Chips & Salsa (half of them were just crumbs)
Tony G.

First time in my life having Chili's. Came here for the memes before a concert and also because I've had a $25 Chili's gift card I haven't used in almost 4 years. At any rate, per my wife's suggestion, we got the triple dipper and steak + shrimp fajitas + a Coke Zero. Also signed up for Chili's rewards program for free chips and salsa. The triple dipper was fun. Nothing was necessarily out of this world, but totally enjoyable in the greasy American food diner type way. Southwest egg rolls were interesting. Nice flakey exterior. Chicken tenders were decently crispy. And mozz was crispy although weak cheese pull. The steak was a bit dry, but overall the fajitas were solid. Shrimp was ok, too. Chips and salsa were good although my biggest gripe was half the chips were basically crushed out. So not the funnest. As far as vibe goes... it's exactly what you'd expect from Chili's. Good ol' chain sit-down. A bit pricey though. After the gift card, total came out to about $33 after tip. So as far as food goes, a solid 3 stars! But an extra one has to go to the great service. Waiter was great at giving us extra tortillas, refilling drinks, etc. so shoutout to him! Overall, not a bad choice for a pre-concert meal!

I know chain restaurants get a lot of flak but I had a great time at Chili's. This was my first time and it reminds me of Cheesecake Factory lol. Of course I had to get the triple dipper! Our server William was very nice and refilled our waters very often. Ambiance was a casual, bar feel. My choices were the big mouth bites, honey chipotle chicken crispers, and the original mozzarella sticks--nay, BRICKS. All for me. The chicken was so good. It was the highlight of my meal. The big mouth bites were eh, kind of dry and reminds me of the burgers I used to get in school. The mozzarella sticks were just as they said it would be in the TikTok videos--super cheese pull. But one was more than enough for me. All this for $17. What a steal! Huge sodium bomb but overall had a good time.

Food

Food was ok, 1.5/3. Service was good .5/.5. Ambiance was good, .5/.5. Did not get extra point 0/1.

Triple Dipper

Finally made my way to a chilis to try the infamous triple dipper and I can't lie it was good, but not GREAT. The 3 for me deal on the other hand was fantastic, I would've rather we ordered two of those because it came with an appetizer (soup, salad or chips with salsa) and an entree (cheapest options were burgers or chicken sandwich but the smash burger was REALLY yummy). For a Friday night, it was pretty busy around 7pm but the wait wasn't too long even without a reservation (for 2 people) and the waitress was super friendly. Noise level was as expected, you did have a to speak to have a conversation but it wasn't so loud where you had to shout to be heard. I also think they redid the interior so the restaurant doesn't look as outdated as it did years ago. Overall I'd definitely visit again especially if I'm craving some regular American food such as a burger.

Patron Marg with Mango (~$12)

Ordered: Patron Marg with Mango (~$12) Triple Dipper (~$18): fried mozzarella, Big Mouth bites, and honey-chipotle Chicken Crispers with ranch & marinara sauce Aya's take: My first time at Chili's and it went a little different than expected! I came here for one thing and one thing only - the infamous Triple Dipper. We started off with some drinks; the Patron Marg with Mango was way too sweet. Also, either the waitress was confused by my order or was trying to upsell me into getting a more expensive margarita. Either way, it was overly sweet and I didn't really taste any mango flavor. Next, the Triple Dipper came but it originally had the Southwest Eggrolls instead of the Big Mouth bites that I ordered. My friends were also missing sauces, got the wrong sides, etc. They took back my entree and brought it back without the Southwest Eggrolls and told me those would come out separately. I actually waited for them to bring them; after all, it was my first time here and I wanted to get a photo of my Triple Dipper! It was just disappointing that a simple order was messed up for every person within our table of 4. I will say the Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers were delicious and the Fried Mozzarella were just as good as people say with an awesome cheese pull. The Big Mouth Bites were dry and could absolutely be skipped, in my opinion. All in all, I'm disappointed considering it was my first time at Chili's but I can see what the Triple Dipper hype is about.

After catching a movie on Friday night, we decided to stop by Chili's in Secaucus for a late bite since it's literally a 2 minute walk from there. The place was busy, mostly with high school kids, likely enjoying their summer break. Our server and staff were friendly and attentive. However, I was disappointed with my drink--it had too much of the mixer, obviously I still finished it, and didn't want to complain since it was busy. The dessert was as expected, chocolate cookie, with ice cream, can't really mess it up! The overall experience was okay, but the drink definitely needs some improvement.

This place is great to eat at a good price and lots of food. The plates are big and delicious. The waitress was nice, he recommended good food and was very kind. The ambiance is good for families and for watching sports.

