Well, how can I pass up the chance to review an American chain restaurant? One of three in Canada, all of which are in Alberta, apparently. The restaurant is attached to the Fox Hotel. I was a walk-in, and the pleasant host took my phone number and after a short wait and a text message, I was in. I mean, this is Banff, right? The outdoor seating looked prime, so of course I ate inside. Indoors was clean, bright, and sort of rustic. It matched the chalet style houses along the road. My server was busy but friendly, and soon I had placed my order for 5 "Crispers" and a Wild Life Caesar. The food came quickly. The fries were a bit crispy and nicely salted. The coleslaw was creamy, not too sweet, and had a really fresh taste. It was a nice match for the Crunchers (chicken fingers) and the Buffalo sauce. They were not greasy at all, the breading was crunchy and thin, the chicken itself was tender and whole chiclen, not the nasty ground up and formed miscellaneous chicken bits and the Caesar was a good spicy serving. (I especially appreciated the slices of pickles on a spear draped over the top.) Nothing earth shattering here, but for what it is, an upscale chain restaurant, everything was pretty darn good, and overall a slight notch above similar meals I've had. (I was really tired of getting chicken fingers with tendon still embedded.) It was packed when I got here and still packed as I type this, so I think that says a lot. read more

Nostalgic. Not amazing food, but it's a cute rustic forest-y setup and looks clean. It's basically your typical American fast food sit down type of restaurant etc. I honestly only liked the viral Mozerella sticks that everyone posts about, everything else is super mid. Our waitress Liv tho was super super nice. She was one of the reasons I gave a 3 and not a 2. Handled our big party of 12 very kindly and patiently. read more

It was late by the time we returned to our hotel in Banff. Located in The Fox, Chili's was a familiar place to sit and relax. It was also a great opportunity for me to try some Poutine. My meal was their Mushroom Swiss Burger and the aforementioned Poutine, and I couldn't have been more pleased. The burger was greasy and messy and good, the Poutine even better than I remembered. Our server was so nice. We had arrived not much before closing and instead of trying to move us along, he did the opposite and spent time chatting with us. We had a nice time at Chili's before walking back to the hotel full and tired. read more

If you're going to Chilis you're expecting Chilis and this definitely delivered! Tasted exactly the same as home and even had a view with it! We sat inside but next to the window and ended up with an amazing view of the mountains. Definitely recommend if you just want something familiar! But if you're looking for something slightly different, the menu here does have poutine and it's actually pretty good!! read more

Came here to see what Chili's in Banff is all about coming from out of the country. It was okay and mediocre at best. We ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and sirloin. The sirloin was a bit tough and broccoli wasn't fresh. The onions rings were on the soggy side and the batter wasn't cooked enough. The burger was okay. The service was friendly, but the wait for the food was on the slow side surprisingly since it wasn't even busy. The ambiance is casual. Worst experience ever....took forever to get good even bottomless chips and salsa that they don't have to make. Ordered explosion salad and minus chicken and substitute other toppings extra and they charged for extra toppings but not minus for the Chicken. They charged for substituting chicken for black bean patty too. Nickel and dimed. It's bottomless salsa and they charged us for the 2nd round too. Never again will I dine with them. read more

Honestly this is one of those 'solid' 4 star ratings. I would rate it 5 since you have an amazing view of the mountains while noshing or sipping on your favorite chilis classics. But I can understand that few chain restaurants rise to the 5 star rating. If you've been to chilis this is exactly what you know and love. Prompt service, hot foods, cold drinks in the middle of Banff - what more could you ask for. Definitely worth a shot if you're in town and the patio is dog friendly! read more

I've eaten at Chilis in the states and was pleased to see this menu similar. I ordered the Ranch Chicken Quesadilla and a soft drink. I'd never had this item before, but was pleased with the taste of it. I would have liked more pico salsa, but I just had to put it on a little thinner. The place looked great with a mountain ambiance. My only issue was slow service. Can't really blame the waitress. She was very busy and was moving the entire time we were there. We stayed at hotel very close to this Chili's so we came. The food tasted good. The price was reasonable. The waiters were super friendly. We came here for breakfast once and dinner once. Both time they were very friendly. One time we were in a hurry, and the waiter was able to help accomodate and did her best to make sure we were not late. That was super nice. read more

