Very quick service. My chimney was a wreck. Buckets all over the sunroom as it leaked like a sieve. Crown was totally disintegrated. Bricks could be pulled out by hand. Hot water heater vent was out-of-code. They brought a crew and fixed it all in one day. A lot of tuck pointing, relaying rows of bricks, new crown, new vent down to the basement. I initially called Chelsea's Chimney back at the end of December for a chimney inspection and cleaning since my chimney was having poor smoke ventilation. Jeremy (owner) called me directly after my appointment in mid January, which my house is currently being rented to wonderful tenants and he worked with the tenants and me on our appointment and kept us both informed. He didn't charge me with the inspection fee ($80 something) because I had him replaced the flue liner in our chimney, perks of having the chimney serviced by his company. He definitely communicated well with me regarding on the work that needed to be done. Super friendly and patient. His team of workers repaired the flue liner at the end of January, and I spoke with Eyas (I hoped I spelled his name correctly) and he was also friendly and informative as the work was being done on the chimney. The job started around 8am and finished around 5pm. They cleaned up the site after the repair was done. I would definitely use Chelsea's Chimney again. I very highly recommend Chelsea's Chimney. We don't use our fireplaces, but decided to have the chimneys inspected after many years of not having done so. We wanted our chimneys to be more energy efficient, so had dampers and caps added, as well as restoration of bricks and mortar near the top of the chimneys that were likely original to our 1940s house. Pete did the inspection and provided us with an estimate for the work. He showed me video of the chimney interiors as he inspected them, and photos from the outside of the chimneys where there were cracks in the bricks and mortar. One thing I didn't realize he would inspect was the flue that runs from our boiler and out the one of the chimneys. I am so grateful that he did. The flue had been replaced in an emergency situation several years ago, and unbeknownst to us, there were multiple ways that the work was not up to code. It was a safety hazard we were unaware of, and we appreciate Pete for identifying it and walking us through the issues. The work began a week later, and leading up to that Pete thoughtfully checked in with us about the color of the mortar we'd like, and answered several questions about the upcoming work. The work was completed by a friendly, thoughtful, and skilled team led by Pete, Brad, and Juan. They left no dust, completed the work on time, and showed me photos of the work they did. I feel much more educated about chimneys, flues, etc. now, and it was a pleasure to work with Chelsea's Chimney. I needed my chimney cleaned so I contacted them. I was pleasantly surprised by their fast reply. The gentleman that showed up was very cordial and professional. He conducted an inspection on my chimney. Of course I can't see what is going on because the guy is on my roof. He finished the inspection and told me I needed an insert and other patch work up on my roof/chimney area. The quote provided to me was beyond my budget at the time. He hadn't yet cleaned the chimney. I asked if he could and at first he seemed hesitant. But he did clean it out as I could tell from the fireplace area it was cleaned and the smoke goes out the chimney better than before. Our utility room flooded a little after the last round of thunderstorms that we had. After investigating, turned out that due to the cap being missing from our furnace roof vent, water was getting inside and flooding the space. Coincidentally, our chimney was also missing its cap. Excellent service! Our chimney was struck by lightning and the entire top was destroyed. Rain was leaking into our master bedroom and living room. Hi, I used them to clean my chimney that obviously had something dead inside of it. Flies were and coming out of it faster than anything I've ever seen. They cleaned it got a 1/2 cup of material out of it, collected 150.00 and left. I noticed that the very nice worker, Eddie, was not even slightly dirty at the end of a day. The brush he stuck up my chimney was not dirty. Now I am wondering if I go scammed. The fire place had to be dirty as I had not cleaned it six years. The unit has a stove inside of it as well. I still have flies and a oder. Nothing was resolved. I called them back and they were willing to return for another 150.00. Be careful is all I can say. SMH read more
