Tonight we rode down to Chili's (approx. 30 min drive from our home). Our son wanted to try the new Nashville Hot Mozz sticks. We enjoy Chili's eggrolls and don't eat here often so we were happy to go on an outing. Party of 4, got seated pretty quick for a Friday night. Hostess was friendly. Waitress was nice. Drinks came quick with bottomless chips and salsa we ordered. Food didn't take too long. So all that = . The problem ... And to be honest CORPORATE should be absolutely ashamed! We got the Nachos, add chicken, add $2.00 guac. We were thinking it would be the size of their salsa bowl...good healthy fat from Avocado...we enjoy guac so Ok we will pay $2.00. However, THIS is what arrived (minus 1 fork going through - cause the more I sat there looking at it, the more annoyed I got ). When the waitress came by I asked if this was the $2.00 guac. She confirmed, "yes, this is the size of the $2.00 guac". That is ridiculous and ya'll should be embarrassed! Went to the local Chilis in Ormond Beach FL We have not been in several years. It used to be one of our favorite restaurants we could count on. Not this day, and I would venture to say, it will not likely improve. We were seated quickly in the mid afternoon. We ordered ice tea because the new menu did NOT disclose any of the alcohol drinks pricing. Not a good sign as most high end restaurants do so, regardless of price. We ordered chips and salsa and our entree of fajitas for two. 40 minutes later our server stopped by to tell us her tablet had a glitch and our order was not placed. She stated the manager would stop by and would be able to take care of us as a result. Well, she did stop by but offered nothing, including reasons for he long delay. Twenty more minutes went by as our food arrived. It all looked good as usual but the rice was not cooked through, It was harder than al dente! Regardless, we continued to eat the steak and chicken. The chicken and all the veggies were perfect. The meat was very tough and could not be cut up for the tortillas. As the check arrived, there was no adjustment nor other offering. Full price! Stopped here for a quick lunch and was quickly greeted and seated by Kaylee. I asked for a suggestion on a burger and was told if I wanted a bacon burger it's actually cheaper to order the old timer and add bacon than ordering the bacon cheeseburger. I ended up ordering that along with chips and salsa for the 3 for $10.99 deal. She even put my burger in as "extra pink" to make sure I got close to a medium rare burger. Almost immediately after getting my chips and salsa my burger was ready and tasted better than any burger I've ordered from chilis in the past! While eating Kaylee was very attentive and hard working, covering several times for the hostess while she was cleaning tables. First time at Chili's I usually dont come to these places because I eat very plain not spicy our server was Manxavier she was very fast with cleaning up and always refilling drinks. Polite and courteous.. Joined the wait-list before getting here because I figured it would be busy due to the races. It was rained out though, so not bad. We were able to be seated in the bar area tucked in the back. I saw they had the StrawEddy margarita as their Marg of the month. It has tequila and strawberry. I'm usually not a tequila person, but I'd never had a margarita before, so I decided to give it a try at my favorite restaurant since age 7. My friend only ordered 3 mozzarella sticks. My kiddo ordered cheese pizza and salad, and I ordered an entree size house salad with grilled chicken. I brought my own gluten free croutons to add to it. Apparently the kitchen wasn't paying attention at one point because when the server brought the other food, she said they made it with everything, even though she added allergy to it 3 times due to my gluten and dairy issues, as I saw on the check later. THIS CHILES HAS OWED ME 89.01$ for 2 months now. I keep calling to get this issue fixed for a refund and they tell me it has and will get the money back in a week or 2. We came in with a group of 8 of us. There was a 20 minute wait so we opted to sit at the bar to eat. The bartender took great care of all us. I ordered a chicken rice bowl. It was large and filling. I went to my first Chili's in Houston about 40 years ago. There was always a line out the door. I must admit I have been disappointed many times at many location since. Not today! It is a classic Chilies. The new table top systems allow you to order and pay without a server. This does help with time constraints but service can sometimes be a bit slow. Overall good margaritas and the usual food choices. I prefer the fajitas when I go so I get to make my own. I am surprised that they charge $4 for chips and salsa. Most Mexican style restaurants give this for free with your meal. read more

