I'm so glad I had the opportunity to try this place while I was in town--Such a hidden gem! The inside it's huge but I really loved the traditional floor seating; so cute and cozy! And the food and beverages came out rather quickly, so I can't complain about the service either. I had the pleasure of trying the orange matcha which was one of the best matchas I have indulged in my life. The orange was a bit sweet so you'll definitely need to stir it up as it sits at the bottom but if you're looking for a good matcha--Give that a try! Anywho, I swung back over here before heading out of town and gave the mango frost a try which was another delicious drink... I honestly enjoyed them both so much I couldn't tell you which was better. As for the food; my friend tried the cheesy sweet potato fries and I had the basil fried rice and when I tell you those fries were so crispy and fresh and the cheesy coating almost reminded me of Cheetos or popcorn dust but it complimented the fries very well and the rice was fresh and flavorful and a pretty big portion too! Dying to return here the next time I'm in town
I love this little place. A friend brought me here for a Thai tea one day when I had a craving. I was instantly hooked. When I'm in the area, I will definitely be stopping by. It has such a cute little inside that it's perfect for a little café situation, or a quick tea date with your friend or kid. It is such a cute little vibe. I love all the different types of seating and decor. Additionally, the Thai tea (about $7.50 for a large) here is delicious. They have a full Boba bar, which has tons of different milk teas on it. Their food menu is cute as well. It has pho, bahn mi, spring rolls, and a number of different items. It is convenient to get these items, but they are definitely a bit overpriced, especially considering that there are some really delicious Vietnamese spots not too far from here. One item that I can personally attest to being a little mid and overpriced is the spring rolls. I paid somewhere between seven and nine dollars for two. They were not that flavorful and they were pretty small. Service is usually pretty quick for drinks. I've ordered online and also in store before. I've never waited more than three minutes for my drink. I did wait about 17 minutes for spring rolls one time, but it is what it is. Overall, I will come back. I'm actually planning to take the kid there one of these days for a cute little day date.
Everything about this place is a 10/10! We're from out of town, but in the few days we're in this area, I will be here every day. The name is very fitting; the ambiance is extremely chill. They only play jazz, so you can actually come and relax instead of hearing someone else's taste in pop. My iced egg latte was exactly how I would make a coffee drink at home, which shocked me. One of the best lattes I've had in a long time. The service has been great. Every detail inside the shop has blown me away, from the shoeless seating on the floor to the endless paper cranes, and the incredible old camera collection. Thank you to the owners for putting all of your heart and creativity into a place that I will continue to visit when I'm in the DC area!
Awesome, cozy little spot with delicious food! The pho was very flavorful and delicious, loved every bite. When you enter you order everything at the counter and then seat yourself. Staff was very kind and food came quickly. This place definitely lives up to the name, "chill" atmosphere was perfect for enjoying a meal while catching up with friends in the ambient dining area.
Great spot! Came in there to do some work and the tea/coffee selection is great. I also picked up lunch here and the Banh Mi sandwiches are amazing. It does get crowded around lunch hour but i was able to snag a seat before then.
Service: you order your food and beverage at the counter. Food: Vietnamese fusion. I ordered the egg coffee with was smaller than I had expected for $7!!! But it was delicious. I also ordered the chicken wings. The sauce was ok - I wished they would have done the classic wings with fish sauce. They served it with a side of blue cheese. My friend got the basil fries and Banh Mi which she enjoyed. Ambiance: super cute interior. It's small with 3 small tables, 1 communal table l, a lounge area and a stage for entertainment. Overall I liked this little spot in Arlington. I think the prices are a bit high. I think I prefer the beverages more than the food.
I love the coziness of this cafe and it has really unique seating and decor. I actually took inspiration from their plant corner and bought the same plant stand for my new house. The best things to get here are the Vietnamese coffee-based drinks. My go-to used to be the Vietnamese frappe with some jelly added to it but I recently had a taste test with both the hot and cold versions of their cà phê trứng (egg coffee). The hot version was small and concentrated and the iced version is medium sized, thick, and velvety. It is a special treat that I like to indulge in every once in a while and it's worth the short wait. While waiting and enjoying my drink I usually play on the typewriter, fold origami paper cranes, or look at their vintage cameras decorating the back wall. There is limited parking but it is next to other business that have more parking spots (orthodontist).
If you come here strictly for drinks - boba, tea, etc. - it's a nice spot, but for food, not worth the price. I ordered the Papaya Salad, and although it tasted good, it was just papaya with a few leaves - not a salad at all. See the picture. If you Google Papaya Salad and compare it any of those pictures to what was given, it was very disappointing. In fact, for ~$14, it was not worth it at all; even it were $10 it wouldn't have been worth it. The cafe did have a cozy vibe and some live music which was unique, but the place was much smaller than the pictures showed and not as organized/clean as the pictures led on either. I feel this place might have been great when it first opened, but now below average; especially with their prices.
This used to be my all time favorite hangout spot to go with my friends when I lived closer to Arlington! Super cozy inside with giant teddy bears and lots of seating with ambient lights and pretty decorations. Love all the drink options and the pho's really good, my only complaint is how expensive it's gotten for the small portions, I feel like they should be bigger if the price point is increasing that much. Absolutely love this place though, no other vietnamese places compare to the ambiance and good vibes of Chill Zone
The tea flavor is on par with other boba places in the area. The default sweetness level is very sugary, so if you want to taste the tea I would recommend requesting less sugar. On this visit, Chill Zone was out of the regular tapioca boba, so they recommended substituting the "crystal" boba instead. Unfortunately, the flavor doesn't really go well with a black milk tea, so I wouldn't opt for that again in the future. The layout and ambiance of Chill Zone is pretty nice and they've done a lot to make a smaller space comfortable and inviting. They also have a lot of great food options on their menu and I've had a good experience with those. As far as tea only, I'm not sure this would be my first pick but I guess it works in a pinch. Price wise, it is definitely on the higher end for tea since one large black milk tea with boba came out to $8.80 with tax.
Love this neighborhood, hole in the wall Vietnamese cafe! The coffees are some of the most unique and delicious I've had- especially the taro latte and warm egg coffee. The food is equally amazing- the pork bahn mi and pho are obvious, well done staples, but they have such an extensive, creative menu! Great vibes that keep me coming back.
This place surprises me every year. When I first tried this place pre-pandemic, they only had Boba, lattes, and hot teas. Compared to other places and how pricy it was, I always felt they were a 4 star establishment. I come back a year later and they started adding Vietnamese food which I thought was tasty. Again, not enough for me to come back right away. Recently, I went back after YEARS, and now they've added dishes like Peach Sticky rice along with a plethora of menu items. I loved the sticky rice dish! This shows Chill Zone improves every year and has become a very well-rounded establishment. I think after all these years, they deserve my 5 star review. I'm glad they stuck around!

