Chicks is so amazing. The food is delicious healthy the people are wonderful. I can't say enough good things about it. Just take my advice and go there and you'll appreciate it as much as I do.

This place is a gem! Came here once and now will come here almost every lunch. The food is huge portions and healthy. The chicken bowl has huge chucks of white meat along with steamed veggies and rice. My burrito plate came with a full size burrito and 2 sides. Great price and a healthy option. Grabbed lunch from here a few weeks ago just to try it and it was really nice. The chicken was juicy and a great portion of white meat but I do think it could've used a bit more seasoning. Same thing with the mashed potatoes, just a bit of salt would go a long way. The steamed veggies were good and the side of pickled cabbage was my favorite but did dye my fingers lol.

Great fresh, high quality and healthy food. The order was ready quickly - freshly steamed veggies and the chicken is tenderloin, freshly chopped. They offer a selection of sauces to add to your bowl. Great portion size too. This place is a good lunch or dinner option. The rotisserie chicken family packs are also great.

Support them! The people who work here are super nice and their food is award winning. Been eating here since I was a kid and it's still so bomb.

While I'm no negative Nancy, I don't have much positivity to shine on the food here. Quite frankly, I was a little saddened after reading reviews and being directed to try Chicks Natural after a post on a SD Foodie group. I truly wanted to like this local small business restaurant's offerings. Cross my heart. Unfortunately, it didn't happen that way. The restaurant itself was giving no fuss, straight to the point, nothing to see here, order at the counter, wait for your meal, peace out vibes. The main course of chicken was mealy. Both the mashed potatoes and (neon orange) macaroni and cheese lacked seasoning. The steamed veggies weren't anything spectacular, but they weren't extremely mushy, so we liked them. The best part was the corn bread muffins. Delish. The price was on par with the recommendation. The service was too. The only thing that brought the stars down was the food. read more

I stopped in during a recent shopping trip. There was no dine in and a couple of tables outside. I opted to eat in my car since the tables were occupied. I ordered the chicken lunch special with white meat. The chicken was good and tasty. I chose brown rice and vegetables for my side. I was trying to be healthy but these sides were boring and bland. Great for dieters, though. Next time, I'll just go for it and order some tastier sides. The cornbread was good but could have used some butter and honey. The owners were friendly and helpful. I will be return when I'm back in this neck of the woods. Parking lot is a little tight and busy. And pulling out of the parking lot was a little tough with the amount of cars coming down the hill. read more

Food is healthy well portioned and priced! I hope they can add more ambiance to the place so it doesn't get too dated and tired looking because we need as many healthy mid priced spots like this to stay popular. Definitely a little more variety with their spices and sauces as options on the side would be great as well. They can present things while in the restaurant a little less "to go" definitely need less plastics, etc. I get it is needed for takeout, but not for dine in. read more

Always wanted to check this place out and finally did this evening. The food was good but a bit too bland for me. The chicken, mashed potatoes, and mac-n-cheese did not have much flavor. They were not bad, just kinda bland for my taste. The salad , corn on cob, and corn bread was really good tho. They offer a variety of other choices as well, which is a nice option to have other than just rice, beans, and tortillas. As for the dining room and decor, well, lets just say 1988 called and they want their decorations back. It's kinda basic and dated inside but I can live with it. What I thought was impressive was the value and amount of food you get. We ordered a family combo meal and a few sides and we were full and still had plenty left over. If they used seasoning on their dishes, this place would be epic. Anyways, I enjoyed the meal and will definitely go back. Definitely recommend. read more

The food is always great, been eating here for years. Unfortunately the service is typically pretty bad. I usually come earlier in the day, the shorter Hispanic woman is always rude, short with me, and typically forgets items in my order which is frustrating. Funnily enough the guy that I've seen later in the day at the counter is a lot nicer and more helpful and communicates with me. Love the food but service could use work. read more

This place is an Encinitas staple. No frills, just a lovely, clean operation with excellent, simple, great tasting chicken and sides. The service here has always been above board. Everyone is responsive, friendly, accommodating, as well as incredibly quick and efficient. At least once a month, I find myself calling to order a whole chicken and a side of broccoli, and when I walk in the door, it's always ready to go, and I am in and out in literally less than a minute . The food here is so healthy that I feel quite virtuous after eating. Depending on the time, there could be chicken roasting in the rotisserie ovens located next to the two entrances. I usually get the Combo #1 which consists of a quarter rotisserie chicken with two sides and a choice of bread. They always serve an extra chicken piece with the leg and thigh. Sometimes it is an additional leg, other times it is two chicken wings. The portion is generous and the chicken is falling off the bone with simple seasonings. The chicken here is delicious. I always choose the steamed vegetables and a sweet potato or a coleslaw for the sides. The vegetables are steamed fresh, not from frozen. That makes a huge difference. The broccoli and carrots are cooked perfectly with a natural sweetness in taste. The roasted sweet potato is a yellow one with a creamy texture and a slight nutmeg taste. I really like the homemade cornbread. It is a small muffin so I break off the top to eat last. The texture is slightly moist. There is not any dryness. The corn muffin top has a nice crunch on the edges. read more

