And then they said that nobody ask people how they're doing or what their name is. I said, I don't mind you asking me how I'm doing and I don't mind telling you that but I do mind you asking me what my name is, if I wanted to share I would. Then they said "well, I'm just asking because if you purchased something, we do require your name for a receipt". So, I said " Ok. Thank you for letting me know your policy but I don't think I will shop here" and left. I wanted to buy locally but did not feel comfortable shopping there. By the way, there was nobody in the store and it appeared that the back room was dark; it just kind of gave me the creeps.

On the minus side, most of their clothing seems to be mad of man-made fabrics. I prefer natural fibers such as cotton, wool, bamboo, etc., although they do carry some. The only reason I don't shop at Silk Road Connection more often is that I am retired and no longer need office apparel. What I would like to see more of is high-end casual clothing such as Cut Loose, Kleen, Heartstring, Gerties, or Tribal. In that case I would shop there at least weekly.

The clothing racks are clean and organized as are the merchandise shelves. The selection of products spans a broad spectrum from casual and playful, to formal and upscale. Last September we were faced with an unexpected death of a young niece. I was faced with many challenges to overcome in a short span of time. I immediately went to my walk in closet looking for an appropriate suits and other dress clothing to wear during four days of greeting friends, neighbors and relatives who would be arriving from locations within Arizona, many other States and Countries. There would be Mortuary visitation, a Rosary, Funeral Mass, a Post Mass Luncheon, Private Family Internment at the Cemetery in 125 degree weather. I had lost over 100 lbs since moving to Albuquerque 4 Years earlier. Time to head to Nordstrom Rack with quit a long shopping list. I needed two suits, two sport coats, two pair of dress slacks, four pair of dress socks, two pair of shoes and two belts. I knew that I would be able to find everything with one stop shopping at a very wallet friendly budget. Two hours later we were back home with a heavy weight lifted off my shoulders. A very personable and attentive young lady approached me as I entered the Men's clothing department. She cheerfully offered, "Please allow me to set up one of our larger Men's dressing rooms for you. I will I'll also bring you a rolling rack to hang all of your clothing selections on so you can take everything with you in one trip. My name is Cheryl, should you need anything else don't hesitate to ask. If you don't readily see me please ask another associate to page me and I will be with you within two minutes." Upon arriving at the dressing there was a small table with bottled cold water, crackers and cheese and napkins. Within two days the store manager received a hand written letter stating what an example of true customer service had taken place in Nordstrom Rack from a Team Member who was a true Shining Star.

And even…read morethough regular price items aren't cheap and can be more on the expensive side, if you wandered to their sale sections..you can often find some really good deals out there. So, you can still get an upper middle end shopping experience without breaking a bank. What I appreciate more is the staff though. They are friendly and helpful. Very polite and not pushy at all. It's a pleasant experience especially if you just want to browse and not have people constantly looking over you and talking to you about everything you touch at a store. This is a great place to find a gift for some female relatives or colleagues/friends for sure.

The prices were pretty high for someone like me, but I ended up finding a wonderful white silk shirt with light blue yoke with Red and dark blue appliques and long royal blue fringe, in my XL size on the clearance rack. The shirt was originally $300 and 66% off. $100 for a totally unique shirt that I have received so many compliments on every time I have worn it. I don't usually spend a lot of money on my clothes, but I am thinking I need to go back and get me another one of these over-the-top shirts. Makes me feel like Patsy Cline when I sing at an open Mic or play my fiddle at a jam.
