So I go up and say hey it's says on the waitlist we're ready to be seated and I kid you not she said "Oh it's going to be another 30 minutes". We wait the thirty more minutes totaling around 1 hour and 30 minutes of waiting. So I got the surf and turf ribeye. The shrimp and mash potatoes are fine because you can't mess that up. Then taking a bite into the steak, I realize don't get the steak ever again. Its lack of flavor left only the juice of the shrimp to give it a semblance of taste and it only made it worse. Every time I visit here, there are so many customers turned away. It doesn't matter what time of day or how many people are here, the hosts tell everyone the wait is an hour to an hour and a half. It is unbelievable to add up all the money turned away that could be made. There are plenty of staff, waitresses and plenty of tables always open. I hope corporate is at least aware. Tonight, they fell short of the mark in a couple of key areas and it made the difference in a good dining experience and a not-so-good one. It was fairly busy on a Saturday night and we waited about 20 minutes (not bad). The server (Jackson) promptly took our drink order and by the time he returned we were ready to order. The food came out in about 15 minutes. Well, HALF the food came out in about fifteen minutes. My wife got the Old Timer Burger ($8.39) with Onion Rings ($1 upcharge) but the Onion Rings didn't come out with the burger. I got the Chicken Crispers ($10.69) with Corn on the Cob and Fries, but the Fries didn't come out with the meal. None of the food was very hot to begin with and by the time we got the Onion Rings and Fries (10 minutes later), the rest of it was cold. It takes a lot for me to send food back...I think it is wasteful, and this didn't rise to the occasion of being so bad that it needed to be returned. So I made the best of it and ate it as it was (not very appetizing). The other issue, although seemingly trivial, involved my tea. It had just a small amount of ice in it to start with and when it was refilled, the warm tea melted all the ice, leaving nothing but lukewarm tea to drink. I didn't realize this until after the server had poured and walked away, and I didn't see him again before I drank the tea. Chili's has some of the priciest tea around at $2.89 At that price, I tend to elevate the tea factor from trivial to significant. All told, we spent $29 on a meal that was not up to par. We stopped here off the interstate for lunch. We were told that they were understaffed, so settled in at our table expecting to be patient. The hostess and server were very friendly, but you could tell the place was in shambles. The bathroom was disgusting. It needs a serious deep clean and there was sitting water all over the floor. Our food order came out incorrect. We had both ordered steak and chicken fajitas and only chicken came out. No biggie, they said they would bring out some steak. Both of our meals were cold, not warm at all, missing ingredients and we were constantly swatting flies away. I didn't bother to send it back because I'm never returning. Ended up going to Chili's after walking out on Wild Wing Cafe. Thursday evening, around 6:30pm, we were seated promptly with the wait consisting only of the parties ahead of us at the hostess stand being seated. Service was good, as was the food. Decent beer selection and our server knew what was available. We enjoyed our visit and will visit again. Two suggestions for the restaurant that held me back from five stars... #1 - please clean / dust the ceilings near the air vents... the dirt accumulation is a little unsettling #2 - need to have enough functioning electronic table kiosks/screens. Our server had to first get us one, and then get a different one when the first one wasn't working right -- this added a bunch of time to finishing & paying when we were ready to leave and continue our evening errands. First time at this chilis location. We walked to our table and the floors were COVERED in food/trash so much that our shoes were sticking to the floor. We got to our table which was also sticky and the booth had crumbs all over. We asked for wet wipes to clean our table ourselves. There was no airflow so the air actually felt thick and sticky as well. I ordered a burger and wasn't asked how i wanted it cooked but it came to the table without the fries on the plate and 2 tiny pieces of soggy avocado on the burger... I asked the server for fries and he looked at me confused as if it doesn't clearly state on the menu that all burgers come with fries.. my fiancé got some smokehouse combo that comes with Texas toast and without an explanation was given a random breadstick instead of the Texas toast.
