This place deserves every ounce of this five star review. After seeing all the other fantastic feedback from yelpers I decided to give it a shot tonight to fuel my Monday night procrastination. Despite walking in about a half hour before closing, all employees were super friendly, asking if this was our first time visiting, and explaining different menu items. We decided on the taro latte and volcano mango frap, as those seemed fairly popular on the menu. While waiting for our drinks to be ready, we wandered over into the other room and were ooh and aah-ing over the cute decor (picture worthy for sure). So far I'm really enjoying my experience, but then I sip my latte and I'm not even really joking when I say it was game changing. A beautiful purple masterpiece with the perfect balance of sweet and a bit savory. I've never seen one of these elsewhere, so I certainly will be back to get it again. The volcano mango frap certainly did not let us down either: delightful presentation with some sort of spicy mixture through it and around a straw stuck in the middle. Pieces of mango were throughout the entire drink-- I have no doubt that it was very fresh. I will be back. And will probably come hungry for some of those fantastic-looking rice cakes! read more

I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! My daughter has been a regular here for there boba tea, but today was my first visit -- we walked here for a DELICIOUS lunch. I got the chicken banh mi, she got the brisket pho. Toffee milk tea and ice Vietnam coffee for drinks. Everything was spectacular! All is made to order. The banh mi textures and spicing were perfect - the excellent bread had just the right amount of chew. I stole the fresh jalapeños from my daughter's pho and added them to my sandwich - great idea! She loved her pho, which came with all the classic mix-ins on the side. The staff is super nice, and the place is spotlessly clean! The plain exterior belies the charming interior-- lots of spaced out seating options, beautiful natural wood surfaces, and adorable decor that someone took a lot of care to curate. My favorite vibe in a cafe in nova. It's to whimsical and feels like being back in Japan in a cute cafe. And the variety of things you can get there makes it a SUPER cafe. Trendy, Minimalist, and simple is the best way I can describe this little cafe. I really hope they keep it this simple because simple concepts are hard to find Arlington area. I like the minimal menu and drink options. Their black tea and viet coffee to me are on-point. It semi-sweet the boba are small and easy to chew. I have ordered food here too. The banh mi is small and packaged well for to-go. It's lemon-grass chicken. The wings has a tangy sweet taste and omg...I'm not big on tangy but this won me over. It was a good portion for a heavier eater or to share with someone. Can't wait to try the other beverages and food items. As for ambiance of the cafe, it's very instagram savvy, if you get my drift. It's airy, bright and again simple. There are small ledge top bar tables with stools on the right side as you enter. On your left, are two regular table with cushion ottoman chairs and regular chairs that seats up to 4. Then there's a "community" floor table surrounded by pillows to either sit on or lean with. So don't be shy to sit with other. The staff is super friends and helpful with whatever questions you may have. They accept all cards if you're wondering. Make to look at your right, by the cashier, so you know where to place your trash and dishes. The bathroom is the barnyard door. If you're trying to locate the place, it's in the corner between the dry cleaners and the Safeway (across from Harrison Shopping center). There's plenty of parking if you go to the side of the cafe versus the front. Definitely a cute hole in the wall for Arlingtonians. read more

This tea shop has great ambience and decor -- you instantly feel calm and zen when you step in. The mini tables and floor seating are a thoughtful touch, particularly for patrons with children. The bathroom, according to my little one, was "fancy." Ha ha. I ordered my default drink, a classic milk tea. It was nice and strong, and the snack of pan-fried rice cake with egg was gobbled up in no time. Staff split my kids' strawberry "smoothie" into two cups and kindly brought my orders to the table. How can I bring myself to wax eloquent about a hole-in-the-wall Asian tea shop in a run-of-the-mill retail block? It's just around the corner from a Safeway grocery chain and next to a nail parlor! It's interior is quite sweet, as are the servers who reflect the shop's small, locally-owned business character. Most certainly not a commercial chain with a franchise, they make bubble tea drinks from scratch with real good quality tea, and real fruit, rather than those hideous powders sitting in industrial plastic tubs. So, take that Kung Fu Tea! You'll taste the difference in their jasmine tea and their matcha tea. The menu is limited. Yet you find quality. The boba are soft and smaller than you'll find in the average bubble tea spot. The sugar levels are controlled. This is not about pushing a product, but about delivering a tasty product that will get repeat customers. They have a very limited snack menu (fried chicken and chopped mango is about it!) I don't know another place in Arlington that is this taste conscious in its bubble tea preparation,so if you don't want to head all the way out to Eden Center (for the superlative teas available at Thanh Son Tofu!), then stay local and enjoy a cool summer drink here at the "Chill Zone". read more

I got the iced lavender latte while i was here and I did not like it and their drinks are a bit on the pricy side but it's a small business so I understand. Chill Zone I liked you but I'm confused by you. I have wanted to try this place for so long and was a bit let down. I'd come back for some food or maybe some of the fraps but it really didn't outshine the chain competitors. I came in to kill some time and have some cold coffee on a hot day. They were out of cold brew which is a bummer on a hot day so I got a cold americano which was pretty bitter. They have the mini creamers but was surprised such a mom and pop shop didn't have unique creamer. The space itself was cute and as I waited I realized the sitting room wasn't as vast as I expected. The back two tables were taken, so was the front section, and the short table had a bunch of the owners family sleeping and doing craft related things there. That's fine but seems weird that the family is taking up some of the biggest area of chill zone, leaving less room for paying customers. read more

