Decent buffet! They always keep the items stocked and clean. The dining area is a little messy, but it does get a lot of foot traffic and children. They have a good selection of classic Chinese takeout dishes, a Mongolian grill area, salad bar, fruit, desserts, soups, and tons of yummy appetizers like egg rolls, crab Rangoons, and spring rolls. The food is always hot and they're constantly checking on it to bring out more as needed. The servers are good at getting drinks and bringing the check. Prices are decent. It can get pretty crowded and chaotic, but I'm sure that's like any buffet. read more

I give this place four stars for doing a pretty good job at what it is, being a casual, all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet. The buffet is kept clean and well stocked. There is a small hibachi area with OK sauce, recipes and pretty decent vegetable and meat options to put in your stirfry. You'll find all the typical Chinese takeout classics, including egg rolls, lo mein, sesame chicken, teriyaki chicken, beef and broccoli, etc. Not the best Chinese in town but again for the price you get a wide offering of dishes and if you don't like something obviously you could go back and get something else. I just left this place of business. I went in to get a buffet and asked to see what they had. They allowed me to look at the buffet. When I came back to the front counter to get a container, I was completely ignored. I stood there for several minutes While the guy in front of me just counted his drawer and was doing something on his phone. After a few minutes, I finally said never mind and he looked up and said OK thank you have a good night. I won't be going back to this location ever again. read more

I'm not a huge fan of Chinese buffets in general, but my husband's mother wanted to go here for Mother's Day, and this one is actually pretty good. The vibe is pretty similar to all buffets you've probably been to before, pretty bustling and loud. We came at around 6pm before the big dinner rush. We thought this may help to beat the crowds, but it actually meant the food was still pretty picked over from the lunch rush. We got our plates with the few things that were still looking pretty fresh, and felt a little defeated. However, when we went back up for a second plate/dessert, everything was refilled and looked refreshed and steaming! So I grabbed a tasting portion (to not waste food) of almost all the main dishes: -Beef Broccoli -Sesame Chicken -General Tso Chicken -Mongolian Beef -Honey Chicken -Teriyaki Chicken -Broccoli Chicken -Fried Rice The chicken dishes were hit or miss. The teriyaki chicken was quite dry, but the teriyaki sauce on it was tasty. The sesame and honey chicken were pretty similar and sweet. The broccoli chicken was my favorite because it was nice white meat chicken in a rich gravy sauce. Both beef dishes were pretty good and a little more flavorful than the chicken options. I put the Mongolian beef sauce in my fried rice to give it a little flavor, and I definitely recommend that. The desserts were the same story. A little hit or miss, but the ones that were good were REALLY good. Some of the cake options were a little dry, but the stars were the soft serve ice cream (the machine is over by the Mongolian grill), and the Mocha mousse coffee cake! The service was great, and we had a server take our empty plates away immediately and ask us if we needed any soda refills at least six times. Like I said most options were pretty hit or miss. But of all the Chinese buffets in Omaha, I think this might be the best one. read more

The whole place could really stand a thorough cleaning. Sticky chairs and seriously sticky, dirty table tops are really a turn off. We got there at 7pm yesterday, they close at 830pm, on the buffet they were out of Teriyaki chicken, buffalo wings, and you had to scrape the bottom of the hot and sour soup cauldron to get any. The fried rice pan was very low at first and empty by 715pm when I tried to get more kind of unforgivable on a Chinese Buffet. Most of the food I've had here is very, very good. It's buffet quality, but that doesn't mean it's bad. The tempura chicken is literally some of the best chicken I've ever had. The Mongolian beef is amazing, and of course, the normal Chinese buffet staples are good. I was a little disappointed in the crab Rangoons, and I tend to stay away from the Mongolian grill side of it (there are better ones in the area like hu hot) But you really can't go wrong with the vast majority of the food here,it's well worth the price. The servers are always very, very attentive and are always refilling your drinks and taking plates from your table, and sometimes nearly the second you're done, which is amazing. So the service is for sure a 5/5. Lastly, the ambiance of the restaurant. It's a buffet so there are a lot of children, and it's very, very loud , but that's to be expected and I obviously won't bring down a place for that. We've been here twice in the last 2 weeks and had a great time both times, so we will be back. read more

There's something here for everyone! Our whole family enjoys coming here. We really like the Mongolian grill-we pile up a couple bowls with our favorite proteins, veggies & sauces, then watch the cook heat it over a Mongolian grill-served at just the right temperature with everything you love to eat! To my surprise I seen a pan with whole tilapia fish-head in tack! I was leery at first, but had to try it! So happy I did b/c it was the best tilapia fish I've ever ate!!! Delicious! Props to the chef on this one! The buffet is always fully loaded with the popular Chinese dishes that include: beef, chicken, and vegetarian. Plus there's plenty of desserts to choose from if you're not too full! Hard to pass up the sugary donuts!? Service is always good & the place is kept clean. read more

