They have some delicious desserts and I vaguely remember them from the few times I tried them, but I try to eat both halves of the sandwich and that's it, can't eat another bite. The service is always great, the people are well trained and are pleasant to deal with. Ambiance, what ambiance? It's a great place to go get your sandwich and we take it home to eat and watch TV. The one time we ate there, it took away from the glorious experience of eating that mouth watering goodness. There were other distracting people around us and keeping me from concentrating on my sandwich!

The atmosphere is calm and cool, making it the perfect place for a peaceful lunch away from the office. They've recently added wraps to the menu, which I'm a big fan of--fewer carbs, same great flavor. The sweet tea is delicious, and if you're a lemonade lover like me, you'll appreciate the fresh sugarcane lemonade. Prices are fair, which is always a bonus these days when finding a good deal feels like a win. The staff is consistently kind and helpful. Today I grabbed lunch to-go, and with three drinks in hand, they not only gave me a cupholder but even opened the door for me so I could get out easily. Small gestures like that make a big difference. Love this place--definitely one of my favorites!

Whenever venturing around our vast country, I like to frequent businesses that are not found where…read moreI live; naturally, I saw Portillo's (a native business from Chicago) and knew I had to try 'em out! First off, the outside as well as inside of the establishment is beautiful! When you walk in, the restaurant is beautifully decorated; it's a cross between a fast-food establishment and a restaurant dining-style. I believe another Yelper also mentioned that fact as well. One can order in two options: using the self-kiosk, or going to the counter where there is someone there to take your order. Having both options available is rather convenient. For my food, I got the Famous Meal #1: Italian Beef Sandwich. However, I came prepared: it was going to be personalized to be the perfect meal. FIRST: make it big ($2), then add sweet and hot peppers ($1.98), mozz cheese ($.89), and ordered slightly wet. For my sides, I opted for the large onion rings ($4.99), and in addition --- this is A LOT -- I got the famous Chocolate Cake Shake (additional $6.19). If you were going to get a normal meal, it would probably cost you about $14.57. Mine -- with all the add-ons? $26.88. Take that into consideration. How was the food? Portillo's is definitely the experience many Chicagoans have heaped about. The "dipped" Italian Beef Sandwich was generously portioned, and if I had anything to comment-on --- it would be adding more sweet + hot peppers to the sandwich. Besides that, everything else was spot-on. On to that famous milk-shake: if you're a first-timer DO IT. How does it taste? It honestly tastes like a "real" version of a frosty from Wendy's --- taste wise. At least we know what's in this milkshake: Ice Cream, Milk, and a slice of chocolate cake. It was thick, creamy, and hit the spot. All-in-all, I totally recommend Portillo's if there is a location near you! It's definitely an American institution and is worthy of the hype.

The restaurant has a casual, vibrant atmosphere with a Louisiana-inspired vibe that makes it a nice spot for hearty meals. The menu features classics like po'boys, fried seafood platters, gumbo, and other spicy favorites, with generous portions and satisfying taste. Parking is convenient, with a decent-sized lot right in front that makes arrival easy. Service was friendly and efficient, with attentive staff delivering hot food in a timely manner. It was surprising to find the place pretty empty during the visit, which allowed for a quiet, relaxed meal but seemed unusual for the quality of the food. This spot is best enjoyed as an occasional treat--everything on the menu tends to be heavily fried, making it indulgent but not ideal for regular visits for health reasons. When the craving strikes every couple of years, Cajun Street delivers a flavorful experience worth the stop.

I ordered the double patty burger adding a 1/2 order of fries and a small chili too. By the way this is a table service restaurant. They say the individual beef hamburger patties are 1/3 lb. but they sure look more like 1/4 lb. in weight to me because they are really thin. You probably want to get two like I did. The burger was tasty and I enjoyed it. Also the french fries are homemade and taste like it. Why can't more restaurants have fries like these rather than the frozen out of the bag kind? The 1/2 order size is large enough for 2 people to share. Finally their chili here is legit. Yummy! There is no doubt that this is a quality burger and fries eatery. Add in the chili and you will be happy when you dine here. My only negative is the price. No combos here so you pay list price for each item. It definitely had a nice kick of spice, but I realized iced chai just isn't for me. That's completely a personal preference, though. On my most recent visit, I ordered a vanilla latte, and it was excellent. The food is just as good as the drinks. I've had the pesto turkey sandwich and their breakfast sandwich, both served on their incredible homemade sourdough bread. The sourdough alone is worth coming back for. Service is also so good! Overall, Mama Bread has delicious coffee, great food, and an amazing atmosphere. It's a gorgeous place to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work done. I'd definitely recommend stopping by!
