The apparel is unique, modern and high-end without breaking your budget. Also, they offer quite a bit of colorful pieces. It is so nice to see clothing in something other than black and taupe. On the minus side, most of their clothing seems to be mad of man-made fabrics. I prefer natural fibers such as cotton, wool, bamboo, etc., although they do carry some. The only reason I don't shop at Silk Road Connection more often is that I am retired and no longer need office apparel. What I would like to see more of is high-end casual clothing such as Cut Loose, Kleen, Heartstring, Gerties, or Tribal. In that case I would shop there at least weekly.

The shirt was originally $300 and 66% off. $100 for a totally unique shirt that I have received so many compliments on every time I have worn it. I don't usually spend a lot of money on my clothes, but I am thinking I need to go back and get me another one of these over-the-top shirts. And then they said that nobody ask people how they're doing or what their name is. I said, I don't mind you asking me how I'm doing and I don't mind telling you that but I do mind you asking me what my name is, if I wanted to share I would. Then they said "well, I'm just asking because if you purchased something, we do require your name for a receipt". So, I said " Ok. Thank you for letting me know your policy but I don't think I will shop here" and left. I wanted to buy locally but did not feel comfortable shopping there. This is a consignment store, not a Goodwill so the prices are definitely going to be higher although they do have a color-coded system for sale items. Everything in here fits within a 5000 square-foot space and they have lots of furniture and clothing of course (mostly women's). They also have oddball items like hot wheels, comic books, and baseball cards. If you don't wanna pay that new furniture price, they definitely have a great assortment of couches, chairs, and tables for about half retail. Plenty of jewelry on display as well. They do have three dressing rooms, but no public bathroom.

They explained that they have a lottery system for people bring items in to sell. They only take 3 people each Tuesday, and they are booked until July for people to bring their items in. Even then, it is a lottery, so technically you may never get chosen to sell your items to them. They said they pay $8 for pants, and other clothing is priced accordingly. Wow! What a pain to try and do business here. It was hardly worth the trip and I will not be back.
