When I am in Middletown working out of a station near China 1, it is a go to for me and the other crews. There sesame chicken is up to standard and the combo platters are reasonably priced. You get a free soda or egg roll with a combination platter, so be sure to have your choice ready as the person who takes the order asks quickly and sometime incomprehensibly. He then gets louder with the question until he gives up. There is no indoor seating and it take out only. The orders are always prepared quickly and in all the times ordering, they have never fouled up any meal I or any crew members that have ordered. read more

I ordered sesame chicken on yesterday and when I got home to open for my family, the chicken was as hard as a rock. The service was terrible and the people cooking. The food were not very pleasant. The place is not clean. Will never go there again. The health department needs to come and check this place out because it is not up to standard. read more

DISGUSTING! The First time, I saw chicken in batter which was in an open container. They had put the open container of chicken on top of an upside down bucket that was on the floor, and right beside the chicken was their used mop and bucket! So unhygienic! The second time I went In, I saw a big open container of their Broccoli used for cooking, and this time the container was directly on the floor! The woman who works there was eating something as she was standing over the open container and looking it. They clearly cared less that a customer was there paying for food and seeing all this. I dislike this place so much!! I FOUND A BUG IN MY FOOD I ordered Fried Rice And Fried chicken and they only gave me Rice, my Wife Christine (she's famous you might know her from Gilmore Girls) She ordered fried rice with broccoli and lo mein. Instead they gave her fried rice with some sort of foreign meat . Its also not a peaceful atmosphere, the owners are always arguing and talking loudly. It is very unorganized. Hands down the best Chinese takeout in the area! (My personal opinion) I always get the sesame chicken and broccoli beef when I order takeout from here. I sometime also get the coconut shrimp and hunan duck. They all taste amazing and I strongly recommend. The reason this place is my go to is because whether it's fried chicken or fried shrimp, they all stay crispy!!! I have no idea how they manage to keep the fried meats crispy when it's coated with a generous layer of sauce! Definitely worth a try! It'll be a crunchy experience lol read more

went here for first time since I was craving Chinese for dinner, I was greeted quickly and politely. I ordered the fried rib tips with pork fried rice to go. I got the order in a little less then 10 minutes and was thanked for my order. the place itself was pretty hard to find since its squeezed between a salon and a Mexican restaurant. so the ribs themselves were cooked fresh and it was good they had a little of cooking sauce on them since usually rib tips end up dry. very tender. the rice was fresh and steamed perfectly. the meal itself was cheaper then other places I could order the same thing, so am glad I got a deal on great rib tips. read more

I've eaten at this place about 4 times now because it's convenient, literally directly across the street from my apartment. I get the same thing every time, the General Tso's chicken combo with an egg roll on the side. The food is your typical Chinese take out, nothing to write home about, however, the last two times I've eaten here, I've gotten very sick. I waited to write this review because I wasn't sure whether I got food poisoning from this place or from some fish that looked suspect in my fridge. However, this time I'm damn sure. Not only did I get sick, but my partner did as well. About 30 minutes after I finished the egg roll, I threw up - it took him about an hour. This would continue for the next 5 hours. Fast forward to this morning and my stomach is still upset and he can't get out of bed. Last time I try this place. Spend your money elsewhere. Go to the mall if you have to. read more

The tofu tasted old, it was supposed to be sechuan and it tasted like they mixed bbq sauce and ketchup and then dumped the bottle so it was swimming in sauce. When our food, that we were planning on eating there, was all packed up for a to-go order, I kindly asked for two plates. Lady didn't know one word of English, then she proceeded wave away my Amex credit card and shake her head. Haha, I guess they are the only Chinese restaurant that doesn't take Amex. Oh well. I decided to try this place last night after my nail girl recommended it. My friend and I placed 2 orders. We weren't allowed to pay separate, otherwise we'd "get our egg rolls taken away". My friend said fine take them. We are paying separately. The man at the counter says no sorry pay your friend back. We leave frustrated but just laughed it off as usual. As were eating my white rice starts turning yellow almost like Spanish rice and the chicken taste like chemicals. My friend said hers tasted like Lysol or something. We were both feeling sick after eating and as well today. We Used to eat at Peking house and then I started looking around that kitchen and decided I'm going to find some place new we used to go to Empire but that place got dirty at this place the mama spends all day cleaning. I'm lucky enough to have lived in Boston near China Town. I think I know my Chinese food. I've been to China as well (nothing the same as US Chinese food) I looked around at Peking House and found it filthy, I never got sick but as I was looking around I went to find another place. Empire Chinese is good but a little dirty too, the staff is not very friendly and sometime the food seems "old". China 1 is great I'd give them a 5 on cleanliness and a 4.5 on food. Singapore Mei Fun was good, fried wontons mostly dough, spicy beef schechuan has 1 inch slivers of beef, may 5 or 6 total and mostly all onion and who knows what. Garlic wontons were good and probably that is the only positive thing to say except they were friendly and quick. read more

We frequently go here for Chinese, though we stick with pretty much the same menu items. Food is great tasting and egg rolls not so greasy like other restaurants. Average wait is 10-15 minutes and they always have a smile and offer extra sauces. Clean eat in area with a few tables if you can't wait to bring it home.