For a budget price restaurant, the Chili's on North Williamson in Ormond Beach is great! Mostly waited on by Michelle over the last 2 years, and she is quintessential at taking orders, bringing the food and drinks fast and outfitting us with containers and a bag for extra. She is pleasant, friendly and efficient. We never feel rushed, but her and her team bring everything quickly so when we would like to leave soon we are able. Food and drinks are very good BTW. This place is nice. First though, we were not greeted and waited a few moments to be noticed but no big deal. The rest of everything was GREAT! We were a party of 5 including a 2 yr-old. She enjoyed her kids menu, and her meal. The waitress was very attentive and made sure we were all happy. My parents and grandmother all got festive 4th of July drinks and enjoyed them thoroughly. All the food was delish. The manager stopped by our table to check on us and he let my talkative stepdad chat him up. Always a winner going to chili's. Always got drink specials which is a plus. Great start to the meal whether you are going for the standard chips and salsa, or an order of their excellent guacamole, or the queso dip. Food always is fresh and tasty. Great selection. Also they do a good job to keep menu fresh by constantly moving new things on the menu, but of course keeping some of the classics around too. This specific chili's had a great, friendly service. Food was good, the steak was a little dry but good in flavor. I didn't have very many complaints... except for one issue I indirectly experienced. Four Hispanic men came into the Chilis and my server gave them a look as they walked up to her, I assume they hadn't been to a chilis before. She told them she would seat them and to move back over into the little lobby area. They did. As she assisted a table, she kept looking over at them with the same disgusted look on her face as she did when she had sent them back to the lobby area. They got seated at the bar as they pointed they wanted to be seated at the bar, all four of them and the bartender asked them what they would all like. They all wanted the fajitas trio and some margaritas (I think they all wanted the margaritas), anyhow... she asked for all of their ID's, as expected, but I guess some of them seem surprised, probably just because they weren't the youngest lot of men. So then, once the orders had been placed after ID's were shown, the bartender and the waitress, they both get to talking about these guys. Now, I don't know if they knew they were talking decently loud, and I had already had enough of hearing this conversation they were having. My ketchup was empty and I made sure to walk over myself, instead of letting them finish their very rude conversation in which they were degrading this party of four Hispanic men. I said I would be swapping out my ketchup for the one over by the bartender, even though I could have got one from the surrounding tables. It was my way of being non-confrontational, as I have a bit of an issue keeping my cool about these kind of things, because it's just not right. As a Hispanic individual myself, if I were to have taken the same actions, would be called racist and asked why I'm in the United States, etc etc. I think the most logical thing to do if a party isn't sure of what the protocol is in a place, you help build that experience into a positive one just by guiding them. If they have a positive experience, feeling welcomed, they'll come back. You keep a customer, potentially even regulars. It's common sense to me, really.... But instead both of those women chose to degrade these men in a not so subtle manner. The waitress was a slightly bigger girl and the bartender was this smaller girl. Although they were both polite to me, I didn't appreciate the way they treated those men. The ambiance was good, but this experience has ruined it for me. I hope I don't see this happen again or I simply won't have my business at a place that's going to be racially discriminatory. I was there from about 8:30-9:30~ish PM. Hopefully this review is acknowledged and addressed by management. I just didn't want to start an argument and make people uncomfortable, since I know I would get heated and not have the most polite way to talk to them about it. read more

My co-workers love coming here for reasons that I can't quite understand. I mean, it's not like there's a lack of dining options in Ormond Beach. Chili's is pretty mediocre anyway, but combine that with lots of college students working who don't really care that much about details and it gets kinda messy. Start with the messy table that they made us wait for while they set it up. They got the chairs right, but they didn't wipe down one of the tables and there were still crayons from the last guest (unless they started giving them out to everyone, regardless of whether or not they plan to color on the menu). Drinks are two-for-one for most of the evening and instead of serving them as needed, they just bring two out to the table. Sounds like a lovely idea until you start on margarita #2 and it's watered down and creates a puddle on the table. According to their ads, Chili's is known for its ribs. Unfortunately they're pretty awful. I tried two different kinds and both were bad cuts of meat and I had more of the dry rub in my teeth than in my stomach.
