I hired Master Chimney to repair my leaking chimney, but the experience has been extremely disappointing. The representative, Peter, charged me a very high price for the work, promising that several items would be replaced and that I would receive pictures of the repairs since I cannot access the roof myself. None of that was done. My chimney is still leaking. Peter also promised to return to inspect the work, but he never showed up or even called--I had to reach out to them myself. On top of that, I was asked to sign paperwork on a laptop without being given a proper chance to review it, which I regret. Overall, the job was not completed as promised, communication was poor, and I was overcharged for work that did not fix the problem. Peter was the best. The estimate came in at middle of the 5 estimates, so perfect. He knew his business, was very thorough and even completed an inside inspection free of charge. Once I accepted the bid, he and the company was timely with communication and scheduling. Omar and his crew were very efficient and did a great job replacing our flue and all the outdoor masonry repairs. I only give them 4 stars, not 5 because our fence was damaged during the 1st stage of the work. The damage was not acknowledged by the crew. Followed up 2 days later and asked for the detailed report to which the tech responded that he would send it within a day. Never received it. This was over a week ago. Avoid. Not worth your money. Technicians came to my house today for routine dryer vent cleaning that my condo association arranged so I cannot comment on the price for the service. I've had a problem since moving in with the dryer not drying the clothes well and needing to run multiple cycles. I've had other companies attempt to fix it unsuccessfully and one even recommended a new dryer in the past. The technicians quickly identified the problem and took the time and patience to fix the problem. They explained everything along the way and showed me exactly what was causing the issue. It was clear no one else made an effort to really determine the problem. My next load of clothes dried halfway through the first cycle. Low intro price to clean and inspect (165 and 100 respectively), but tech just came out and sized up the chimney for much larger ($12k) project. He still charged the cleaning and inspecting fee (happy to pay the inspection fee). Two other companies came out did the same inspection and gave a (similar but about 10% lower) quote without charging. He didn't reaclean- cause the chimney isn't usable without the other repairs- so what did I pay for? Interestingly one of the other techs asked to see the quote and instantly knew it was chimney masters due to the high pricing. They came out to inspect the chimney which is fine. When I asked how much would it be to repair them so they will be functional. The one guy told me he's not going to give me a price because he doesn't feel like doing the work. If you don't feel like doing the work then why the hell did you come here in the first place. The other guy wouldn't give a price because he doesn't repair chimneys. Because just because they'll send you some knuckleheads who just inspected and give you a bill for the inspection.
