Every time I go to this place it's empty and the wait is extra long. Covid may not be completely over but it has definitely calmed down to a point where businesses are operating more like normal again. There is no reason to be understaffed to a point where the restaurant can't run effectively on a slow Tuesday night. On last night, my honey and I went to Chili's because we saw a commercial on TV about a deal 3 for $10! So we went to see went it was all about. Chili's in Austell is located near the East/West Connector and ALL the shops and restaurants you could imagine is in the area. So, here is my review. When we walked in we were greeted by the hostess and she asked how many was in our party, I said two and we were seated immediately. She noticed the table wasn't cleaned off enough so, she wiped it down again. Which showed me that the night was going to be great. Less than a minute later, we were approached by our waitress. Her was Catalina! Oh my God, she was honest and great. She told us about the specials and what she recommended. So with the 3 for $10 deal you get a non alcoholic beverage, a soup or salad, and an entree which included STEAK on the menu! and two sides LOL. I ordered the Mango Lemonade, Terlingua Chili which had Slow-cooked with beef, poblanos, jalapeños, onions. Topped with shredded cheese. Very Good. For my entree I had he Classic Ribeye which was a Marbled, thick-cut steak topped with garlic butter. Served with mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli. OMG!! I was so freakin full. BUT I ordered a Cherry Blossom Margarita at the beginning of dinner so I had to finish that and the was HELLAH GREAT TOO!! Thanks Catalina and Chili's for a great dinner. Let's get into ! Me and my party came in on a Friday night around 7. It was very empty inside the restaurant. One whole side was mostly empty. I waited at the front for 15 mins to put our name on a list /notify the staff we were here /coming. It took 30 mins for them to notice / speak to us. We sat another 10 mins later. The waitress was nice and I asked for my kids meal to come first while we were telling our drink order. And that came out in 15 mins. I'm glad I did that because our food took over 2 hours to reach our table. After we notified we would be fine with food coming out separately. My kids got annoyed , tired restless. The manager came out to tell us that we need to wait and that they are short staff and us being hungry is basically not her issue. We tried to voice that food can come out as it comes not all together because it was getting late. She stated us talking to her was making our food come out slower. She left. I have tried to give Chili's a second chance, but Friday was the final straw!!! GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE!! Customer service is trash, business model is erroneous, and management is not working. We live close to chili's and frequented it often. Regulars bc the food is good. But as of late they've become rude, aren't acknowledging customers upon entrance, and leaving customers at the table. It happened twice and the only reason we went back is because my 4 year old asked us to give them another chance. The first incident they brought all adult meals but didn't bring out a kids meal. We always order kids meals with appetizers so they can eat early. I kept asking where my daughters food was and the manager came and said something like were short staffed ave doing the best we can. But clearly they're using that as an excuse to continue poor behavior because everyone else had food except a 4 year old. They had time to fix our food but nothing a small child's. When I brought it to the manager's attention, he very cynically said "what is it that you want me to do ma'am?!" Why do I need to tell him? Big strike!! Lady tune was Friday. We were there early and before the crowd. We got up and left. Enough is enough. You want a living wage, then do the work. They're not doing it!! I used to really like Chili's . . . The paradise pie . . . the chicken crispers, the chicken quesadillas, the burgers, the southwestern eggrolls. Loved them all! It used to be my 'go to spot' . . . but that was years ago. In the last few years - because the food was just so INCONSISTENT and the service got to be CONSISTENTLY lazy, rude & 'ghetto' (and keep in mind ghetto is mentality - not a skin color - a lack of professionalism, doing the bare minimum, having no work ethic or no concept of having pride in yourself or your workplace) - I really fell off visiting them. If I did go - I stuck to takeout - and I only ordered burgers. To lessen my interaction with the staff - I have tried my best to use the online system - but for some reason - they have no option to add mayo to your burger. And there's no section for 'special notes' - so I always wind up having to a) place my order online or b) place my order online THEN call the store to request the mayo. Or even c) place the order for curbside, but go in to get the order to request a packet of mayo because I don't want to inconvenience the server by asking them to go back inside the restaurant to get a packet of mayo and walk it all the way back to my car. So here's what happened on my last 'visit' and why I'll have to mark them off my visit for a while:I'd already had red meat twice the month, so a burger was out. I spoke to a server who indicated that they'd never had the meal I described. Um. Okay. No need to argue - I ask, "Can I get a plain chicken quesadilla with no