Flowering succulents, multicolored tulips, glass oil lanterns, homey floor seating.The Chill Zone easily feels like a nook away from everything. The small yet photogenic cafe is decorated beautifully with many small details that it is impossible to resist taking a photo. The menu has unique items which automatically drew me to it. I ordered the Vietnamese fried rice cakes snack with eggs. It was a yummy, sizeable snack and something I might possibly try to make at home next time. They also have yogurt and chicken wings. I would be extremely excited to come back if they add any new items to the snack menu. For my drink, I ordered the iced jasmine bubble tea with their homemade raspberry syrup which was delicious. I liked how it was not too sweet and how the raspberry flavoring was subtle. The tapioca balls were smaller than the usual ones found in bubble tea shops in the area. I didn't mind it at all. Note that the price for the bubble tea was slightly more expensive than other shops. The service was very friendly. I literally saw one of the servers dash after a customer outside of the shop to hand her a straw for her bubble tea. This place is perfect for a chill meetup space for friends and could even be a casual first date spot for college peeps and young ones (the "get-comfortable" floor seating deems it so). Just as the name suggests...a relaxing place to have some quiet time over great coffee (viet latte) OH YEAH!!! Loving the vibe and the summer roll (not fried) was pretty good, too. Have to try their keto version of pho and bun dishes. Great customer service and overall nice chilled vibe. We will definitely come back. read more
This is a really cool little cafe out here in Arlington. Vietnamese base and they've got a bunch of smoothies, boba tea, sandwiches, and coffee. I really enjoyed my Taro smoothie with boba and it was made with fresh taro and not powder. Many of their fruit smoothies are actually made with the fresh ingredients which is always better than using the powders. It was a front refreshing cold drink on a hot day and I look forward to trying more of their stuff. read more

