, and a couple chicken options), a couple soups, and a couple desert choices. For a mom and pop restaurant, I appreciate the number of menu items offered, as well as their generous portions. When I was an undergraduate student, those portions meant I could have supper one evening and leftovers for lunch the next day. Most importantly, the owner and his family are incredibly kind. While I've moved away from the area, I will long remember conversations with the owner. Unlike chain restaurants, Dragon Palace is a fixture in the community, and I do hope you choose to patronize their establishment. read more

Passing through Seward we had a hankering for some Chinese food. Google search said Dragon Palace was open and close, we tried it, it left us disappointed. The 2 young girls working there were arguing about service. Though they were nice to us, there was no one else in there and made it awkward. Service was good and the food came out fast and was hot! The food simply lacked flavor. From the crab rangoon app - it was plain, no crab flavor. I tried Yum Yum chicken - it was just ok. No real stand out flavors, the breading was too much, the sauce was not bad, just plain. The veggies were poor. Sesame chicken wasn't the best - odd sauce flavor, not what we usually find with that dish. Also needed a little presentation help, it was in giant pieces that really fell apart. That is my wife's go to, she ended up eating more Yum Yum. Sorry - we won't be back. read more

The Dragon Palace in Seward, NE is a small town family Chinese restaurant with quality ingredients, quick service and a nicely ranging menu. They have a buffet at lunch time only. Tonight I started with a half order of Crab Rangoon, which came to the table still sizzling. Though the General Tso's is my go-to fave, tonight I tried the shrimp, chicken, beef and vegetable combo lo mein. Nicely crisp-tender vegetables complemented the perfectly done noodles with lots of each of the three meats as well. My husband had the garlic chicken. It had onions, celery, carrots and bamboo shoots. He likes extra spicy food and got served red hot chili sauce on the side. The only drawback is the old building the eatery is housed in, which needs to be renovated. read more

Not bad but the only Chinese restaurant in Seward should be a lot better. There are Asian buffets in Lincoln and York that are outstanding, Dragon Palace pales in comparison. Always good service and large portions but their idea of a seafood entree is 20% shrimp 80% imitation crab, that's a joke. THE WORST chinese I've ever had!! We were seated immediately, and the waittress was nice. Good job there. Atmosphere: No music, and we were about 3 feet away from the next table. It was awkwardly quiet and you could easily hear everyone else's conversations. Food: Crab rangoon had barely any filling. Still, it was the best part of our meal. I ordered a chicken dish, and it was so terrible I only ate one bite. I told the waittress, and she called the manager on the phone. This is the best Chinese in the Lincoln area. There Teriyaki chicken is wonderful and so is the Shrimp with lobster sauce. Their pot stickers are amazing. This is our favorite place to eat in the area and go there often. The decor could do with an upgrade but the food is wonderful. read more