Food isn't as good as it used to be the Mongolian grill needs some help the curry is like water with no real Flavor. The buffet was average but needed to be fresher there was some things looked like they had been there since lunch service was good and the building looks like it always has. Ok so I gave it 4 stars I would give it 5 stars but the reason for 4 is because of there desserts the lititle cakes. The one that tasted like tiramisu is very coffee cake type but the other cakes don't really have that much flavor it was like a heavy pound cake feelin. But for all it still was a good food place. This place is good for lunch, especially if you don't have an hour to spend. At $7.59 it isn't priced too high either. Don't expect the chicken at the buffet to be tender - almost every type is cooked a little too long and then sits in the warmer. (True for the last 5 visits.) The grill is good, though. It's hard to beat fresh grilled vegetables and meat of your choice for the price. I've been looking all over Omaha for the PERFECT Chinese buffet-a place with offerings both conventional and weird, where the food is always hot, and the price is low. This, dear Yelper, is that place. Located in West O, China Buffet & Mongolian Grill is in a little strip mall, next to a Chipotle. Whenever I get my Chipotle fix, passing by this buffet and smelling the heavenly scent of fried Chinese food always makes me hesitate on getting a burrito bowl. But I had to wait for a Chinese buffet enthusiast friend before I could take the plunge. The restaurant is always clean, and seemingly busy. There are booths and tables, and a few dining rooms. The staff is super friendly, and quick to clear your table/refill drinks/help in any way. That is always important! Now, the food: OH.MY.GOD. This place has it ALL. Every popular (and not so popular) dish imaginable. Everything you can want in a Chinese buffet! They have the regular fare, like orange chicken/beef & broccoli/fried rice, etc, but also a great Mongolian grill with raw ingredients that you take up to be cooked to your liking. They even have a salad bar and..sushi! Unreal. There is also a great little dessert area with cakes, cookies, ice cream, etc. We ate way too much, and everything was great. Not a single complaint. The dishes are rotated out often enough that you won't have to worry about eating stale or lukewarm food. Prices are ridiculous fair too-we paid $10 each and were stuffed beyond all reason. They don't offer all you can eat crab legs anymore and the worst part about it is that you have to still pay the higher price on Friday and Saturday for dinner... This place is top notch and by far my favorite place to get Americanized Chinese food. However, I go here for the crab they have on Friday and Saturday nights. For $11 bucks a person it's all you can eat and oh boy do we eat. We tend to get like 4 plates of crab and I'll maybe get a piece of cake. I go here just to eat crab. So why only 4 stars? Well as much as it pains me to do so I've had a few issues. Don't go here when it isn't busy. This is true of ANY buffet, but the food can be a bit eh if you do. The service can be really bad. In my opinion the waiters pick who to serve best on who they think they'll get the best tip out of and this really grinds my gears. I shouldn't have to wait 30 minutes for a glass of water. Service aside the main issue I've had was with other guests. Let me explain, I have food allergies and even though it's not the smartest thing to eat at a buffet I am usually able to take the chance. My favorite not crab item is the lo mein noodles, I could eat one big plate of it and feel super happy. (I have been to several states, no one makes them as good as they do). That being said, someone accidentally dumped their plate in there. The logical thing to do would have been to get a new thing of noodles, which they did, but they scrapped most of the old noodles in there while trying to remove what they could and used the old tongs. That just seems pretty gross to me. Not only gross, but bad for me as what I'm allergic to (mushrooms) was dumped in the food. In a non rude way both myself and my husband brought it to the attention of the manager (who might have been the owner? I am unsure). Had it been ANY other manager they wouldn't have been rude as we used to eat there at least once a week. This lady however called myself and then my husband a liar. We then refused to pay for my portion of the meal since I had lost my will to eat (I had only eaten like a bite of chicken and that was it). She was very nasty about it, but didn't push the subject. We have gone back since this happened and haven't had any real issues, but this still sticks with me when we go. So in short: if you see a line outside the door YES it's worth the wait, if there isn't much business maybe skip it & be very careful if you have allergies. Oh and before I forget, the grill part is pretty good, but the guy that usually cooks it doesn't speak very good English (he's Hispanic) and again with food allergies, you need to be VERY clear on "clean utensils". Usually they will track down a serve to translate for you and it can be embarrassing, but it works. read more

I had the predictable experience of eating way beyond my means, while my conscience, sense of self preservation and common decency all took a break together somewhere and didn't speak up until I was finishing up my third plate (you know the buffet trinity - appetizers, main courses, desserts). The staff is pretty quick at removing dishes and filling up the drinks. The selection is good and receiving your check when you are finished is efficient. The food was fresh, hot and yummy and rolled out like clock work. And it only cost me about $10, post lunch. (Yes, it gets cheaper). We used to love this place. Today was different. Kept running out of plates, food, and tables were crowded together. We sat with our plates, no pop refills because basically no service. The food used to be good. Now all of the sauces taste pretty similar. Coconut shrimp had the tails on them but could not find them as coating was all over. So, you either had to search for the tail by ripping off the coating or spit it out when it crunched, Crab Rangoon had tan filling and not tasty to me. Buffet $14.99. Soda extra. So, not worth it. Great Chinese food at a reasonable price. You can also build your own dinner at the Mongolian grill. I like to go on weekends when they have.all you can eat crab legs. The hot and sour soup is very good with lots of vegetables and meat in the broth. Try it. You will like it unless you are like my wife who doesn't like any kind of buffet. We went there a couple of weeks ago and were told that the crab eaters were costing them too much money. That stinks, but I will still go there for the other food. read more