Cute place for coffee or tea. They have some food like banh mi, sandwiches, breakfast, etc. I would come back and try them one day. I got milk tea with boba in a glass bottle. The bottle costs an extra dollar and the boba is a lot smaller than usual like tapioca almost. I enjoyed the milk tea and boba but wasn't like the most amazing thing ever. The viet coffee is rich and not as sweet. It's a nice place to study and hang out, and the people are really friendly. There is really nice decoration, great for pictures. This place is unexpectedly cute. It's very unassuming from the outside and very hipster/minimalist on the inside, with bar seating and a lowered table off to the left side where you sit on the floor (and take off your shoes) Japanese-style. Very cute. I was a little disappointed with the bubble tea selection, though (can't comment on the food, as I went there just to satisfy my recurring bubble tea craving!). First of all, they definitely do NOT have a plethora of flavors to try... just a few classic milk teas (Jasmine, black, or matcha tea) and then some slushies/smoothies (which were very unique!). I personally, though, love my milk teas and was hoping they'd have some of the common flavors like almond or Thai tea. That was the first disappointment. The second was learning they only have mini bubbles! Some might like this as it doesn't require the same level of chewing effort as regular, larger sized boba. But I am a boba fanatic, so this just didn't do for me. They do have something I've never seen/heard of before called "tear drop" boba... but it was more a jelly consistency than I was used to. I ended up with a "mango snow" bubble tea drink, which was HUGE and definitely tasted of fresh mango. It was slushy-form, so beware drinking it too quickly. It had good flavor and a creamy touch of milk on top. Great summer drink. I also got a sip of the "power C" smoothie, which was basically a guava slushy that had tangy li hing powder mixed in. Strong guava flavor and also would be terrific on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, i was there on a cold, rainy night, and so these selections, while good, just weren't quite enough for what I was looking for. Have to add that I also tried a nutella cookie, which was a disappointment. It was basically just two thin sugar cookies pressed together with the TINIEST dab of hardened nutella between them. Not awful, but if it had just been made with a more generous nutella serving, I would have been 500x happier. read more

I love the atmosphere of this place! The Frosted Mango with the mini boba is amazing and to die for!! It tastes like fresh and sweet mangos (which is so so good)! I've also had their Vietnamese Coffee frappe and the Power "C" frappe (which is guava) as well and those are also really good! read more

A unique take on bubble tea. This quant mom and pop store is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall; a bit hard to find but worth the trip! Upon entering, you can immediately tell they put a lot of effort in the decor and layout. They even have a section with floor tables where you take off your shoes.. it interestingly enough reminded me of living back in Asia. The bubble tea options were so different that it took a while to make a decision. I eventually got the Power C (guava). If you like tart slushes, you'll enjoy this. Their bubbles were mini bubbles and I thought they were a little stingy with the bubbles. All in all, although I wasn't in love, it was a good experience and I'd recommend at least giving it a try! read more

Solid grilled pork vermicelli! The pork is super flavorful and the vegetables are fresh, which is great. The staff was very friendly and they bring the food out to you. I was unimpressed with the black milk tea with boba, but it's honestly not bad, just not anything special. The boba itself was a little bland, so that was disappointing. But the food was great and there's plenty of table space to do work, with really relaxing music and very nice mood lighting. I'd love to come back and try the taro frappe! read more
Definitely a "Chill Zone." Got to work on my assignment using their FREE Wi-Fi (password: bemybffs). My first time visit I tried the Viet Frap w/ tiny black bubbles and it was very good! There is a $10 credit card minimum limit, so I decided to also try Rice Vermicelli w/ grilled Pork. Just that I had late brunch and got here after 10:30 on Friday, so I asked if they could hold on to my order until little later. They honored my request as I worked on my laptop... for about three hours later, I took my dish to-go and it was very good as well! I took pictures of their menu (below images)! I will definitely come back here to try other drinks and food! Wonderful place to sit and study for a bit. read more

I definitely like the vibe in this place. It is definitely chill, as the name indicates. There is some wooden giraffe, drawings on the wall, and just that overall hipster feel. There are mostly stools and not much seating. I usually prefer some regular chairs that have a back. Sitting on a stool just seems to be uncomfortable for me. The menu wasn't too big which I appreciate. They have specialty coffee, teas, slushy drinks, and some small bites. I got the taro frap. There are no sizes to choose, which is fine with me. The taro frap was quite large, almost too much, but I suppose it should be large for $6+. I got it without whipped cream. It tasted fresh and was pretty good. I did finish it, so definitely enjoyed it some. It wasn't too sweet which was definitely a positive. However, they use small bubbles. I prefer the larger ones that I could chew on. The lady at the register was very friendly and seems like she cares very much about her customers and the business. I didn't have any of the food, but maybe I will try that along with a different drink next time. I want this business to do well, so I will definitely return and give them a chance. She gave me a rewards card and after purchasing 6 drinks, you get a free one. read more

Such a wonderful discovery! I love this place. Had a flat white that was perfection (see photo). Also had a pan fried rice toast with egg (not sure if that's the exact name) that was so delicious I forgot to take a photo. :) The owner (very nice man) is also a 30 year pro photographer and his decor reflects it. Wish I lived closer...I'd be back every day! By the way...my wife and I just happened to be their very first customers of 2018! read more

