(4.25 STARS)…read more Memorial Day road trips always seem to create the best random discoveries, and Pit Stop Bar & Grill absolutely delivered. Tucked away off Victor Street in Barstow, this was a fun find while driving back to Los Angeles from Vegas over Memorial Day weekend. Big props to Haley M., who was basically running a one-woman show and somehow kept the entire place moving with a great attitude and solid service. That alone made the stop memorable. The location has a cool, laid-back vibe with plenty to keep people entertained while grabbing food and drinks. They've got two billiards tables, a dart board, and all kinds of classic bar games, board games, and card games, including UNO, which is a family favorite. They also have several televisions. The food was all good too. I really enjoyed the Green Chili Burger, and everyone else in my party seemed genuinely happy with their meals as well. I felt they were trying to nickel and dime when I got the bill, i was charged for a side of ranch, a side of BBQ, and had no idea I was being up charged for the onion rings. I didn't say a word, but it hit wrong with me. .75 points deducted. What especially stood out to me, though, was the Memorial Day place setting displayed near the front entrance honoring our veterans and fallen heroes. It was simple, respectful, and genuinely touching. See my picture. That detail said a lot about the heart behind this place. If you're making the Vegas-to-LA drive and want something more memorable than the usual freeway fast-food stop, this place is definitely worth checking out. Great atmosphere, friendly energy, and one of those spots you end up talking about later.

The atmosphere hits the perfect balance between cozy, retro, and vibrant. From the moment you walk in, the moody lighting, detailed tropical decor, and intimate setting set an incredible vibe that instantly makes you feel like you've escaped to a secret oasis. It is ideal for catching up with friends, starting off a night out, or enjoying a relaxed evening drink. Beyond the fantastic ambiance, the service is top-notch. The staff and bartenders are incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. They are always happy to recommend options based on your taste, and the attention to detail in every cocktail really shows. The drinks themselves are expertly crafted, balanced, and beautifully presented--you can tell real thought goes into the menu. Whether you are looking for classic tiki flavors or unique craft creations, everything served is flavorful and high quality. We did a couples weekend trip recently and stopped in. We arrived a few minutes before opening. It's a good thing we did because the place is TINY. Not what I was expecting. We got lucky as we didn't have reservations but got sat right away. It filled up quickly. We all enjoyed our fun cocktails. The ambiance was nice and our waitress was friendly. We learned an interesting fun fact: they are affiliated with Don The Beachcomber; which is (well was - it's closed now) a few miles from my house.

The apple cranberry salad was excellent and tasted very fresh. The steak was very tender, and the herb crusted salmon with pilau rice was solid as well. The ambience was lively without being overwhelming, and the beautiful elaborate glass dome really makes the space feel special. Service was great throughout the evening. Attentive, warm, and present without being pushy or constantly interrupting the meal. Overall, a very good dinner and a spot I'd happily come back to when in Big Bear Lake.

This restaurant is inside Chateau Big Bear and features a 57-foot ornate Tiffany dome. On this evening, my family and I got to see pianist Mike Cross perform blues music along with a drummer and bassist. Mike was very friendly, and we got to exchange greetings after the show. We got the chicken marsala, spaghetti bolognese, and Caesar salad with chicken. The chicken marsala came as a big portion with a lot of mashed potatoes along with steamed carrots and charred broccoli. It was delicious with the rich and savory marsala wine sauce. Also, I never realized that charred broccoli can be so tasty. Service was a little spotty as it took long to flag a server for drink refills. Otherwise, this was overall an enjoyably memorable dining experience with my family.

The food was excellent, I ordered the Baja chicken wrap- full of flavor and packed with protein. My husband ordered the Cobb salad which he said was good too. Generous amounts of chicken and very nice presentation. The place is super cute, it has a bar with beer, it also has a very nice patio area. Outside is very dog friendly, they even brought out a couple of water bowls for the dogs. Definitely recommend the place, staff was very prompt and courteous. Thanks Yelp for a great find!

There is an ample amount of outdoor seating and there's also plenty of seating inside. It's a very laid back kind of environment, definitely giving off beach day vibes. The food menu is up on the wall as you come in. Orders are placed at the counter and brought to your table when it's ready. When we arrived at 11AM there was plenty of open seating and only one other person placing an order. But by the time we were leaving tho, the place was PACKED! Every table both inside and outside was occupied. I would have never imagined Board & Brew was THIS popular! Ordering was quick and easy and our orders came up pretty quickly. Both the cashier and person who bought us our food were friendly and efficient. My friend and I both ordered the Beef Dip sandwich. Somehow I've managed to go through life with never having tried horseradish, so I requested that it came on the side. Okay, well, I was NOT expecting the heat to go right up to my nose ~ phew!! Even so, it went really well with the beef dip. The roll itself was crunch yet fluffy in all the right places. As is, I would have preferred it to have more beef, but as a whole it was still pretty tasty. Perhaps next time I'll see about getting extra meat. So now I know why they've been around forever. The vibe is easy going, the service is on point, and the food is very good.
