Highly disgusted with some of the service and possibly the ethics of this company! Each time I have visited the store I have felt tremendous pressure to purchase more than I originally came in for; this time I was looking for one blouse, but left the store with 3 sweaters I hadn't really wanted, and a bill of $290. It was later adjusted--to $244 for a 'mistake' by the salesclerk in not giving me the online deal-of-the day price (marked down from $113 to 67.00, "just for to- day") until I returned to the store to ask for it! I was bombarded with things like, "Oh we can order the matching pants that go with your top" and "oh here, try this necklace with that sweater," and "here are 3 other shirts and a jacket and some other pants you would look great in and would LOVE to own--not helping me just find the one top I wanted in the first pace, for a very specific event. They had one that was snagged and another in a size too small for what I needed it to do and I think they should have just stopped right then and placed the order for me, but not until after another hour of trying on various 'substitutes' that might work could that happen, and then not until after she had me find it on my cell phone and point out that I could order it myself online! To continue, the top I wanted, I clearly said had to be in my hands by this next Monday and I thought I would order it online ad get the great price, then pay expedited shipping to my home (3 hours away from the store). They said oh no, no, much quicker if they just order it and they would take care of everything! Well, it is Thursday, I need it Monday: so I tried to find a way to track my order. Their website could not find me even tho' I had an account number!. Eventually I got in to my account and it said "no recent orders,,," so I called the store. Could they help me track my package--absolutely not! They saw there was a blouse purchase, but could give me no further info OF ANY KIND. The young voice on the phone repeating words of the manager whose voice I recognized from Saturday, but was having to soften the manager's tone into "just let me give you the customer service number (on their website) and they will be able to help give you all the info you need." The people who, on Saturday, were so 'helpful' in taking my money and telling me what I should be buying and wearing could not do anything to help me today and were in fact quite brusque with me. But I did call the customer service number. After a 50 minute wait 'on hold' with no check -backs, I gave up! My top may or may not come--but I feel extremely unhappy with the whole thing and will work very hard to not have to purchase from them again and to spread the word. Some ladies may have plenty of money for these expensive clothes and lots of time to check in with the store, or follow their rewards accounts. I am not one of them and frankly now questioning the actual value of anything I have EVER purchased there--going back about 5 years! One of the big concepts in retail is that you must 'sell the sale' before, during, and after so the the buyer leaves and remains happy. They only seem to care about the money-taking part of the sale! read more
