I personally didn't want a burger this time, so I ordered a chicken sandwich, which is basically just chicken tenders on a bun. Not very impressed, but it wasn't as bad as Pepsi Zero. They do get credit for having a "senior" menu, which I ordered from. And I appreciate that they have tater tots. It seemed like a smaller portion, but it was actually perfect for me. I'll keep checking back, but if I see they still only serve Pepsi Zero, I might be walking over the McD's for my drink.

Tucked away off Victor Street in Barstow, this was a fun find while driving back to Los Angeles from Vegas over Memorial Day weekend. Big props to Haley M., who was basically running a one-woman show and somehow kept the entire place moving with a great attitude and solid service. That alone made the stop memorable. The location has a cool, laid-back vibe with plenty to keep people entertained while grabbing food and drinks. They've got two billiards tables, a dart board, and all kinds of classic bar games, board games, and card games, including UNO, which is a family favorite. They also have several televisions. The food was all good too. I really enjoyed the Green Chili Burger, and everyone else in my party seemed genuinely happy with their meals as well. I felt they were trying to nickel and dime when I got the bill, i was charged for a side of ranch, a side of BBQ, and had no idea I was being up charged for the onion rings. I didn't say a word, but it hit wrong with me. .75 points deducted. What especially stood out to me, though, was the Memorial Day place setting displayed near the front entrance honoring our veterans and fallen heroes. It was simple, respectful, and genuinely touching. See my picture. That detail said a lot about the heart behind this place. If you're making the Vegas-to-LA drive and want something more memorable than the usual freeway fast-food stop, this place is definitely worth checking out. Great atmosphere, friendly energy, and one of those spots you end up talking about later.

This location is much larger than most and INCREDIBLY busy, with a line like Disneyland, but the team members do a great job keeping it moving. Seating inside was super-packed! There were several open tables outside which we had to be at anyway because of the pups. Luckily, it was a nice day. Our order came out surprisingly fast and just as we ordered. The freshness, taste and portions were consistent with other locations -- In-N-Out does this amazingly well. The place was well maintained with team members cleaning continuously. Always a satisfying meal, from a friendly team, at a great price point. You just can't beat it.

There was so many people waiting in line to order and also waiting for there foods. The hype of the chili cheeseburgers isn't even that awesome. Its very chaotic while several customer's were going nuts because of the wait. While they were complaining to staff members when their foods coming out. We almost got our foods sooner but several women's when off on the staff for waiting x amount of hours and still didn't get the orders yet. We ended up having to wait until 10:33pm to get all our orders. We requested to get french fries first which was around 10:13pm since we're hungry. But mind you we been here waiting since 8:04pm for the whole order. We finally took our first chili cheeseburgers bite at 10:38pm. We left the restaurant by 10:59pm/11pm. The fries we requested at around 10:13pm was hot and fresh. By the time our whole order was ready to be called for us to pick up at the front counter. The batch of fries inside the box was already cold & old which tasted soggy and nasty. I don't understand how it wasn't even fresh at all since we were like the last few 10 customers left out of a few hundred after the 5pm - 7pm rush hour slot was over. We landed in the 8pm slot with only about 10 customers left or so. The customers was greedy as well who ordered multiple foods on different receipts. There was some who had stacks of receipts just for the chili cheeseburgers alone. We came here for the chili cheeseburgers(8), fries(4), Large drinks(2), and an ice cream cone but they only had cups(1). Most people only came here for the chili cheeseburgers only. The cash register lady told us we can purchase a multiple of 10 burgers per receipts. We only got 8 chili cheeseburgers since everyone was hypeing how great it was. It was just a big fat disappointment. You can literally get it elsewhere with better service and fresher taste. The chili cheeseburgers alone had so little bits of ground meat in it. I literally thought it would be on the chunky side but nope. The beef patty was small like the size of a hamburger patty at McDonald's. The buns is the only thing that was big which made the burgers looked big. They only put so little chili on each burgers as well. So the ingredients to me personally seems a bit on the cheaper side not worth the time and effort. I really don't understand how people hype how good their burgers are. The burgers and fries did not taste as fresh as I thought it would be. Everyone who's exaggerated about the chili cheeseburgers need to rethink it again. There are better burgers that taste more delicious and a bigger portion. My overall experience was definitely not that wonderful. I personally would not recommend this restaurant in general. The staff wasn't all that nice and friendly. I really don't understand the disorganized staff members and the food order arrangement was not coming out in an orderly manner. There was no intercom to call out your number. Everyone waited too long for their orders. They should have capped the multiple transactions for each customer to only one per visit. Then again everyone was so greedy. I just wondered if they were all going to eat it in one sitting. We couldn't even finish all our foods which we took the rest home for later in the week. I know we were greedy too but at least we did not have multiple receipts. The food was not completely fresh eventhough we waited for hours for the completed food order. You literally thought since they were busy shouldn't the foods be hot and fresh too. I personally think they gave us other people leftovers who ordered something differently and requested a redo for their burgers. I'm 100% sure they repackaged it with a new wrapper and gave it to us so we can consume it. I hope it's not true. I see it all the time when it usually happens behind the seen because the workers too lazy to cook more. I actually got one chili cheeseburgers with missing half a patty. I really don't know what happened to it but it was missing. So I'm assuming it probably dropped or so and they were too lazy to make more. After we got back home I had a tummy ache. I ended up having a massive diarrhea. It's a good thing I made it home before it ended up on myself. I'm thinking the chili kicked in. I will not come back here again at all. But you never know I might change my mind in the future. You can give them a try. Be your own judge. Eat at your own RISK. As of now it's a no go for me!!