bacon?' She says yes. I ask, 'Can sub black beans instead of bacon?' She says yes, but it will cost $1.99 to add the beans. I respond, 'Even though I'm omitting the bacon.' She says yes. I ask,'But it's the same price whether if I completely omit the bacon." She says yes. I'm a glutton for punishment and I like wasting money - so I order the quesadilla, no bacon, no sour cream, no pico de gallo - just the tortilla, chicken and cheese. I drive to the restaurant and sit at curbside for about 7 minutes (no one comes to the car). I exit my vehicle and hobble past 5 or 6 handicapped spaces (the curbside parking entrance does not have parking spaces right outside the door like most places). I enter and stand at the curbside pickup register. A clean-cut, young African American male approaches the register, but stops short about a foot and starts reading some papers posted on the wall. I wait about 60 seconds, then shout a friendly hello. He does the startled 'clutch my pearls' gesture, then chuckles and tells me I scared him and that he didn't see me. He goes on to say that he doesn't work this area but someone should be right with me, then he wanders off back towards the kitchen with a very distracted air. I continue to stand there and a short, petite, African American lady approaches me (curly updo / ponytail) and tells me I'm standing in the wrong place and curbside orders have to go the bar. That's when I notice a sign at the register indicating that I need to go the bar. It was angled away from the door so I didn't notice it. I apologize & walk 2 feet over to the bar. The bartender, (Caucasian lady with updo / wavy bun) tells me she'll be right with me. She wanders off then comes back and ask what she get me. I tell her I'm picking up and she asks my name. I quickly ask her if I was supposed to come in even though I called in order. She replied Yes. And went on to say that they only come outside if you already placed your order on the website. I say Ok, my bad. But I know that's not true. Because here's the thing. You can pull up at any other Chili's curbside and someone will come out and take your order, then bring the food back to you - like the old-school carhops. So how did they know I wasn't a 'new' customer wanting to place an order? But even all of that didn't merit them a 2 star review. I've gotten used to their tomfoolery. The 2 star review is for customer service combined with the horrid food. My quesadilla was absolutely lackluster. Barely seasoned chicken, low-quality cheese and tiny portions. Yes - its an entire tortilla cut into wedges, but because there's no veggies / fiber and very little diced chicken - it was not filling at all. See pics. The quesadilla USED to have large chunks of chicken, onions & peppers (and you could add or sub mushrooms for peppers). We got to the chilis at 7:30pm and didn't leave until 9:20pm. The food was cold, the service was slow, and there was only one server for 6-8 tables. The wait was so long that we had to get our food to go as soon as it came out. If you plan to go out to eat with your family I suggest you got to a different location. Hubs and I frequent Chili's once or twice a month. We love the 3 for $10 deal they have with a beverage, appetizer, and entree however we discovered on our last visit that it was no longer 3 for $10. They now call it 3 for me and the prices start at $10 but increases depending on what you order. We normally get the Cajun Chicken Pasta and that is now $17.00. It's still a deal as it does still come with a drink and appetizer but we were shocked to say the least when we found out about the change lol. Pasta was still on point though! Now on to service... we usually visit about 3/4 in afternoons so it's not terribly crowded, however the service is still mediocre. We have found that it's best that you sit at bar as you will get serviced much faster AND receive better service. If wanting to be seated at a table, I advise you visit with patience as you will be waiting for someone to even acknowledge your presence for a while. Waitresses walk by while you are standing at the wait stand and don't even say anything to you. This happened to us on multiple occasions and we actually stopped visiting for a while. When we decided to try again, same thing happened and hubs suggested we just go to the bar, and that is what we have been doing ever since. This specific location is always understaffed, slow, and a disappointing experience. I have retried this location over 5 times and been disappointed every time. When you walk inside, you have to wait 10+ minutes for someone to come to the host stand and talk to you. There's always a wait because there aren't enough servers. Once you sit down, the one or two servers they have are overwhelmed and can't get to you for a while. Our order ends up being incorrect and we're lucky if we can flag down the server to help fix it. This is our consistent experience every time. I do not blame the staff here because it's not their fault. I only recently discovered that Chili's near NorthPoint Mall serves street corn on the cob. While the other lunch dishes are also very good, I go there for the absolutely to-die-for street corn! Usually order two at a time. The pasta with chicken dish is also very good, and it's large enough that I take some home for a leftover. When put back in the microwave, it's just as good as fresh. We were seated right away and a server promptly greated us and took our order. They had a 3 for 10, which