#3 Braised Korean BBQ Pork Bowl
Candace B.

This is such a yummy spot for lunch! I love getting their bowls, and the fact that they deliver through DoorDash makes it even better since I can keep working instead of running out to pick something up. I ordered the braised Korean BBQ pork bowl with all the veggies, and the person who made it did such a beautiful job putting it together. As usual, the flavor was spot-on and delicious. Definitely one of my go-to lunch options!

Queso Fries
Stephanie C.

Solid go-to for fast casual Asian fusion, especially if you're into customizing your meal just the way you like it. I usually order to-go or through DoorDash, and the experience is consistently good. This time around, I tried the queso fries and a build-your-own bowl with soy-glazed chicken and magic sauce. Queso Fries: The queso itself was delicious - creamy, flavorful, and definitely the star of the dish. The fries were just okay; they came a little soggy, probably from the delivery time, so I'd guess this one is much better enjoyed fresh and in-house. Build-Your-Own Bowl: Think Chipotle-style, but with Korean-inspired ingredients. The soy-glazed chicken was tender and flavorful, and the toppings were super fresh. The magic sauce really pulls everything together: sweet, tangy, and just a little kick. Definitely recommend this combo. Overall, a reliable spot when you're craving something quick, customizable, and tasty with a Korean twist. Would love to dine in next time to get everything at peak freshness!

Lunch break!

Stopped here for lunch with a coworker. Color design and dishes. Chicken was over done, but the flavor and blend of everything else was rather tasty. Service is pretty standard for your get in and get out type of restaurant.

Great food and friendly staff! Everything was delicious. The restaurant is very cleaning and welcoming as well :)

I ordered a small WRAP. They put so much in it, it wouldn't be wrapped up at all and all the contents were spilling out.

I ordered a SMALL WRAP. What I got was a small tortilla that was so full, it couldn't be closed, nevermind wrapped like it was SUPPOSED to be... and the contents were spilling out everywhere the literal moment I unwrapped it - check the pic. That's literally how they gave it to me. The woman who wrapped it right in front of me couldn't have had less shame. She truly did not care. Taste was alright. Tofu was actually pretty yummy. But presentation was god awful.

Yum! It's been years since I've eaten at a Chilantro. Love the flavors and the quick convenience model of this place. Beautiful new space next to Madam Ma'am's. Staff was friendly and helpful. Obviously, if you want "real" Korean bbq, then head up north to Chinatown, or down to San Antonio. This is a quick place to grab some rice, meat, fried egg and kimchi. Comfort American-ized Korean food. In line with Chipotle and Panda Express.

Garlic soy chicken

Sent my husband to get me some soy garlic chicken wings and this what what he returned with. Not photographed are regular fries. I couldn't help but laugh. I went back to look at the menu and this wasn't even on there. The items were good but the fact that there are no menu upon walking up to the counter really bothers me. I always get anxiety about other patrons waiting for me to make up my mind. This is probably why my husband didn't get the wings but these little chicken bites. A container of chicken, regular French fries, and a fountain drink was $15. The service was great and restaurant was clean. Probably won't be back though! Sorry chilantro.

Spicy Pork Bowl

So, I'm trying to eat healthier so our group decided to try Chi'Lantro. It's a "build it yourself" Korean BBQesque place... set up kind of like a Freebirds or MOD Pizza set up where you choose a base, protein and toppings. I chose a spinach base then spicy pork and pretty much everything else I could add... black beans, 2 kinds of corn, carrots, sesame seeds.... Everything except cooked bell peppers (why would anyone want this taste killer). Perhaps the most interesting thing in the mix is the caramelized Kimchi. My server, Ethan, did a great job of explaining everything to me as I wasn't sure how the process went or what a few of the ingredients tasted like. He also recommended a finishing sauce that was a winner. It. Was. Delicious. Big enough that I saved half for lunch the next day. It was under $15.

I had their chips & guac today for the first time and liked it. I've had their fries before, and those are solid as well (I would recommend getting the fries with a topping). I couldn't do one of their bowls every day, but it can be a good change up. Prices are reasonable and if you order in advance, the food is almost always done by the time you arrive so that you can skip the line.

B'bimbop Bowl

So much about this place is inviting in terms of aesthetic and concept (that draws obvious notes from Chipotle) -- food is decent but doesn't live up to its subtitle of being "Korean BBQ Inspired". That idea could and should work, but it doesn't... in too many ways, starting with the most key of them all, the flavors of the Korean BBQ. Still, credit for being clean, bright, and relatively straight forward in the preparations. The wings are pretty good. The b'bimbop bowl is an un-cohesive assembly of ingredients that neither wows nor disappoints. Overall, would be more fitting if it portrayed itself as any less specific category of better-than-fast-food but still fast casual American... good enough for a otherwise boring dinner after work.

