It seems I haven't written a review for this Chi'Lantro despite the fact it is the one I visit most. It's great and it's near an HEB, so hubs and I will come here then go grocery shopping so we aren't going there on an empty stomach. There isn't a ton of seating, but we usually manage to get a spot. Probably because of the lack of chairs, this place constantly gets busy with to go orders. Doordashers and the like are in and out every time we have been here. The kimchi fries are fantastic. Like so good and I crave them all the time. Hubs gets his with the Kpop chicken and he tells me it's delicious. I get mine with the tofu, because of course. Pretty impressed! This place is essentially a Korean Chipotle. Very unique and haven't seen something like it. Stopped here after a coworker recommended it. My bowl was absolutely filled to the brim with food and no matter how hungry I would be, I don't think i would've been able to finish it. I got the beef bulgogi, and it wasn't the best in the world but it got the job done. Great assortment of veggies and I loved that I was able to choose Japchae noodles for my base. I don't know what I expected, but it's actually pretty good. Portion sizes are decent, and lots of different options. I was helped out by Sofia, she gave great customer service. She help me decide what I should get by describing the options really well, and giving me her favorite recommendations. The staff is welcoming and very friendly. The space is very neat, clean, and suitable for a quick stop lunch. I've been to the restaurants next-door, but I got to say this spot just became one of my favorites! The menu is very well put together. They only except card, no cash. I love Chi'Lantro's food. But the Mueller location is a weak location. A lot of it has to do with the space. It is a long narrow box that is confining no matter where you sit in the store. There is a back view on to the side wall of a building on Lancaster Drive that is mildly ugly. There is a front view on to the Best Buy parking lot that is positively ugly. In the summer, in the afternoon and evening, the sun comes blazing through the plate glass windows at 666 degrees. You go blind from the light and the air conditioning has to work overtime to deal with the heat. Management may want to think about sun shades for the windows. Any trip to any Starbucks with a plate glass window and management will know what kind of shades to buy. Furniture is seriously uncomfortable. Tall stools with no place to put your feet with hard seats and a hard table. They want you to eat and go. No lingering please. I don't like being made uncomfortable while I eat. * * * The previous items are all "permanent" problems. There was one short term problem that was a fluke. I showed up in the middle of a mini-onrush of customers. Had I come fifteen or twenty minutes later, I would have gotten instant service. I suspect the same would have held if I had come fifteen or twenty minutes earlier. But during the rush, they ran out of fries and had to come up with some quickly. I am pretty sure they cut the cooking time short on mine. My fries were white, pale, and utterly unappealing. This is not good on a plate of Korean Chicken fries. Chi'lantro is known for its fries ... So I suspect my not-wonderful meal was an aberration. * * * To be repetitively redundant and to say what was in the intro all over again, Chi'lantro's is usually good food.