included a drink, salad/soup/chili or chips and salsa option, and the entree choice. I got a mango tea, salad and grilled chicken entree which came with 2 sides. Overall, the deal was wonderful and my friend got his Chicken crispers which were also part of the 3 for $10 deal. I love that they have a tablet like device at each table. You can order dessert or drinks and pay your bill. We paid at the table with a credit card and a receipt even prints out! I haven't been here in a long time, but ate here for dinner on Saturday. We were promptly greeted upon entering the restaurant and taken to our seats. Since we arrived at 6pm on a Saturday afternoon, I think it is safe to say that waiting for a table will not be an issue if you come here. After being seated, our waiter came over to take our drink order. He said his name was Furious, which is an awesome name. He was an excellent server and was attentive without being a big pain. There is a fine line between being a good waiter, and being an overwhelming pest, but he walked that line beautifully. As for the food, I was pleased to see that they have updated their menu and changed some of the food presentation. This shows that management is paying attention to the little things, which can make all the difference. For an appetizer we had chips and salsa with a side of guacamole. The guacamole was really good and tasted fresh. I ate the chicken fajitas with rice and beans, and everything was tasty and well-cooked. My mother, who joined me for dinner, had the 6 oz steak with broccoli and mashed potatoes. She said her steak was well-prepared and would have it again upon return. My wife got the triple dipper. 15 min after we ordered we were told they had no pizza and then 5 minutes after that was told no chicken pasta. Meanwhile instead of re-making me and my wife's food. No one had any complaints regarding the taste of the food. My burgers were cooked perfectly, and it tasted as though the bun was grilled on a flat top grill because it had a perfect buttery crunch. Even though our waitress was friendly, and motherly, she rarely came to check on us. My son wanted bbq sauce instead of the honey mustard they supplied for his chicken. We informed our waitress, and she never brought the bbq sauce despite walking past our table several times. When we were ready to leave, she asked if we wanted the bbq sauce to go. Might as well since my son didn't touch his chicken because he didn't have his bbq sauce. We also had to wait a long time before we got our check. My wife and I went to the closest Chilis for dinner this evening. There was a sign on the door regarding being short staffed. We understand this, and as a former waitress myself, sympathize with those working. Upon entering we joined a line of three other groups. After a few minutes waiting the man at the front said he has been waiting for 15 minutes to be seated. Not once during our ten minutes waiting did a waiter/waitress/bar staff come over, say that they would be with us shortly, or even make eye contact. Tables were cleaned, the bar was staffed, and no one spoke to any of the 15 people crammed in the entrance. We were extremely disappointed at this service, or rather, the complete lack of service. If we return to Chilis, it will not be this location. read more

We waited a total of 2 hrs from the time we arrived until we received our food. Once we were seated and after waiting for 30 mins with no one greeting us or taking our order, I went to the hostess to inquire. She acted like she was clueless and went to the back of the restaurant to inquire I presume but didn't follow up with us. She also wasn't very pleasant. Eventually, I had to flag down a server who was nice enough to take our order. However, he stated he was still in training. 3 of us are strict vegans and explained this when ordering. He expressed an understanding, however, he came back to ask if it was ok that the chefs had included dairy in our food! Needless to say, our food had to be remade. When it finally arrived, it was still missing some items but by that time we were starving so we just ate. When the bill arrived, it included one of the missing items we never received. Of course I had them remove it before paying. I understand a lot of places are short staffed and there may be longer than usual wait times but that was never communicated to us and we should have left but had already invested the time. If I could give zero stars I would! I wanted to share my experience I had last week. I went to Chili's on EW Connector for lunch and as I went to pickup my corn, a small roach crawled from it!!! I got so sick however I was able to capture it with my phone while trying to compose myself. I got the hosts attention and asked for the manager. When she came over I explained what I saw and she told me, " she didn't know what a roach looked like." I pulled of the video and showed her. Her tone changed and as she handed my phone back I threw up... I went to the bathroom gathered myself and left! I haven't been able to really eat since and don't care to step foot in another restaurant. I know it's not every restaurant but that video still plays over in my head! I did Tweet about my experience and tagged the support page. They instructed me to send my contact info via DM... But of course I heard nothing from them and that was 3 days ago. According to their page they are available 24/7. Yelp doesn't allow videos to be posted but I have posted to Twitter and Nextdoor. read more