What a great find for a healthy inexpensive weekday (or weekend) family dinner! I'll admit, chicken is chicken, but Chick's is pretty darn good. The sides and everything tastes very homemade, you can't beat the price either. Recently got takeout for myself and 2 kids while the wife was on a work trip; a whole chicken wasn't quite enough, should've gone with a whole and a half. Jumbo sizes are perfect for 3 people. The Mac N Cheese was good, the mashed potatoes and gravy are great, and the mixed veggies are delicious! Topping it off, the service is good, they have an efficient operation with Minimal wait. I ordered online for a 6:30 pickup and it was bagged up and ready to go right on time! I have zero complaints, we will definitely be back! read more

Chicks Natural is the best! It's our go-to when we're in the mood for something healthy but also delicious and fulfilling. Their chicken is so tender and flavorful and the sides are great too. I always get the steamed veggies and mashed or sweet potato. I love how they don't overdo or overcook the veggies- they're simple but yummy! Just how I like it. My boyfriend usually gets the chicken burrito and always comments on how tasty and huge it is, especially for the price. The people who work there are also so nice and welcoming every time we go! Hard to believe that I've lived in the area for 24 years, my dry cleaners is in the same center. We happened to be hungry and saw the lunch special for $6.99 which is an incredible deal. We were going to get smoothies, then we saw another sandwich place for sandwiches at $13. it it was a combination of right time right place and being hungry in this moment. AMAZING EXCELLENT SUPERBLY DELICIOUS ROTISSERIE CHICKEN! Wow so so SO good! My family & I ate up our entire meal before anyone realized to snap a photo for a review. When food is that good; being that enticing, there's no time to spare. This chicken is hands down the BEST ROTISSERIE CHICKEN I'VE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE DEVOURING! Ordered the chicken sandwich with honey mustard (which btw is my favorite and I have been enjoying their chicken sandwich for 20 years now. There used to be a chicks chicken location in Vista CA ). Also ordered the chicken burrito which is HUGE (enough to feed 2 1/2 people ). Family said "wow this is so good and tastes homemade - quality ingredients as well as perfectly moist and tender chicken. Melts in your mouth!" All around a spectacular restaurant that will fulfill your every chicken foodie desires and/or fulfilling your hungry stomach and wowing your taste buds. Staff was friendly and food came fast! Covid Update for Chick's Natural- Their Chicken is...BETTER than EVER!!! Gosh, I can't believe that I wrote my first review of Chick's over 12 years ago! Since then they have ALWAYS provided reliably GREAT food. Their chicken is consistently moist, meaty, all natural, and not overly salty. Now you can even order online via their website or just press the "order" button on your Yelp app. How easy is that?! They offer touchless transactions and enforce social distancing. Super duper easy, safe, and soooo convenient! You seriously can't go wrong with any of their sides because their veggies and salads are always crispy and fresh and their mashed potatoes are creamy, tasty , and perfectly seasoned. So what's my foodie insider favorite dish at Chick's? Their AWESOME Chicken Soup!!! OMG, their soup is loaded with fresh veggies and big, tender pieces of breast meat combined in a fragrant broth. We've been going to Chicks in Encinitas since the mid 80's when they opened. Very recently the chicken has changed. We usually go for dinner, but the last two times we purchased the Lunch Special, the two legs we received were not only larger than usual, they were very, very tough. They appeared to be from an old rooster, rather than what was usually served. I don't know if they're buying cheaper chicken because of the economy or what. We will see how the chicken is next time and decide if it is our last time eating at Chicks. read more

The restaurant provides a self-serve sauce bar with plenty of sauce options. They also provide large paper towel rolls at each table as well as multiple sinks located around the restaurant so that it is easy to clean your hands after eating! The servers are very attentive.

My friend liked her mushroom, pepperoni and sausage pizza and her Caesar salad was overdressed and covered in too much parmesan. The space is new, clean and very comfortable. The parking lot is hit and miss with lots of eateries in a small lot with small parking spaces. If you sign up for their rewards program you get a free appetizer. We got the Buffalo cauliflower which was okay, again heavily sauced so it was soggy. But hey, it was free!

