Old food, half of the items missing and management doesn't seem to care they walk right past you like you're invisible . But good luck people.

Southwestern Grilled Chicken buried under a blanket of shredded cheese
    Shannon H.

Initially, the server seemed attentive, but not after the food arrived. My water never got refilled, and that's all I was drinking. We were there a couple hours, plenty of time to swing by with a water pitcher. My southwestern chicken salad came with a mound of shredded cheese all over the top, lettuce barely visible under the dairy blanket. I love me some cheese, don't get me wrong, but not at the expense of hiding the rest of the ingredients like it was nachos (mmm, nachos). The chair didn't want to scoot when I needed it to, like it was stuck to the floor. I enjoyed my time with friends even though my salad and water refills were lackluster. Handy having the checks on the table device so we could all take care of our own bill.

Black grease corn and dry ribs

Wow the food was bad. The service was okay but they were all confused as to who was going to actually wait on us and everything took a long time to get to us. They forgot about our queso order but did get it to us later. I think they used the corn we were served to clean the greasy off the grill. Gross. The ribs were so dry we just started laughing and coming up with ideas of what else they could be used for. We won't be back.

I've been to Chili's in quite a few places in my time. This was the first time being in the Clovis restaurant. As always the food was delicious (usually a burger). I ordered guacamole this tIme as well and was surprised at how good it was. Our waiter was good, maybe a little slow with my coffee, but he still did a great job. Overall it was a great experience and next time I am passing through Clovis, I will stop by again.

This was maybe the third time I've eaten at the Rails, and none of them have been "Fine Dining"…read moreexperiences (contrary to what they might label themselves as on Google). The Rails is Fine Dining if you've never been past the Curry County line. I ordered the "Fettuccine Michaelangelo with Ribeye Bolognese;" my wife ordered the Blackened Salmon. I put my dish in quotes because, while the name might inspire a sense of grandeur, what the "Fettucine Michaelangelo" actually constitutes is about 3/4 of a pound of Barilla pasta (prepared fresh in-house, out of the box) and maybe 2 ounces of regular ground beef with a few decorative varnishes. Really, it was just beef stroganoff, and not even very good beef stroganoff (certainly not $30). I've had better in the DFAC at Camp Lemonnier. My wife's salmon was fine, nothing to write home about. The doctored up mashed potatoes were a little bland and definitely didn't taste prepared in-house. To sum up the totality of my experiences of the food there...I don't think they make 80% of their menu in-house, which is pretty damning for a restaurant that has the entirety of Clovis convinced its an upscale experience. Most of their menu tastes like it came on a truck from a shipping facility in Albuquerque that isn't even on par with what Darden restaurants order in bulk. That being said, the food isn't completely terrible and inedible. It's just absolutely not worth what they're charging for it, and it's either dishonest or ignorant to pretend it's fancier than it actually is. It's a 3 star hotel restaurant wearing a 4.5 star veneer. It's lipstick on a pig. It's the Key and Peele skit where Jordan Peele wears a tuxedo to enjoy the hotel's Continental Breakfast, and treats it like a special occasion. Food aside, the service is pretty average to below average. Other reviews highlight the service, so maybe my experiences have been one-offs, but given the trend of restaurant service in Clovis, in general, I'm reticent to discount them. Our waitress was nice enough, but she was unable to answer even basic questions (like which salad dressing she recommended). She did let us know the dressings aren't made in-house (another tell). I've worked as a prep cook in a local restaurant that branded itself on par with Chilis and Applebees, and I had to make their (wider selection of) dressings from actual ingredients every day. Most of the servers *might* be qualified to be front of house at a Cracker Barrel in any other city not isolated from the rest of civilization by 100 miles, but "upscale" waitstaff they are not. So is the story of most restaurants here. It is what it is. Overall, pretty mid experience. The atmosphere and concept are nice, but they're nothing more than a nice coat of paint that only serves to convince those who have never actually been to an upscale restaurant. Expect to spend a minimum of $100-$150 for boxed pasta, Choice steak, and Sysco™ Thousand Island from a frozen plastic bag. Save that money for gas and go somewhere nicer in Lubbock. They have trains there, too.

Our lunch visit was on 10.12.2025. My daughters gravitated towards the mermaid photos hanging above each booth. There was a fake aquarium at the bar. Still, it was mesmerizing to watch. I made my girls get on the shark with the saddle. Good solid embarrassing core memory for the pre-teens. Lol. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. She was quite honest when she said she would prefer another employee to make my margarita. + Salty Mermaid margarita ($9) - I liked it! + Yard Bird ($13.99) - my oldest requested the chipotle aioli sauce on the side, but she ended up enjoying this chicken sandwich + Fish Tacos ($12.99) - I wasn't crazy about the slightly over-fried fish. The batter was a bit like that I would use for catfish. Hefty portion of fish, though. And I hated the Tropical Coleslaw (with pineapple added). I love pineapple. Love coleslaw, but not mixed and not their recipe. Something wasn't right. + Shrimp Scampi ($19.99) - I wish I had ordered this because my youngest allowed me to try a bite. Simple yet satisfying. She never received her side order of fries and we kept forgetting to ask about it then she didn't want them anymore. This is a fun place. I would be back... order a drink.