If you're looking for some Mexican food in Banff this would honestly not be my first pick. The food was mediocre for the prices (I normally love Chili's food), and the drinks were weak. However, if you're staying in the Fox Hotel or nearby it is worth dropping by for an Aprés Ski Margarita. Also, our server on the night we actually ate dinner there was named Josie, and she was wonderful. The bar was also very accommodating by letting our large group of students watch the ncsu basketball game. read more

It a pretty good chain, well above Kelseys and other larger chains For chain restaurants I would say 4/5, compared to smaller local places it would be 3/5. The spicy shrimp tacos were well seasoned and fresh, the was not overly chewy. Felt like it was freshly cooked and enjoyable with a nice slice of avocado. Very filling. One of the few remaining AB Chili's locations. I dined here last winter during Yelp's Banff Break as it was the restaurant inside our hotel. The food was a-ok but of course breakfast buffet style with a few warm items. The service here was the best part. Great staff definitely make the difference. Of concern with this location is the stairs required to get to the buffet area. If you are mobility challenged there were no alternatives to get down to see the food - you'd have to send a friend or family member to get your food. read more

It was getting late on a Saturday night, and most restaurants in the Banff area were closed or did not have outdoor dining. We walked past Chili's, and the outdoor eating area was still available. We had to wait awhile prior to being served, but the food was quite good. I had the salmon that was tasty. So if it's getting late, I recommend eating at Chili's. read more

This place has awesome staff. So glad I spent a few afternoons at the bar talking to the staff member who were very kind and informative. We dined in the Banff Chili's recently. We were sat in the lounge area. There is a high top table in the center of the lounge and on top of the table was a grimy cleaning bottle and a large dirty rag. This was in full view of everyone dining and was certainly a terrible eyesore. There is nobody who wants to dine and look at dirty cleaning supplies in the center of the place. We moved the bottle and rag down to a chair and 3 times a different waitress and the bartender went out of their way to put it back up on the table. We talked to our server about this and she agreed with us and said it was a forced rule by the manager. All I can say is, what terrible management. Nobody wants to dine and stare at a fithly rag and cleaning supplies! I will also let the Health Inspector know. I have told a few friends and one sent me a photo of this filthy rag and bottle on top of the center table tonight. Gross!!!!! read more

We are travelling with our dog, so 1 star for having one of the few dog-friendly patios in Banff. We eat Keto so another star for keto-friendly burgers in lettuce wraps. John, our server, is fantastic and gets them a third star. The manager came out to light the fireplace on the patio because my husband forgot his hoodie, so the 4th star. And the 5th star is for the Banff Ave brewing company honey brown beer. We had such a great experience we came back for our second night in Banff. read more

Downward spiral of cheapness anyone? I have frequently stayed at the Fox hotel adjoined to this chilis for about the past 7 years, and this chilis has obviously changed hands or managers since my last visit. This chilis provides the breakfast spread for those staying at the fox, it used to entail a great selection of fresh fruits, now just melon and 3 or 5 grapes if you are lucky. There were no longer apples or oranges available for those that don't want to eat processed foods. Used to have soy milk available and butter OR margarine for those of us that do not wish to slaughter day old calves for our breakfast. Now they provide neither. They now offer almond milk at an additional charge of $2.75 which is more than I have ever seen, anywhere. Considering soy and almond costs no more than cattle nipple secretions I am pretty shell shocked to see people being charged an arm and a leg to opt not to harm the planet. Oh, and don't bother trying to seek out a butter alternative anymore, they simply don't have it. I won't be brining my business retreats back to this place, and unfortunately the fox has lost my business by proxy due to their inability to ensure that vegans and vegetarians are not forced to consume butter or eat dry toast without, or price gouged if they don't want to suckle on a cow nipple. read more