I've been to many restaurants in my lifetime, and not once have EVER felt like I wasn't welcome, until today!!! The person at the hostess station area refused to seat me. I asked for a table and she left to the back, and didn't return to the front until she saw that I was sitting in the bar area. Her name was ERICA!!!! She was the hostess when I walked in around 3:51 on June 30th 2020. Please check the cameras. In my life had had experienced something like this. Obviously, these racist all feel entitled to show they're hatred towards other races. It's a true shame. I would stop at this chili's whenever I was in Barstow. I'd change my car in the parking lot. Seriously, I'm not a Chili's person in any way, shape, or form but it was right by the charging station on the way to Vegas. We sat at the bar and, no joke, Marco and Diana are the most amazing people on the planet! Came in for a drink while we waited and the place was CHAOS. They handled everything better than one could've expected. They checked in with us constantly and really understood what service was about. My wife and I were in Barstow and were very hungry. Very accommodating! I recommend the fajitas. I had chicken fajitas and my wife had shrimp. The lady working the bar great customer service. On my way to Vegas decided to stop by to watch the Mexico soccer game and grab something to eat. Staff was so friendly and did the impossible to find the soccer game we really wanted to see ;) I would sooooo stop here next time I'm in this area. Been coming here every night for months now. They never fail me. Service is great. Sometimes it can be a little slow but I usually sit at the bar and they just keep the drinks coming. Great place to stop by if you're in town. Love their salmon dish and the quesadilla explosion. read more

For the past couple of years the Miners Cafe has been closed and this year we were excited to see that it was open again. But we were sadly disappointed.. The Miners Cafe now has a new owner, and Jessica and her family are not there to great us hello. The Cafe is just a limited, typical burger place with not much flavor. Familiar items like fried pickles and a cold beer are gone. When asked if a simple grilled cheese could be made, we were given an excuse that the staff was slammed and they didn't want to overwhelm the cooked. And when you looked around they had minimal patrons at the establishment. The person taking the order was not very accommodating, and seemed like she was just "over it". We ended up ordering zucchini and onions rings, not much to them and onions rings were just warm, not hot like it does when coming out of the fryer. Needless to say we left the sad, empty Miners Cafe. I am sad to see what used to be a wonderful establishment, become just a place to sit and make eat if you feel like mediocre cold food. What happened to the Miners Cafe we loved? And what happened the past owners who put loved and quality into there establishment? Because it showed with the food and the staff. I am sad to say, this is not place it used to be, hopefully next year it will be better or the old familiar faces will be back

The hot dogs are grilled, not boiled. The fried pickles and zucchini are DELISH! Turkey burger was also full of flavor. Lots of patio seating available with views that are just spectacular. Service was friendly! I highly recommend Old Miners Cafe as the top choice for getting food in this old mining ghost town!