This place is a corner of heaven and really great for the Instagrammer! It offers a nice little cafe unlike anything else I have come across in the NOVA area. Parking is a little sparce, I could see it being packed during a busier period. I ordered the taro smoothie while a friend ordered the Matcha tea latte. The taro smoothie was very thick and had taro chunks in it, so it might not appeal to everyone. You can pay a dollar extra to get your drink in a vintage milk bottle to take home! The matcha latte was very good, light and refreshing! They use organic matcha and organic milk! Our only qualm was that they didn't have board games! Definitely a great unique place to hang out with friends and would be elevated by some boardgames!! It is clear that everything was very well planned out and thought through. read more

Chill Zone is one of my new favorite places for some good food and tea with friends. We checked this place out as a recommendation for a study alternative from the library. It did not disappoint! The ambience is mellow and inviting with friendly staff and multiple different seating options ranging from bar stools to shoes off on the floor seating. The noise level was much quieter than other cafes around town so we were able to get some a good amount of work done and then enjoy some beef banh mi (added egg), chicken wings, and lemon grass pork vermicelli with spring roll. What makes this place special is the homey feel created by the personal touches in the decor and welcoming aura of the owner and his staff. read more

I absolutely love this place. It's my new favorite boba place. The drinks is so delicious. I had tried frosty mango, Viet frap, matcha frap, taro frap, and the melon valley drink. They are all delicious and yummy! Whatever you get, you could really taste the flavor. I also like how they use fresh mangos and they put a bunch in your drink. As for the food, I've only tried the fried rice cake. That is definitely one of my favorite food, and this place makes it so good. The chef makes it very crispy and you can hear the crunch when you bite into it. I also like how you have the option to but your drink into a glass bottle. The bottle and the place has a cute vibe to it. They have a section where you could take a photo of your drink with a cute background. The one thing I kinda don't like is the small boba. It makes your photo cute, however it might be too small for me. They also have the tear drop boba and it taste very good. It tasted like honey lemon grass and had a jelly texture to it. Definitely coming back for all my boba needs. read more

Went here again today after a while and loved the extended menu! Everything was fresh and delicious as expected. We got the banh mi, wings, chicken pho, and egg rolls! Even though we don't live around here, I'll definitely make the 30 minute trip on a free weekend morning. read more

This place does live up to the name of chill. I really like ambiance and the staff was very friendly. However, the pho was the ok. The meat was a little tough but they do give you a lot of meat. Instead of bubble tea they have a taro frappe with mini bubbles which had a bit of weird consistency. I would like to give this place another try with something from grill as that all looked very tasty. read more

This is our 4th time here & we ar working our way through the menu. We had the Viet Frap, the taro, the Power "C" guava, & mango, all with bubbles... we have not been disappointed yet... the bubbles are smaller in size, if you get the bigger bubbles they are let and sweeter. They offer foam for the drinks, which is good. The foam is salty which adds another flavor element to the drink. The place is small with a limit amount of seating, Love the bathroom door. read more

One of the few bubble tea places that uses FRESH fruit. My favorite flavors are the taro and mango because it has a nice smooth taste compared to powdered teas found elsewhere. The volcano mango has an interesting flavor, there isn't really a kick but you can definitely taste the chili powder. I spent a couple of hours here doing work and it was nice and calm without too many loud customers. I would definitely recommend it as a study spot! The Chill Zone makes one of the best cappuccinos in the area. They use high quality coffee beans and really take their time preparing it for you (not to mention, they have a top end coffee machine). Beyond their tasty drinks, they also sell authentic Vietnamese street food - I recommend the Vietnamese Meatball sandwich, it's yummy! Also, not a lot of people know this, but their chicken pho is on point (I've tried the beef pho but it's not as good, plus it makes the broth more greasy/less clean). A few cons: the chicken wings weren't that tasty and the menu is a little hard to navigate - they have their drink menu written above the register, food items laminated on a sheet of paper and pictures of their food displayed on a tablet. The cafe is a bit small but quaint and has lots of cute decorations. Check it out if you're in the area! read more

The sweetest family run cafe. We stopped by today even though it was thanksgiving for a quick stop to sort ourselves out and they were open with the whole family present. They even gave us cake for thanksgiving. There's a lot of love at this cafe . Thanks for having us. read more

This is my new favorite spot! They have the coziest setup with low tables and comfy pillows to sit and do work- great atmosphere and delicious food, coffee and boba! Only downside is it's a $10 minimum on cards which seems a bit steep! read more

Cute little place where you can chat and enjoy your drinks. We ordered the Volcano mango drink? (Think that's what it's called) it was super good!! We ordered some food as well. The food does take some time and the wait isn't worth it. Banh mi and wings were okay. Stick to the drinks when you come here. read more
