This is my favorite local restaurant. Sure its a chain but on Long Island I have found you are better off sticking to a chain restaurant rather than gamble on some independent - at least for a cheap meal. Now, each Chilis is different so I don't recommend all of them. If you got bucks, go to a good restaurant and maybe you will get a good meal, but if you are on a budget like me and want to feed your family, you can't go wrong here. I particularly like the fajitas which are almost always good. Chicken and steak fajitas are good. Shrimp too. The Margarita grilled chicken is good too if you are not that hungry. Was there on 3/1 at 7pm for dinner. From the poor service to the kiosks not working to log in for rewards ( due to the restaurant running out of batteries.... thats right no batteries ) to the 30 minute wait for cold food and warm drinks ...... I tried to contact Chilis via there corporate web site but have received 2 emails asking for my check number, what our party ate, drank, name/description of the wait staff....... For starters, I don't like the kiosks on the table, it takes away from the personal service that we go to restaurants for. They sat us in the back with a full view inside the kitchen, and when I see paper and garbage on the floor, it totally repulsed me. The service was not that great, the waiter seemed like he was in the Twilight Zone, and my son commented that he saw him bite his nails. Ewwwww!!! My Husband and I tried to dine on a Monday night at Chilis on Hempstead Turnpike, bethpage NY. We wanted to have some margaritas and appetizers. We arrived at 5:15 pm and were told they have low staff members and to wait 15 minutes before being seated. Mind you, there was very few people in the whole restaurant. Sure, no problem. Then 20 minutes goes by and we finally get seated. We now sit for another 20 minutes without being recognized. A couple sits to the left of us and within 2 minutes order is being taken. I try to be calm. Sit for another 5 to 10 minutes. Then a family of 4 sits to the right of us. Within 5 minutes the server goes right to them. I was blown away. 50 minutes of sitting there and nothing. We got up told the manager or whomever that individual was that seated us that was beyond disgusting service and the lack of any care. I never write any bad reviews and actually this is my first YELP review ever. I still cannot believe how we were completely dismissed. They completely lost out on a great TIP. My Wife and i got the 2 for $20 and it was delicious. we got the Fried Pickle appitizer-Yummy! Then we choose the Mango Chile Talapia and mango chile Chicken. It was small but perfect. As for the kids, They ate from the kids menu, My daughter had the pizza with manderin and my son had the burger bites with mash Potatoes-the mash potatoes here are always great! So me and my friends came here tonight for a bday celebration. All went well for the most part, food was pretty much what you'd expect from a chili's but there was a bit of a fiasco towards the end when it came time to pay the bill. Let me start by saying that I had mentioned to my server Kristen that we were splitting the bill and she informed me that I could do it on the computer at the end. Unfortunately when the time came to do that there was a bit of a glitch and we had to do it manually, which nobody could have predicted. Anyway Kristen had to then split up our bills herself and get us all change while she was waiting god knows how many other tables. I tried to do it myself but couldn't figure it out and I felt so bad she had to do all that work. She looked like her head was going to explode! So I will say that Kristen went above and beyond for all of us and I'm sorry we made her job so difficult, being a former food service employee I understand how hectic it can be. We ordered a large party platter to serve for New Year's Eve. It says "feed up to 8 people." It barely fed 4 people, not that the food was that edible. It was pretty embarrassing to serve, honestly. The ceaser salad was probably the best of the whole meal, even with the stale croutons. In this "large" party platter were 4 tiny pieces of steak and 4 slices of garlic bread with some tasteless brisket on top. Everything was delivered on time but the food was cold. Gianna (sp?) was our server. She has been our server before and recognized us right away. Gianna is super attentive, ready to give suggestions with both cocktails and food items. We have never had to look for her when we had a request or question, she seems to appear at just the right time. She makes you feels as if you are her one and only priority even when then dinning room is full. When substituting items that come with your meal, she is quick with suggestions. I've had by far the worst experience at Chilis. I will never go back here again!! First off , I order a Long Island Ice Tea, and I get my drink.! As I am sipping it , I notice a dead fly in my drink, And so they take the drink back. Obviously , they ask me if I want something else to drink, So I say a Sprite I guess , so I can clearly see inside the cup! I thought ,okay it happens and give it another try! Although I am not a fan of giant restaurant chains I was quite surprised by Chilli's. Great service, good food and the prices are unbelievable to be honest. For one - Happy Hour is apparently all day is 2 for 1 for selected drinks. I got Margaritas and let me tell you they were nice and strong surprisingly for a happy hour special. Can't even describe how messed up this is i will never ever ever give them business again. I do not eat out often due to covid and are especially aware of the restrictions so I called ahead to make sure they could accommodate me and have a nice evening out with my family. The person who answered said " we can seat a party of three with no wait up until 9 no problem " I get there at 8:45 and the manager says with an attitude " we're not seating anyone at this time " I stated that we called ahead and drive out of our way to come here and at this point to leave and go somewhere worse will be too late. My wife,my daughter and I stopped in for lunch on a rainy Saturday. Friendly staff and fair service. Restaurant was quiet compared to dinner service. Portion sizes are above average and they brought my daughter's meal out first as requested. We were not in a rush so the speed that our drinks and meals were brought out was acceptable. Not our first time here. Everything is consistent from time to time so we will return because we know what to expect. Went to this Chili's yesterday afternoon with my wife and son, asked to be seated near a window because they keep the place like a cave without any lighting, but was told they didn't have a server for that area. I guess they can't walk 4 feet to the left to make a customer happy these days. The server was very nice, but mine and my sons food came out cold as ice. