Compared to other buffets this place has always fresh food since it maintains such a busy clientele. The workers are constantly filling up the trays. Tastes great for a great price read more

I have gone to the China Buffet many times. The food is alway good the place is always clean. The food is very reasonable. The selection is very wide. The downside to this place is the food is not always hot, my advice go when it is crowded of pick the trays that are steaming. read more

Plenty of choices to choose from at the buffet. The scorpion bowls are worth the money .. and plenty of parking . I like the location and my niece LOVES the sushi bar.. although I'm not a big fan of sushi it looks well put together read more

Oh man I feel like I grew up here. This was probably one of the only chinese food buffets in the area for many years. They have everything and they are big enough that you won't be waiting. The food is standard chinese, american and grease...and lots of it. read more

Just recently discovered this place! Great food and prices. Many lunch & dinner buffet options to choose from. Bins quickly refilled. Friendly, attentive staff. Always busy, family-friendly and welcoming atmosphere of regulars and newbies such as us. Ample seating and plaza parking. Clean restrooms. read more

So glad we took the ride down to try this place! Small restaurant but many many buffet items including sushi. Every item I tried was hot & delicious! Staff was stretched thin so we had to be patient about getting refills but not a big desk we just asked while we were up at the buffet. Will definetly be back! read more

China Buffet - Chinese Near Me - Methuen, Massachusetts

Food was very good considering it was a buffet. Service was excellent as waitress was constantly cleaning our table. Selection of food was way more than at other buffet type restaurants. Prices were very reasonable and they also had special prices for seniors, which was appreciated. Would definitely go back again. read more

What you would expect. My MAJOR issue is that they have the basic ice cream options but the chocolate ice cream had almonds in it. The two people who had chocolate ice cream in my party each had an almond in theirs. My daughter is allergic, thankfully not life threatening but there are plenty of people who are! Things should be labeled. read more

I tend to over eat. Believe me, I know a good buffet when I see[eat] one. Vast menu of items. Always fresh from soup to nuts. Chicken all kinds, Beef, Veggies, Fish, Rice, Salad bar, Deserts[inc.hard ice cream] the best. I love the crab rangoon, teriyaki chicken, coconut crusted shrimp and bacon wrapped boneless chicken breast. Much, much more. read more

My girlfriend and I were having a craving for Chinese food, so we decided to stop by China Buffet to get something to eat. There were a wide variety of choices that ranged from lo mein, green beans, white rice, et cetera. It was a typical buffet that served our needs, but it was nothing special. If we're around the area and really want Chinese, we can always come here and be relatively satisfied. read more

I love the donuts here and the food is really good. I usually expend quite a while here. And the vanilla ice cream n other flavors reminds me of my country. Its a nice place for groups and somewhat events. read more

Bring in mind before listening to the others that Chinese buffet could not be super pooper place , well think about it , you are paying 12$ for more than enough amount of food . Some people don't like the smell of reheated food , but that is almost in every Chinese restaurant . read more

Can you grade something -5 stars? If so, this deserves it. Food court quality grease ridden food. Not for those with GI ailments. The mens room is disgusting. Calking coming off the urinals which are separated from the walls. Service was horrible. I got the check before we were done. I asked for another coke at the time and she proceeded to take the check to add another one on. I said what about free refills. She forgot. Well i forgot the tip....Oh wait, here's a tip.. DON'T EAT HERE read more

My boyfriend lives in Methuen and comes here regularly..so the other night I decided to try it out with him. I was shocked! I'm from Medford and have yet to discover a "decent chinese buffet place". Up until now they did not exist. China Buffet has an awesome assortment of food, raw bar. sushi, fried foods, noodles, rice, dessert, galore. What I loved was the sushi! Freshly made sushi. OK- It's no YOKI my favorite sushi place by far in Wellington Station in Medford, but still good. I would def check this place out ! :) read more

Service was fine.... food was just ehh... You can tell a lot of the food we bought prepared. The chicken fingers were over done and dry, general gao was weird. Not worth the price. There are plenty of good Chinese take out place to spend your money here read more

I went on Veterans Day. It was awful. My brother didn't go to Afghanistan to come back have horrible and on top of that they charged more for the food. I'm never going back not it was ever great food but at least it was cheap. read more

This place almost literally killed me. We went here for my 20th birthday; the next evening I went to bed with an upset stomach. By the next afternoon I was in the ER. We had initially gone to my general care physician, but while I was in the examining room I had started to go into shock from the pain. Thankfully the hospital was literally across the street, and they were able to immediately accept me. They thought at first that I had appendicitis; only after later tests and a fully body scan did they realize I had severe salmonella food poisoning. Thankfully I went to my doctor's office and didn't try to "tough it out." read more

This place has been around since I was a child and it STILL looks the same. If you're looking to eat a ton of food for dirt cheap - look no further. As everyone has stated, food is mediocre. Everything kinda tastes the same and it's all kinda greasy. The American section is nasty, stick to the Asian stuff. Props to the decent sized sushi bar. I usually never dine here - if I'm having cravings I'll come in for takeout. I really like their sweet crab rangoon. My takeout never exceeds $6. It's not bad here but then again it's bad. Does that make sense? read more

I dont really like buffets. But this one wasn't that great. The food wasn't hot it was warmish but not that great. Some of the food didn't look good at all. Overall, I wasn't impressed and I wouldn't be back read more

If you go at night Sushi is included in the buffet.. A plus for huge Sushi eaters... Like my wife and I

