As a whole I'm disapointed with the brand. I don't like their menu changes - moving away from their casual Tex-Mex and going into a more trendy South-West. This has resulted in several menu casualties that my friends abd I enjoyed: RIP Buffalo Chicken Fajitas, Mushroom Burger, and Chicken Fried Steak. However, this review is based on this paticular restuarant. I gave it +1 for the service and a +1 for food taste; our server was friendly and attentive. He came a checked on us regularly which is rare for a Barstow joint. My group all got different burgers and they tasted acceptable, and all seemed to be going for a higher-end look but had an slightly better than average taste. A reluctant +1 for cost: ranging from $9 to $12 for the burgers which is what you expect from casual dining digs for a ham-burgs - I'd still prefer to go to In-&-Out for my collin killing fix. However, I have to give a -1 for the mistake of basically giving us all the same burger: mine was a Sweet Smokehouse (or something like that) which came with Onion Rings, sauce, and cheese. Friend 1 got a Southern Smokehouse (not the same as mine) which was saposed to have bacon, cheese, and another kind of sauce. Friend 2 got a basic Cheeseburger with bacon. Instead, friend 1 got a cheeseburger with sauce and friend two got thr dame thing with bacon. Mine was fine. I know it sounds confusing but I read the descriptions of each item out of curiosity, and it matters because each burger had a different price so they all should have been unique. Our server comped us some onion rings to make friend 1's burger more Smokehousey so that worked. It was busy which explains the mix-up, but professional cooks should still know the difference in their food. Overall, it was still a fun and good experience - and I will go back mainly because there are not many other places in Barstow. read more

Busy place but we were seated right away which was good. My husband and I had the Steak n Shrimp Fajita's which was very delicious. The waitress was very attentive and kept our drinks refilled which I thought happened to be pretty darn good considering how busy they were. read more

We visited this same Chili's on Labor Day weekend, 2 years after our last visit. Much to our surprise we were very happy with our food and the service. The waitress we had was only on her 2nd day on the job but she gave us fantastic service and management stopped by our table twice to see how we were doing. Three for late lunch; onion ring app was prompt, hot, and crispy, drinks and beer refills timely, waited longer than average for food, but we were kept updated about the progress. Before the end of the meal a manager stopped by to see how everything was. For the area, this location is at least my plan B. You can count on reliable service and quality for reasonable prices here. read more

Took forever for everything and the place wasn't even busy and my food came out cold which means are server was to busy to just grab the shit. This Chili's location always has excellent food and service. My family enjoys using the rewards as well as taking advantage of the emails that offer special food and drink pairings and great prices. We especially enjoy the triple dipper and tableside guacamole appetizers, and we are impressed with recent additions to the menu such as the new taco selections. read more

I came today around lunch time for a quick bite as I was driving through town. We sat in the bar area, and I couldn't help but notice the hostess, Kristen, working so hard. She came to our table more frequently than the server even did. She was going above and beyond, and I thought to myself, why isn't SHE our server? She was so helpful! The service was horrible! so slow! Took ten minutes for someone to even ask us our drink order. As you can see from the pictures, the food is microwaved, cheeses are hard and chicken overlooked. The guac is supposed to be "homemade" but it's most obviously store bought and salted. The best part is they provide iPad type things on the table for the kids and then don't bother to tell you that they will add $1.99 to your bill!!! An ok visit here today, not one of the best by far but Kathy(manager) was very apologetic and made sure we were taken care of. I understand Holiday weekend is always tough for restaurants. Food was good but took a long time to arrive, considering we ordered 3 salads and fajitas. We were offered chips & salsa while we continued to wait. I had to settle for fajitas as they had ran out of their baby back ribs! Anyway. Probably would have been. 1 star review but it wasn't like we were ignored, it wasn't like mgmt or staff weren't aware of the issues and we were compensated for it. Tired of POOR customer service at this location. Management doesn't understand how to keep customers. Too bad. They final straw was not being able to take a coupon that was sent to my email. Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess was far too timid for her job. I couldn't hear a single thing she said. I had to read her lips. Never was told how long the wait was. Went to the ladies and counted the empty tables on the dining room side. 20+ empty tables. 3 parties ahead of us were waiting. None larger than 5. 15 minutes later, one irate group finally spoke to a manager who was less than interested. We got seated shortly after that. We ordered 1/2 rack with fries, chili and a salad, and the appetizer trio. It took 30 minutes to get our food and it was Less than spectacular. Warm enough to pass, but cool enough to be irritating. I have to say I've had a couple of bad experiences with other Chili's locations. This time, however, our waitress was attentive and the service was excellent. I had the unlimited soup, salad and chips and she was quick to give me my soup and the chili was pretty good and not too salty like the other places. So I definitely recommend this place. read more

Unfortunately my family is all ill and we could not go in and dine, so why not take out right?! Well, that ended awful! Ordered from home on my computer and was told our order would be done at 1:08pm. I figured we would leave at that time and give them a few extra minutes. We ended up not getting our food until 1:43pm. My poor husband had to sit there and wait for this turtle to get our ordered packed. We then asked why this has happened to us twice already and all they could say was it's a business and you ordered on a computer.... Really!! At every other Chili's we have ordered to go from, our orders were sitting there waiting for us and we were out of there in less than 5 minutes! I've gone to Chili's for years now, and I like their food. But the service today here was disappointing. Put in a to go order, they told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. I gave them 15 minutes. Get there and no one is at the to go desk. We ring the bell as instructed. We continue to wait, and wait. There were several employees there who passed us. The bartender looked right at us. I was appalled, we waited there 10 minutes. I was about to ring the bell again, when someone finally came up and asked if we had been helped! I said no, and we have been here a while. My daughter and I then had to wait another 10 minutes for our food! I will not be going back to this Chili's location, poor customer service. read more

Worst Chili's I have ever been to. Arrived with five other people and after waiting a half hour, was led to two tables which sat four each and had to push them together ourselves. The waitress hurriedly took our drink and appitizer order and we sat for an other hour. The food came luke warm and not as we ordered it. No one refilled our drinks. No one even checked on us until our entres came. Food was bland. Guess this is one of the few places with white people in the kitchen. Our friend's steak came out extremely rare when he ordered it medium. We waited a total of two hours for our food and an extra 45 minutes for our check because the self checkout was broken. Even if I was staying in this area, I would keep far far away from this "restaurant". read more

This is puzzling. I order a few favorites from Chili's around the country. They are the same everywhere but Barstow. Last time it was the Grilled Chicken Pasta. Not good at all, very little chicken and pasty. Tonight I ordered the Margarita Grilled Chicken. Zero black beans even though they are one of the main ingredients. Very odd. We are there last night and i have been stuck on the toilet since we got home. I normally go the the one in Victorville but I have been to this one twice. Every single time that I go to this one the service wasn't the best. They would forget I was sitting there. They rarely checked if we needed refills, anything else to eat, or if we were done. Mind you, it wasn't busy at all the two times that I did decide to go.