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed and plan on never going back. I wouldn't recommend this place to a dog. Came here for the new 3 course menu deal for $10 per person. It was a fantastic deal! We were seated quickly at a booth. Server was great and very attentive. I got the blue moon beer which was 2 for 1 special however the glasses are smaller than typical. 2 of us had the salad to start while one had the nachos and salsa. The nachos were very thin and crisp and hot out of the oven. We quickly devoured the huge basket. For the main entre, 2 had the chicken fajita and 1 had a colossal burger and fries. The burger was juicy and the chicken was extremely tender and well seasoned. Next we all got our own personal chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream on top. Came back to my old stomping grounds and what a disappointment. The waiter we had was TERRIBLE. I wish I could tell you his name but he didn't even introduce himself. Well I should note it took about 10 minutes for him to actually acknowledge us sitting there he only walked passed us about 12 times before asking if we wanted a drink. To get a coke and a water took about another 10 minutes and 7 trips of him walking passed our table empty handed and ignoring us. We got out drinks finally and ordered food. Before I could finish my order he walked away. Our food came out surprisingly quick but of course wrong. When I tried to correct our order which he wrote down so please tell me how you can mess it ya?? The waiter looked bored and like he didn't care. When our meals were "corrected" he forgot the add one and huffed. Never checked to see if we needed anything or refills. When we asked for the check because the machine wasn't working he gave us just the part to write in his tip and not the actual receipt. Couldn't even find him to get the print out so whatever. Can't quite remember what I ordered, some kind of protein dish. What I had pictured in my head when I ordered, was far different from what I was served on my plate. The foul looking dish they served me tasted like something unholy. It couldn't have been from any animal I've ever tasted before. Threw my entire meal away in disgust. I was with a group of 5-6 people, they all tried it - and the looks on their faces were worth 1,000 words as they looked for anything to remove the hellish taste from their mouths. Not sure what the low ratings are about. Had a to-go order with my family, only took 10-15 minutes for everything to be done. Had no complains about the food it all tasted good. We got classic nachos, triple dipper, and the molton chocolate cake dessert. I think my only qualm is the small amt of spinach artichoke dip they give you compared to the ridiculously huge back of tortilla chips they provided-the dip was great I wish there was more! read more

Better then expected. After a modest 20 minute wait time, this Chili's actually did a pretty good job. Our waiter seemed like a nice guy and everything we ordered came out correctly and in a timely manner. Only glitch was with that tabletop ipad / tablet which didn't work when we tried to order a dessert through it. However the waiter quickly took care of it. They kept our glasses full and the place seemed about as clean as its gonna get here. As for the food we ordered Tilapia and mango sauce and Chicken enchilladas with green chille sauce. Both were tasty and had a little spicy kick to them, but neither was to overpowering. Wife liked the broccoli and said it was seasoned very well. The limited time only dessert "Cinnamon Lava Cake" was SOOO good. They need to keep that thing on the menu all the time! Wife and I were dueling forks like Darth Vader fighting Luke Skywalker! UPDATE 3/25/14 - I'm very happy to update my review. This place has more than redeemed itself over the last few months as far as I'm concerned. This place has been on point with their food and service. Chili's rocks! It pains me to give a bad review to a Chili's restaurant. I really love the food and the atmosphere, but service is a huge deal to me and this place has gone way downhill in that department. I've attempted to call-ahead numerous times, and each time I've been told I don't need to put my name on the call-ahead list because there is no wait. Even when I say I'd really like to have my name on, they insist there is absolutely no one waiting and there is no reason for it. It seems that in the 5-minute drive from my house, hoards of customers have arrived each time this has happened, and our wait is 20-30 minutes. In my former life I wouldn't have cared, but dining out with a 1-year-old has changed my dining-out experience. Part of the reason I like coming to Chili's is that it's a kid-friendly atmosphere and I feel comfortable if he's a little noisy. But after waiting 30 minutes just for a table, he's usually a mess by the time our food comes, and it's a horrible experience for me and the other patrons around me which is unfair to everyone. It's too bad because especially with a young child, dining out can be such a relief and a fun experience. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case here for us lately. Additionally, there are tables waiting to be cleared. Those tables took a long time for a buss person to clean them off. The manager on duty walked past the dirty tables several times but did nothing about it. The hostess couldn't understand why the people waiting at the door were annoyed at her....perhaps because she not only had an attitude problem, but didn't want to do anything help help resolve the problem. read more

Because I work locally , I gave into hunger pangs and went to Chilis against my better judgement. Someone who loves me , please smack me for my laziness in choosing the local dopey chain place instead of seeking something a little better!!! I'm not a food snob as anyone can see. I mean , shit, I seriously like Popeye's fried chicken! Having said that, the food was ok but no love was going into your plate. Try desperation and panic more like it! lol We were seated promptly and our orders were taken quickly. But for whatever reason, our simple order of a burger & cheesesteak took forever. When it arrived my bacon cheeseburger had burnt bacon, burnt roll , and maybe 1o fries. The cheesesteak sandwich came out as sliders instead of a sandwich with the same lack of fries. I didn't send the burger back , but we sent the cheesesteak sliders back because they looked lame. I mentioned to our server about the fries and she did promptly send a basket of fries over, gratis. When the cheesesteak arrived, it lacked cheese and onions& peppers and was a soggy mess. Not in a fun way , either. We also ordered nachos and they were tasty. The best part of the meal , actually.