I'm not sure if this place used to be better, or if I was just an...undiscerning teenager. I'll be honest with you: even as said teenager, I'd only ever come here for the sushi, which, though not exactly Masa-caliber, was 1) abundant and 2) pretty palatable for what it was. For a $12 or so dinner, it was worth the money. I came here tonight for the first time in six or seven years, expecting the same type of deal. Sadly, I was greeted with a few sorry imitation-crab-cream-cheese-cucumber rolls; there were four or five nearly-empty plates at the sushi station that were never replenished during the hour I spent at China Buffet. Was it because I came at 7:30 instead of earlier on in the evening? I was forced to turn to the main buffet, which wasn't any better. There was basically no dish turnover. I recall getting up a few times to poke around in the vain hope that something edible would materialize, to no avail: no one ever replaced the crusty, almost empty canister of egg drop soup, or most of the other unlabeled mystery dishes. And, of course, there were the dishes that no one touched: the "apple pie," sketchy looking pasta, some monstrosity made of spinach and cheese, a random meat dish that sat there on a melamine plate instead of the hot plate...plus, the tongs they had out were greasy as hell. Yuck. I ended up having a bite of greasy lo mein, two florets of broccoli, a sesame ball, a "sugar biscuit," an off-tasting spicy tiny octopus, one bite of an overly sweet (!) spring roll, a slice of fried plantain, and when I decided to give up, about two and a half french fries. For dessert - because at this point, why not - I picked up a square of red jello and some lychee. If you want to indulge in unhealthy Chinese food, go elsewhere. Sorry, China Buffet. read more

Food is hot. Quick service as it's a buffet. Can be very crowded. Lots of kids running around which makes it a little uncomfortable. You can ask for fresh sushi. They have a variety of different types of food. read more

+: variety of food is great, taste is flavorful (as far as Americanized Chinese food goes, and cheeeeap!!!, in the same strip mall there is a pick ur toppings yogurt store for dessert!!! -: I would give this place 4 stars but it smells!!! I think they need to invest in a dedicated morning of shampooing the rugs and cleaning the booths, etc and it will be overall better!! read more

Always love going here with my parents. It's been open since the mid to late 1990s, I believe and just gets better each year. Nowadays they added the self serve sushi bar as well. Love that! read more

I enjoy China Buffet. I go there about twice a month or more. I especially love the seafood. They have snow crabs, shrimp with pea pods, coconut shrimp, salmon, other crab dishes and shrimp dishes...I primarily eat vegetables and seafood and they offer such a variety that I always enjoy dinner there. My absolute favorite is the Hot and Sour soup. It is the best I've ever had and I start dinner and end dinner with it. I would love to have the recipe for it so I could make it at home. If anyone has this recipe and is willing to share I would greatly appreciate it. read more

Adequate and priced right when you're hungry and in a pinch, but please don't intentionally go here for a meal. They have a large selection and the price is decent, but you get what you pay for. Low quality, cold food, dirty restaurant. Won't be back anytime soon. read more

I know it's dirty and looks like it's 1985 in there but, I like it. I can go through four giant plates of the muscles in the black bean sauce.. There's a lot of options and they have a scratch ticket machine and keno.. What else do you need at a Chinese buffet? read more

The food is adequate. Mostly fairly typical things that you would expect at a Chinese buffet along with desserts and sushi and stuff like fries and onion rings. A big selection so there should be something for everyone. The lunch price makes it much more worth it. But you have to watch the clock because the last time I went was around 3:45 and it was already dinner prices. The place almost always stinks of fish to me. I hate fish. But it didn't bother the other four people I was with the last time I went so maybe it's just me. read more

Delicious foods, great selection that seems to change with each visit, friendly thorough service that isn't rushed but doesn't leave you asking a random stranger for a drink refill, and reasonable prices for what you get. Haven't tried the take-out-by-weight, but have been tempted to and see that it's popular. Bring the kids and picky eaters, plenty to chose from: Asian, American, sushi, rice, soup, hot/cold dishes, salad bar, ice cream/desserts, they have it all. read more

My wife and I always stop around 12 o'clock lunch time when food is fresh and with always a lot customers so turn over of the buffett is quick. Food is always hot and fresh. Always friendly staff and no brainer me don't have to read menu. Just go in eat, and go. read more

This place is gross. The food is gross, mostly. The green beans are usually good, as is the hot and sour soup, and the alcoholic drinks are fantastic for the prices charged compared to other establishments within a 3 mile radius. That's why I give it 2 stars instead of 1. The people who come here are gross. I can't imagine the amount of bugs that must exist out back where the food is prepped! The bathrooms are deplorable, well the men's bathroom anyway! It's cheap and it's a buffet so I don't expect much, but still... read more

Went there at about 5 O'clock one evening (should have been prime time on the bar right???) All the food was tepid, the variety was less than robust but they did have some unique items if you like octopus (not me... bu thanks anyhow). Service was slow on drink refills too... Then, I made the mistake of going into the bathroom! OMG, one door was either missing or broken (cant remember if it just wouldn't shut or it just wasnt there), the other had a door (yippee) but not seat on the toilet. Drove home quickly at that point... lol. read more

I regret coming here my food was so bad I got food poisoning not only that but there was a hair in my food. When we confronted the man at the front desk he proceed to tell us to go fuck ourselves don't go here EVER!!!!!!!! read more

I ate here recently at dinner time and would never go back again. The selection is mostly fried, greasy food. Although we were there around 6p.m, there were very few people there, which also meant food stayed out at the serving stations a long time. The restaurant itself was very dirty, especially the floors. The highlight was the customer or two sampling items directly from the serving pan, no tongs used and non of the staff addressed it. One of the worst Chinese places around. Only thing that keeps people coming by back is the all-you-can eat factor and the price. read more

I'll give zero stars if I could. The food was gross, and would never get refilled unless you ask them to. The meat, dimsum were either dry and/or tough. Horrible food and horrible service. read more