I usually order an iced matcha latte with oat milk and a Sweet Toast inside the market, then when I'm ready I switch to a cup or two of hard kombucha, which always has ingredients plucked from the farm, depending on what is seasonal. Everything is always delicious and delightful. Service at this walk-up coffee area is friendly. There is plenty of seating outside, in the front or back of the open-air market, and lingering for hours is encouraged. I like taking a walk around the perimeter farm while I'm there as well. There is an apothecary and a brewery on the premises, as well as a coffee roasting area. This part of the farm always seems to be closed for a private event, but that just adds to the bustling and community atmosphere. There is a couch area with a fire pit (and one in the back) in addition to the assortment of tables, a huge grass area and a natural (wood) climbing structure for kids to play, and sometimes they have live music there. There are always families and Encinitas locals hanging out and enjoying all that this place has to offer. There is a pizza stall in front of the market, as well as Huerta Tacos stand in back. Hours for these vary depending on the day. Both are not cheap, but the food is fresh and delicious, made with quality ingredients and interesting flavors. I sometimes treat myself to either, depending on who I'm with or what time of day it is. There is also a restaurant upstairs, and I have eaten there once, but prefer coming to hang at the Harvest Market and getting my food and drinks there. I live in the Vista/Carlsbad area, but it is worth the 20-25 minute drive to come hang out here for the afternoon!

Nice filling, healthy snack. The market has a variety of fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, including edible ones, a small Café with hot and cold, freshly made drinks, including the option of ones with vegan plant milk, as well as a small baked goods case full of vegan cookies and muffins. Nice selection of interesting drinks, including Matcha & Ube. A nice selection of vegan items for sale. This very modern up scale barn is on a spacious property with ample outdoor hard seating, including individual chairs, both metal and wood picnic tables with benches, hardwood Adirondack chairs around a large fire pit in the back. If you prefer soft seating like me, there are only a few on the property, a couch by the outdoor fireplace inside up in the restaurant and balcony. The outdoor pizza kitchen has a variety of made to order cooked in front of you pizzas including vegan (must ask for vegan cheese substitute) or gluten-free egg, white and cauliflower crust. The Cook said most of the pizzas can be made with the vegan cheese. Included a few nice options with pesto sauce, truffle, mushroom, and more. After seeing a few come out out of the oven with the bubbled crust, I'm looking forward to returning and giving one a try. It seemed to be the favorite menu item of the outdoor diners, as the tables were full of them. Parking is on a dirt and gravel stretch so skip the sandals and flip-flops & wear closed toed tennis shoes. There are walking paths around the properties so you can get in a nice stroll before having a nibble and a drink. The path around the property you'll see their crops of produce and flowers growing as well as the animals they have: horses, goats pigs. Upstairs after 4 PM, they have a nice clean-looking modern style restaurant featuring a nice menu with a variety of six vegetarian and one vegan pasta option. The hostess, who claimed she was also vegetarian was quick to point out all the vegetarian options some can be converted to vegan by omitting the cheese or dairy ingredient. There's a nice tall bar upstairs with stools and one TV for watching news or sports. Apparently they have a brunch weekends only with a menu that also looks very inviting. The property has a large selection of bottled wines, a micro brewery and a coffee bean brewery. Family friendly, a nice place to go to get a bite and drink, stretch your legs, enjoy fresh air (although a bit dusty near parking lot). Country music is playing loudly in and around the property. We have an expanse of grass for picnic in a play area that's very natural and organic and appearance and a glass house which opens up onto a hard scape patio available for a private event events. The people were friendly and welcoming. It's a spot of natural plot of country near the coast line in Encinitas.

Having said that, it was an extremely generous portion so he was filled up. Anyways, ask for their chili sauce on the side, that's actually quite surprising. It had really good heat and was more like a chili crisp than a vinegary hot sauce. The plates that did score favorably at the table were the carne chilaquiles and the divorced eggs.

This is my favorite lunch spot in Encinitas. I work very close to the restaurant in a hair salon upstairs and I eat lunch here 3-4 times per week. The chicken is consistently great and I usually stick to the salad and vegetables as the side and they are always amazing too . I also find it very affordable to eat the lunch special . I live a healthy paleo lifestyle so I can't eat at a lot of restaurants and that's why I like chics chicken is because it is a very healthy simple menu like a home cooked meal . The staff is always friendly too and have never messed up my order before . And everything is ready to go so no lines or wait times , you just order , pay, and grab your food and go. Well she was right because it was dang good & not chewy but super soft. The lady owner was so nice and made our meal perfect! The restaurant was super clean & smelled so good. for starters, chick's has great iced tea - its fresh and not cloudy at all - very important. The chicken here is actually not that amazing. They have some mass appeal however because the place is always busy. I have had everything on their menu and prefer the rice bowl (brown rice) with ginger or terriyaki sauce and their burritos. Recently, I have been getting bones in my burritos which freaks me out. The chicken can be a bit dry, but overall the food is great for the price and a great stop for a fill up. read more