Feels quite safe as well. We waited about 10 minutes, so they're clearly popular. Service was great, they were quick to refill our banchan small dishes, and portions were quite large too. Banchan included potatoes, japchae, octopus, kimchi, and purple rice, which was a nice touch. I don't usually love purple rice, but this was good. No fried fish like some other spots offer, but everything else more than made up for it. Decor is simple and bright inside. Beef Tofu Soondobu, Spicy Level 6 ($18, 8/10) - Pretty solid soondobu, comes with mushroom in the standard option, which was an interesting touch - Portion of beef was moderate - Spice level 6 was tolerable, not overwhelming (though I'm not great at judging spice levels, so probably could've gone higher) - Lots of tofu in the bowl, really enjoyed this - roth flavor was great, not the best ever, but definitely not the worst Overall, really enjoyed this spot. Feels like a mom and pop kind of place, great service, great banchan flavor, and probably one of the best soondobu spots in Austin. Would definitely come back.

Although I wasn't a fan of the batter, it wasn't a big deal. Good with rice and onions add freshness! Short Rib 4/5 This has a lighter flavor. The first time I went it wasn't great because it was chewy but the second time I went it was delicious! Steamed Egg 2/5 Although this was hot and soft, there was no flavor at all other than egg. I wouldn't get it again. Kimchi Pancake 4/5 This was crispy and good but it was a bit doughy and it needs more kimchi. The sauce was yummy though! I like vinegar flavors so this sauce was more salty than tangy. It also had a yummy onion flavor. Pork Belly 5/5 Although this came plain and seems like not much, it was actually very delicious! The pork belly was juicy, tender, and it had a nice fat flavor. Yang Dak 5/5 This is a very saucy, sweet, savory, and delicious dish! I enjoyed the fried rice cakes that came with it, and the sauce added so much to it! The radish was bitter but I'm not sure if there was something wrong with my tastebuds. The flavor was sweet, savory, and very gochujang. Juicy and crispy! Kimchi Stew 5/5 This kimchi stew is fresh, spicy, salty, tangy, and everything needed after a long day! Honestly, the personal serving was big and enough for 3 people. Definitely try this out! Good vibes at night, good service, not bad prices compared to nearby places, check it out!

We walked in at 9:03 PM on a Tuesday expecting they were still open based on the posted hours, but were told they had already closed. Instead of a polite, "I'm sorry, we just closed," the hostess greeted us with a condescending, "Uh, are you meeting someone here?" I don't believe they do reservations but shortly after we were sat there was a waiting line. The restaurant was at full capacity with people at the sushi bar and regular tables. When entering you were promptly greeted and the staff was friendly. We ordered: * Chirashi - 5/5 super fresh sashimi and the presentation was beautiful. The bowl came with some pickled onion and cucumber of some sort. Served with a salad and seaweed paper * spicy pork - 5/5 it's not blow your head off spicy on the first bite but the more you eat the spicier it gets. I was making me break a sweat! This paired really well with the banchan. It's served with a bowl of rice. * complimentary banchan- 4/5 kimchi, seasoned onion, fish cakes, and an elbow salad . The kimchi and seasoned onion were my favorites. The fish cake was ok but it was a bit fishy. The elbow salad was bland. These banchan came in small little bowls and we had to ask our waiter to refill the banchan since there was 4 of us. * unagi nigiri- 5/5 the unagi was so good! One of the best unagi I had in a while! It was the perfect amount of sauce and I wish I would have ordered another one. * hotate nigiri- 5/5 like wow! I was pleasantly surprise the freshness of the scallop and it just melted in your mouth. It was smoky and idk what sauce they brushed the scallop with but it made the perfect bite. I also wished I ordered a second one of these. * salmon nigiri- 4/5- it was a good salmon nigiri. Wasn't the best I've ever had but it was good Note: I originally wanted to get their big spread bento box with all different types of Korean food that they had when they first open. But I was sad and disappointed to hear they had discontinue that. The only bento box presentation they do is the sushi. I really kicked myself for not coming sooner when they had that so I can try a little bit of everything they had on the menu with the large bento box spread. Do I recommend this place? Absolutely the vibe is great and the service is great. This place is a great date night gem and a casual treat your self to a great meal! I definitely recommend trying this Ghama Zone! They have a massive menu and you can eat Korean food and sushi :) best of both worlds! The sushi is high quality too! We can wait to come back to try their other dishes!