Such a cute place. I've been here several times and I still am in awe of how aesthetically pleasing it looks every time I come in. Recently, I came in after lunch nearby. I ordered a frosty mango frap while my sister ordered a power "C" frap which is basically guava-flavored. These two drinks came to be around $12 which is pretty steep for boba drinks but the quality is worth it. They bring your drinks out to where you're sitting! My frosty mango frap was so creamy and refreshing. If you know what a mango lassi is, this was just a very high quality version of it. My sister loved her drink, especially with the candy that comes with it, which gave it a balance of tart, salty and sweet. Only complaint was that my frosty mango frap was a smaller size than the power "C" frap. Which we could order in different sizes and not have set sizes for certain drinks. I'm so excited this place finally opened! Everyone here is so friendly and very patient while explaining the menu. The chicken wings are sweet and a little spicy (Vietnamese style), and the pan fried rice cake comes in pieces with egg. Perfect snacks to go with your boba tea or frap. They have reusable stainless steel cups for the complimentary lemon water. Super cute ambience - succulents, plants and shabby chic feeling. Came here with some friends. Looks very clean and modern inside. The only thing about this place is it's smaller than a lot of bubble tea places so I can see seating being an issue if this place becomes popular. I bought a milk tea bubble drink. The bubbles are smaller here, almost bead size, so if you hate chewing those bubbles this place is for you. Lastly the have iPhone chargers here which is convenient. read more

It's a gem once you find it. The restaurant is part of a short row of shops that faces away from the neighboring streets, so you have to know where to look for it - by the rear of the Safeway store and facing the Sunoco gas station. I was introduced to Chill Zone by some Vietnamese friends of mine, so that was the first indication that it was going to be good. Of course, the name doesn't give any indication that it is a Vietnamese restaurant, but it is, with traditional (and non-traditional) Vietnamese dishes and beverages. In fact, it's not clear whether you should call Chill Zone a cafe/juice bar that also serves food, or a restaurant with extensive coffee/tea/smoothie selections. It's really the perfect balance of the two. I've had the banh mi on both my visits, and it's great! The roll isn't as crusty as the baguette used at some other banh mi restaurants, but it's nicely chewy and packed with deliciously-seasoned meat. The food that others in my group of friends ordered looked very good as well. The bubble tea is so good, and I'm sure the other beverages are, too! The decor is just as nice as others have described. The music is lively but not intrusive. In short, Chill Zone truly is a nice place to chill and enjoy a terrific meal. This is a restaurant (or cafe?) I apologize for the half-eaten pic of the pho- I was hungry and didn't remember until it was too late Anyway, true to it's name, this place is extremely chill in the utmost zen-like way. There is calming music playing, tables on the floor with floor cushions and a shoe removal area. Definitely a unique place. The food was decent- didn't knock it out of the park for me. The pho seemed a little bland compared to other places I've been near the Eden Center. One recommendation i have is allow the sauces (fish sauce, siracha, etc) to sit out for customer use instead of in the pre-portioned containers. It's more work for you and it was the ratio I wanted for the pho. Taro frap was pretty good. Had great flavor but kind of a chalky texture, which leads me to believe perhaps there is a powder in that and too much of it was used? I dunno, but either way it was a nice little dessert. I'll probably return but try a different meal next time. read more

We ordered the beef pho, chicken pho and Bahn Mi Beef Sandwich. The food was delicious! Soup was medium sized but very filling and flavorful. The sandwich was juicy! Very good, and spiced very well. The interior is rustic and eclectic. There are a few different styles of seating, not necessarily ideal for a long study session, but still pretty comfortable. I got the green tea latte in a ceramic, asian-inspired cup. It came with rock sugar and a green tea Kit Kat which was pretty fun. My husband ordered a iced latte and later a milk tea bubble tea. His drinks has a little too much ice, so next time we will probably ask for less ice. The vermicelli was surprisingly good. The shrimp had a nice smoky/grilled flavor and the sauce for the vermicelli bowl was very flavorful. I think it is worth checking this place out. I moved to Arlington in March of this year and I am trying to explore all the cute coffee shops in the area and this will certainly be one of my go-to's! The decor is so cute and the staff is honestly so sweet! I called to ask if we could dine in (it seems to be mostly pick-up only) and because there were no other customers dining in and it was only 3 of us, they allowed us to dine in. The staff was so accommodating and they are taking all necessary precautions to ensure everything is sanitized (when we left they immediately sanitized the area). I ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk (which was AMAZING), a bacon and egg croissant, and the beef and steak pho (also amazing! Item #16 on the menu). Review is a bit late, I went before covid and during. First time experience with them was pleasant with indoor dining. I got the banh mi and egg ca phe. The coffee was good but a bit too sweet, too much condense milk. The banh mi was good as well, lightly crisp exterior and airy center to allow more meat and veggies to occupy. I got the beef and it was nicely flavored, reminds me of good old times in Vietnam. I went again back in spring of 2020 and i got a coffee latte. It was mediocre, I think the ratio of coffee to milk might be a bit off, too much milk in this case. Would go back to try other items on the menu. :) read more

From the looks of the outside it doesn't seem like much but upon entering in, the decor and ambiance of the place makes up for it. Cute spot to grab a quick drink and even hang out with some friends. You can almost compare it to Starbucks but more so on the chill side (hence chill zone lol). A good amount of tables and chairs and they even have a section of the place where you can take off your shoes and just lounge around. So many things on the menu looked appealing so I ended up getting the volcano mango frap and it was delicious. Very refreshing and the mini tapioca balls added a nice touch to it along with the tamarind candy stick. Also ordered the banh mi sandwich which was okay but ended up waiting a while for it. There's a large seating area of that is set up Asian-style, where you have to take off your shoes to sit around a table which was fairly unique. Menu-wise, I would say Chill Zone is slightly on the expensive side. I ordered a Vietnamese frap, which came out to around $5.60. The drink itself was pretty large, but I don't know if it's $5.60 large if you know what I mean. I couldn't see the prices on the menu above the counter, so I'm not sure if I just happened to order one of the more expensive menu items.