Chilis on a Saturday in the late afternoon was a great time to go. Was able to snag a table for two quite easily. Have to say that the triple dipper and salad that we ordered was definitely an improvement from the last order I made here. Their salads are very tasty (probably not healthy at all but worth ordering) and the triple dipper comes with great options so people can try a little bit of everything, perfect for people who can't decide on just one app. Service was also great, the servers kept checking in with us to ensure things were going well. Staff today was attentive and that made a world of difference.

Bartender trying to catch up after leaving the bar unmanned for 10 minutes as I waited for someone to acknowledge me.
Andres C.

The bartender was horrible. She literally walked past me when I sat down to go to the back where she stayed for 10 minutes. She couldn't even muster the professionalism and customer service common sense to hand me a menu and let me know she had an emergency to take care of in the back. She comes back and doesn't even look at me. She mumbles a token apology that doesn't explain the inefficiency. The managers are standing around talking to themselves excitedly while the bar (with several patrons) sat unmanned. Unprofessional.

Warm chips and salsa! Addictive!!!!

I have to tip my hat off to Chillis because they understand what the economy struggles are and they have managed to keep dining out affordable and out do the fast food chains pricing in the process! I got the 3 for me for 10.99 and its a lot of food!! I had the big smash burger which was flavorful and juicy. Everything was cooked well and made for a great quick lunch!! This location is nice. Clean and has tons of seating options whether at a booth, table or bar. Will def return when im in the mood for a good burger that wont break the bank!!!

a little bit of everything

Chili's really hits the spot sometimes. It's gives you a warm embrace when you want some comfort food. I'm sure mukbang people love Chili's. This location is great - in a really lovely shopping mall plaza. Plenty of parking. Inside was clean and updated enough where it felt modern and comfortable (not stale and outdated). Service was quick and kind. Kudos to the guy tonight that was in charge of bringing the "birthday hype". We had 2 birthdays at our table and when I tell you this guy yelled so loud to grab everyone's attention...it was impressive haha. Can't go wrong with: mini sliders, wings, chips with salsa and guac, and chocolate lava cake. Would pass on: the street corn (too much mayo- it just tasted oddly greasy). Do I feel great after eating this meal? No. Am I happy I had it? Indifferent, BUT it was enjoyable in the moment and I will return again to Chili's.

Ordered a watermelon sangria but it never came so he just deducted it and app coupon at end. So much food and plenty of leftovers for $54! Definitely would return! The tacos, wow, I could've probably eaten six more if you put them in front of me. I like that the meat is chopped in small pieces and grilled to perfect without being sloppy yet full. It looks like they make their tortillas fresh in house which you can taste the authenticity and they did something interesting with the onions where they weren't chopped rather sliced and slightly grilled. In addition, the flautas were a little questionable at a glance if your visual eater because the lettuce did have carrots, the cream had a bit of a pink tint, and the chicken wasn't grilled rather finally shredded. Nonetheless, the flavor did not disappoint the flat sauce also came on the bed of lettuce, sour cream, tomatoes, a bit of cheese, and of course, avocado. I ended up ordering an order to go and a Fanta strawberry in a glass bottle. One thing that I can't say is the staff was super friendly and helpful. I had a few questions in the way that they prepared the food and the back staff quickly stepped in to answer all of them and price wise. It's a little pricier, but what restaurant isn't two orders and an extra taco with a drink cost about $40 which consider considering the quality freshness and location.

Seating is limited as the place is very small. There's maybe 5-6 tables and they were all taken at the time. I ordered the al pastor tacos (4 per order) and the chorizo quesadillas (3 per order). The tacos were good. They also come with a side of some radishes and cucumbers. But the star was the quesadilla. Even after transit, it was still crispy. These were packed with ingredients - lots of chorizo, cheese, and lettuce (and possibly some crack). Both are served with a side of this hot sauce and green salsa, which I loved and smothered on my food. The quality and price point is amazing. I feel like at a lot of Mexican places I've ordered from, you can only have one or the other but not at Viva Mexico. I think this might be the best Mexican food I've had in the area, and also the cheapest, which is rare. I almost don't want to write that because I want to be selfish and keep that a secret, but at the same time, I feel like everyone should know about this place because it's just that great. Not the restaurants fault. We ordered the Tacos Gobernador, ground beef (Picadillo) Burrito, the guacamole and chips, and the Cinnamon Honey Sopapillas. The burrito was delicious!! We would order it again. It's a 9/10. The tacos are a 6/10. We orders them with the pork. Soft blue corn shell. Small amount of meat and onion with cilantro. Cilantro and onion fresh. Meat had good flavor. This dish is overpriced in our opinion. We would not get them again. The guacamole was fresh and delicious. We say 8/10.