My review is limited to my experience but so far so good!! My favourite part of the whole experience though is getting to still walk into one of these franchises. With almost all of them shutting down in our area of the country I can't help but feel it's very exclusive bows and more exciting. When staying at the Fox Hotel you get vouchers for breakfast so I have been able to enjoy the atmosphere for several mornings and am loving it!! The wait staff is amazing and the food is sure a nice bonus for the hungry travellers. My favourite is the bacon you can order on the side and makes it easier to leave a tip too . With a huge selection shown in pictures you can no doubt find something for everyone. I filled my belly and people watched the waffle maker... always good for a laugh to those who forget to use the spray. One point for those with mobility issues though....stairs everywhere!! read more

We each ordered a chicken burrito. Chips and salsa were $9.00 extra. Our waiter brought side plates for us to share the chips and salsa. When our food was ready, the waiter wanted to take our side plates. I said that we wanted to keep them because we were still munching on them. He sure didn't like that. Brought out food, which was very tasty. We continued to munch on the chips. He brought us 1 check, when we had asked for 2. He went back and changed it. I paid cash. My bill was $30.40. I gave him $40. He asked if I wanted change. I answered yes. He then put my slip into the register and came back and asked me how much was my check and how much change I wanted. I said to just give me back $5. My friend was unsure how to use the charge machine. The waiter had no patience when it timed out and he had to do it again. So, although the food was tasty, service was only fair at best and $9.00 for chips and salsa is outrageous. read more

However Philly Cheese Streak was good. Stay away from the mashed potatoes & gravy - tasted like frozen instant potatoes. If your going to get the fajitas, extra wraps (you get 4 small ones) are additional $. The plate of "cheese, lettuce & pico de gallo" is small and not enough. Doubt I'd would return. read more

Great portions, but lackluster flavors and quite pricy. Located in the Fox Hotel, where I stayed figured this was an easy option. It's your standard Chili's menu. I tried the full rack of ribs as well as their chicken tacos. Both were a bit salty. I though the ribs needed to fall off the bone slightly more easily. Being a big Chilli's fan south of the border, I had certain expectations. I have to say this was not the same experience I was accustomed to at previous Chili's I've frequented as this one in Banff. I do have to say the restaurant was very nice atmosphere and well laid out with a nice upstairs, and it was also very clean. The restaurant was empty at dinner time, this was a bit of a concern for such a popular place from my previous experiences. We were helped quickly and got a great table. The waitress we got was so over top friendly it was fake and I don't think she even realized it. I've never been called love before so many times in one sentence. Just be real and genuine and you will get a good tip.... Our order was correct and looked like the picture too, but that was about all that was good. The flavour of my sandwich was non existant and was little meat and a very hard bun. My GF had an interesting salad that looked really good and was a decent size and was unique. She felt it was ok not great, as she was starving and it still had ok taste. We also started with the deep fried pickles which were actually very tasty and different from previous I've had, however the basket had 1/2" of grease at the bottom with the last dozen slices never getting finished. The prices were not what I was accustomed to in the US, and seemed a bit expensive for this franchise. Well I have to say I won't be back to this Chili's....many better options in Banff for the prices.... read more

Boyfriend and I were starving and saw the Chili's as we were driving towards our lodge for the weekend. I am a big fan of Chili's, and we decided we had to go. We arrived, were seated promptly (it was about 8 pm). Our waiter, Greg, was absolutely charming and great. He was attentive, even when he had to start taking care of a rowdy 18-top in the back. Our food came out exactly as we ordered, and we enjoyed everything! I made a note to save the receipt to properly write a review of the food and Greg's service, but the receipt didn't make it back to the US with me. I can't believe I'm rating a Chili's 5 stars, but boy oh boy do they deserve it!! We stayed at the Fox Inn and Suites where the Chili's is located, so on our first night we ate there. They had Poutine on the menu, and since we had heard that this was a Canadian dish, we decided to give it a try. It was completely amazing!! The gravy was very rich, and the fries were very crispy so they weren't too soggy with the gravy. The cheese curds topped it off with flavor. I ordered the Enchiladas and hubby got the Fajita skillet. Both dishes tasted super fresh and were very flavorful. We could not believe how good it was!! The drinks were also spot on. I ordered the Caesar, which is a Bloody Mary made with Clamato juice, it was phenomenal! Perfectly spiced. The next day, I ordered their Mojito topped with Strawberry Slush. It's my new favorite drink! We ate at several places in Banff, but Chili's was by far the best. If you go to Banff, definitely stop by!! read more
