Orange chicken
Kay K.

Food was really really good. Orange chicken was well sauced and crispy. Good customer service as well

Menu as of 11/2023

China Boy Bakery is back! After a short hiatus during the pandemic, Anna is ready to serve her customers like they're her family. You can't beat how warm and friendly she is. She's just so thankful for every person that walks in. And her food is delicious! It's Chinese comfort food at its best. It's a bit more expensive than Chinese fast food but the menu has the classics. Their chow mein is so good. Additionally the orange chicken is perfectly crispy and sauced. She makes these chicken wings on sticks and in addition to tasting good, they're also easy to eat because of the sticks. If you're lucky enough, you should definitely try Anna's walnut cookies. She doesn't always have them available but they are so buttery and delicious! The one thing I'll say is that you may want to plan to get the food for takeout. The restaurant is pretty tiny and not the nicest. This is a small business that you'll feel great supporting!

Shrimp chow mein

I got shrimp chow mien and pork buns , let me tell you it was so delicious compare to other Chinese restaurants. When we walked in they were so welcoming and it felt homey, they even gave us dessert while we were waiting for our food. I strongly recommend you to try this spot if you are looking for an authentic restaurant.

House fried rice, pork chops

House fried rice with spicy pork chops was delicious. Best fried rice pork chop combo I've ever had and trust me I've had a lot. Simply delicious. Added the chili sauce too

Anyone been here recently? They havent answered the phone in a long time.

Nope, it's been months since someone in their family needed surgery so they had to close the store down. Don't know if it's temporary or permanent. Hopefully everyone is okay though 👏🏻

SALJU HAS EXCELLENT SHAVED SNOW…read more=============================== I am so glad Salju is still in business after all these years! It seems really popular as well. While I was there lots of people came in. I used to bring my son years ago. My selection today was a small matcha with strawberries on top. I had the choice of two items in addition to condensed milk which I love. Next time I'll pay extra for more condensed milk. It was absolutely delicious. Even though it's about twelve miles from my home I will make the trip. It's worth it. The service is great too.

small shaved ice ($8.5) - at first i was like why is this…read moreshaved ice almost $10 after tax but it is so worth it given the size, texture, flavor, and the fact that you can choose two toppings! - there is a great variety of toppings which I liked; i got the grass jelly and red bean, both of which were good quality ingredients - got it without any condensed milk bc it was already yummy by itself; light, refreshing, and a perfect guilt free sweet treat - the matcha was super strong and the shaved ice itself had a quirky texture; although it is shaved ice it has a texture leaning a bit towards gelato? A bit gooey when you pull it up; It doesn't melt quickly right in your mouth too rating: 4.7/5 - this might be on my top 2 shaved ice spot because its texture was just so unique; flavor was good and portion was massive - i really have nothing to complain about this spot and what's even better is the amount of seats and outlets in the store - has a restroom in the back - great spot to hang and chit chat - super welcoming and friendly service - service is extremely speedy IG: @nom.noms.only

I had a lovely experience at Old Ferry Donut (San Gabriel). I ordered the Tiramisu Donut ($4.95)…read more It's a fluffy, BIG donut that tastes like a decadent tiramisu. It's also filled with a light, soft cream. DELICIOUS! I arrived at Old Ferry Donut (San Gabriel) on a Wednesday (around 3:42PM). Parking is simple. There's a competitive customer parking lot. And there's a city public parking lot about a two minute walk away. Staff is very friendly, professional, and welcoming. Staff maintained a bright smile throughout my visit. Staff immediately helped me. Customers can order at the self-service kiosk or counter; however, the kiosk felt very dated & the prices on the kiosk felt less transparent. I recommend just ordering at the counter. There's no penalty for using card at this donut establishment. As mentioned, I love the Tiramisu Donut ($4.95). It's not too sweet; rather, it all felt balanced. However, this is a VERY messy donut; I recommend eating this donut with a fork and knife. The powder fall everywhere, and your clothes can quickly get stained with chocolate powder. Still, it's a delicious pastry. On ambiance, Old Ferry Donut (San Gabriel) is comfortable. This business is more reminiscent of a cafe than a typical donut shop. There's customer internet with password; details on the counter. There's a gender neutral restroom. And there's an electrical outlet & outlet adaptor for devices. The location is fairly small; there's one interior table and one small counter. Fortunately, this place felt airy and well-ventilated. There's also some upbeat, fun music in this clean spot. Overall, I found unexpected joy at Old Ferry Donut (San Gabriel). There's sincere passion & hard work within these walls. If searching for a special donut for a special someone, this is an easy spot to recommend. 4.9 out of 5! Go!

Ordered a single shot espresso and the very popular butter pistachio donut. It was HUGE. I shared it with a co-worker as I knew there was just no way I alone could finish it. This thing was decadent... and totally up anyone's alley who has a severe sweet tooth. I typically do not like overly sweet things, but I have to admit, this was very good. The espresso was good and strong, and for me, a single shot was more than enough to get me through my morning. As I was the only customer in the place at the time, service was quick and friendly. I will definitely be back to try other donuts!

Found this place on Instagram, so we drove down from Pasadena...and it was well worth the drive…read more The store is super cute inside with a fun seating area. I wished we had arrived earlier to be able to enjoy more of the sold out offerings, but next time we'll arrive right when they open. We ordered a dozen crinkle cookies for a Mother's Day lunch - enjoying the sweet ube and the spiced thai tea versions. Both were great compliments to each other - more perfectly sweet and the other a bit more herbal. The chocolate chip cookie was perfect - nice crunchy edges and slightly gooey soft inside. The ube tres leches was a little disappointing as there wasn't any tres leches cake at the bottom, just crumbly graham crackers resting below exquisite ube mousse. It could have been mislabeled, but it was essentially just ube mousse with crumbly graham crackers for texture. The staff were friendly and the store is so fun!

Two items for immediate consumption and then some cookies for later. We purchased a dozen of the regular size cookies, including both Ube and Thai Tea. Both of them were excellent, and I felt they were priced appropriately at a dozen for $18. The Thai Tea seriously tasted like you were truly drinking a thai tea. We also shared one large classic chocolate chip cookies (so yummy!) The only thing we didn't understand is that we shared a Ube Tres Leches. I am not sure what was going on. Don't get me wrong, what we ate was very good; however, it was 100% not Tres Leches. It was an Ube Cream with some graham cracker crumble underneath. So, my assumption is that they must have just given us the wrong item. I would love to try the Tres Leches again in the future. Please support his lovely local business. It was a real treat!

They were very patient, and kept things moving efficiently even with a steady line of customers. The highlight is their signature Japanese cheesecake. It's incredibly light, fluffy, and subtly sweet that I absolutely love as it melts in your mouth. I ordered 2 of these to go to share with friends and family. I also got a few of their cheese tarts because I like how crispy and buttery their crust is and how rich and smooth filling it contains. My overall feeling of being here is cozy and inviting. Watching the cheesecakes being freshly baked adds to the experience, and the sweet aroma fills the space in the best way possible. Definitely worth the visit if you're in the area.

The outer cookie shell was not flavorful, it was blend, but once you get past that, the filling was one: ube, matcha and regular flavorful were my faves. I was not a fan of black sesame seed, but my daughter liked it! I would come back, but for the bigger cheesecakes!
