I ordered online from Chicken Salad Chick on a Friday evening, and my order was ready when I arrived. The restaurant was pretty dead, but service was nice, just a little on the shy side. I tried the fancy nancy on croissant, Lauryn's Lemon Basil, Buffalo Barclay, and the grape salad with extra topping. The fancy nancy was just okay. Unfortunately it only had one grape in my sandwich, and honestly, that one grape was doing a lot of the heavy lifting. overall fancy nancy wasn't bad, just nothing to write home about. The Lauryn's lemon basil was good. That basil flavor is strong, almost a little overpowering; it really comes through. It was good with the crackers, and I'd order it again though I'm not in any rush. The buffalo barclay surprised me too. I'm used to buffalo-flavored foods being overly salty, but this one wasn't. I would've liked a little more heat, but it was still a solid choice. Probably my favorite of all the three I tried. The grape salad had me questioning the hype at first, but once I got into the extra topping...man, I got it. If my grapes were even sweeter naturally, man...wouldn't knocked it out the park. Overall, I like Chicken Salad Chick. It's an easy spot for a quick meal, and I'd happily work my way through more of the chicken salad varieties. First time ever at a Chicken Salad Chick. Very disappointing! The food had okay flavor, but nothing to brag about. * The sandwich my wife and I ordered on a croissant felt like there was not nearly enough actual chicken salad. Barely a smear. Lettuce and tomatoes on the sandwich seemed fresh, as did the croissant. * grape salad - not at all how I pictured it. Also, please don't include mushy, nasty old grapes in my salad. That's nasty! And you charged me for them?!? * Broccoli salad - the portion cups are already small, but you could've actually filled the cup up. I got a half-filled cup of salad. Barely a few fork-fulls. It had good flavor, but was not amazing, and I wonder who at the other half of my salad! * Tomato bisque - my wife picked this for a side. Again, it felt like half of it was missing. Who is working in the kitchen!?!? Quit eating 1/2 the food! She set her soup spoon inside the soup, and it wouldn't even cover the spoon. * Maybe the most annoying thing of all was the terrible customer service! The girl at the register seemed bothered that I was making her push buttons to take my order. No "welcome", just long, hard stares. I was on crutches, so they must think I have leprosy or something. After sitting to eat, the front kitchen people passed by every table except for ours! The "leprosy" crutches again, I presume. Of all people in the entire restaurant, we are the couple who could actually use a hand! Y'all suck. As such, we'll never be back. First time coming here.I usually won't visit a new place right when they open. Afraid of unorganized long waits bad service. But none of that going on here. Yes the line was a little long but a very nice employee pointed out they had 4 cashiers going and it won't take long. I waited in line 5 minutes and got my food 5 minutes after I sat down. I was having a hard day. My boss had just passed and I was very close with her. I have this memory with her, I had forgotten my lunch one day and she gave me half of hers. It was chicken salad chick. I had never heard of this place before but I was starving. It had to be the best chicken salad I had ever eaten, I don't know if it was because I was so hungry or if it was actually the food. I didn't know where this place was but after she passed I was missing her and wanted to feel close to her. So on my lunch break I googled the closest Chicken Salad Chick and went to the one in Tomball. It was mid November and I got the Deck the holly on a croissant with a grape salad. It was amazing and as I sat there eating my food i could almost imagine my boss walking in and ordering her food that day. Ever since that day I have eaten at this location about twice a week or more. I now have been hooked on Sassy Scotty which is amazing because I don't like bacon lol. I have introduced it to my friends and family and gotten them hooked as well. The staff is always so kind and bubbly. This turned my sad day of mourning into a sweet memory that now, every time I walk in I think of her and feel her love and warmth surrounding me in this place. We particularly love chicken salad so what better way to get it, from a place that specializes in chicken salad? This was our first time trying it out but will be my last. I was not impressed at all. It was sub-par. I read the reviews after we tried it so I have to agree with one reviewer. I had the Olivia's Old South Chicken Salad BLT on a croissant. There was just a smear of salad and the bacon was cold. My idea of a BLT is toasted bread (whatever kind that may be) with hot crispy bacon. They were stingy with the salad and the whole thing was cold. I didn't know I had to ask for it to be toasted. Also, I love cheese on just about everything so I asked for a slice. They "forgot" to add the cheese although it was listed on the ticket and I was charged extra for it. I had to bring this to their attention to get my slice of cheese. My husband opted for the Fancy Nancy on white bread and they asked him if he wanted it toasted, really? We both got the potato soup as a side, it was OK. What I do appreciate is that you get a deli pickle a cute little cookie with your order. Suggestion- put a generous amount of chicken salad on the sandwich please. After all, this is supposed to be all about chicken salad. I came to eat that, not the bread, lettuce and tomato. BLTs should be warm with freshly cooked bacon on toasted bread. read more
