All four social courts and two challenge courts were already filled at 8:10AM, but the rotation went by pretty quick. Play a game, 4 on then 4 off. Waited maybe 5-10min for the next game. It's very organized and efficient with the paddle rotation, and it's very friendly with many people coming here solo to play! Imagine an outdoor Dave and Buster's. That's what this is only with pickleball, shuffle board, jenga, connect 4 and corn hole. The food is good but I wish it was a little more varied. I feel like it was basically a marked up Chic Fil A. The service is a little confusing. We went in the front. Then we were told to walk to the pickleball to check in and then go back to eat (not short distances so that could be streamlined). Had an amazing time playing pickleball here a couple of weeks ago! We reserved a court for one hour and it was a perfect amount of time. There is seating and food ordering at courtside, which was awesome - we got the truffle fries and queso with chips and both were great. The establishment was clean and spacious. They have extra paddles for anyone who needs it and ice water by the entrance so no need to lug around your own water bottle. There's also lots of seating outside too to just chill and hang out. This was my first visit to C&P and my first go at pickleball. The facility is first rate for sure. Lots of courts, both indoor and outdoor. Some of the outdoor courts are shaded and some are not. I would definitely recommend reservations and make sure you get what you want court-wise. Oh, they also have some large Jenga-ish type blocks by the picnic tables for when you are waiting on a court or just grabbing a bite. They have table service for food and drinks and we found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I tried the chicken tenders, I mean it's Chicken and Pickle right? I'm torn - because this place isn't bad. The question is are we evaluating them based on food or based on the totality of their offerings? I am focusing primarily on the food, which I would classify as not bad, but not memorable. I legitimately can't remember any food I've eaten here - which means exactly what you think. I recently attended a birthday gathering for my sister at Chicken and Pickle, a restaurant and activity venue located in Grapevine. There were nine guests in total, including my family. I am eager to visit the new location being built in Allen, as I'm interested in seeing how this establishment operates, and attending here was an exciting point to see what to expect. Upon arrival, I noticed the greeters at the door were engaged in laughter and conversation, which left me unsure of where to go next. After navigating through the restaurant and exploring outside, I found a sign indicating the Pickleball check-in area, where I was able to locate our designated courts for playing Pickleball. During our time in the Pickleball area, a waitress approached us, and I ordered an IPA. The courts were excellent, well-designed for active play with nets and ample separation. However, I soon realized that my IPA never arrived. As a tournament commenced, we were asked to leave the Pickleball area and moved to the patio. While I understand the need to accommodate business operations, the transition felt rushed. Once seated on the patio, we waited approximately 10 minutes before a waitress came to inquire if we had been assisted. I informed her that we needed menus and that my IPA was still missing. She assured me she would continue our tab. We proceeded to order food, splitting the bill into two checks for our separate families. The food arrived promptly and was quite delicious, leaving no room for complaint. I ordered a skinny cob salad, as well as Deviled Eggs and Hummus/Pita for appetizers. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Unfortunately, the service deteriorated significantly over the next hour and a half. Our table was cluttered with plates, attracting flies, and the hot weather made us crave drink refills, yet none were offered. Despite our waitress passing by at least three times, she did not acknowledge us. It took 10 minutes to gain someone's attention to pay for our meals. Overall, the subpar service from the waitress overshadowed our experience. While I can overlook the initial greeting mishap, the lack of attentive service is deeply disappointing. Upon leaving, my wife requested to speak with a manager after we finally received our check. The manager attempted to rectify the situation, but ideally, everything should have been handled correctly from the start. Terrible service!!! Do not come here. I thought it would be a great day to go and it turned out horribly. They ran out of fries and pizza, can you imagine that, and the service was terrible from the food court. I asked to get rice since my girls won't eat the other options and it's not our fault that fries are out of stock. The employee said there's a charge, I called for the manager who was rude as hell. She didn't even acknowledge me and just told the employee how to ring it up. The manager didn't apologize or even look at me at any point. The vibe is super chill, the music isn't blasting in your face, and everyone there actually seems like they want to be there -- workers included. The food surprised me too. I got the mac and cheese and it disappeared way too fast. Update October 4th: This note serves as an update regarding our ongoing concerns with the player experience at CnP Grapevine. Following a call on September 29th with the General Manager, I was assured that the atmosphere would improve this week. Unfortunately, this was not the case during our group's booking on Thursday, October 2nd, from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM. The group reported feeling consistently and uncomfortably scrutinized by a manager throughout the evening. This resulted in several participants stating they no longer wish to return. Given this repeated negative experience on back to back weeks, I will be canceling our future court bookings for the next two weeks. We will be moving our group play to the Allen CnP location. My group and I invest a significant amount in court time, food, and drinks, and we expect a positive and welcoming environment in return. Update Sept 29th: I just received a call from the General Manager at CnP at Grapevine. He called and asked me what happened last Thursday. I provided him with the same detail i provided on my review. He apologized for our experience, he listen very patiently and provided an outcome that made me and the guys feel good that we don't have to look for another place to play. The GM said he will send us gift cards for free play based on our booking for this coming week. This was a very nice gesture and it also help alleviate the tension we thought we would feel when we arrive this Thursday if the same manager was there. I spread the word to our PB group chat so the guys are happy that we should not experience the same thing this coming week. We appreciate the GM for reaching out. - I changed the 1 star to 4 star because of the effort they made to make us feel comfortable to come back. On Thursday Sept 25th at 8:00 PM, I arrived to the Grapevine location as normal to check-in with two court reservation (8:30 - 10:30 PM & 9:00 - 11:00 PM). I was greeted with an African American manager along with several employees working at the front desk. I checked in 30 minutes early as I do almost every week since I am a Platinum Pickler and have been booking courts for several months now between Allen and Grapevine. After I checked in, I put my paddle and water bottle on top of the table next to court 9 which is next to the front desk. This time around, I was told by one of the employee who said my manager says "you cannot put your "things" on the table since your court rsvp is not until 8:30" so they asked me to go outside and wait - and order food outside. This is unusual since it has never been an issue with me setting my things down on a table but I do understand this was one of their rules. We took over court 9 after 8:30PM. While I was playing, i noticed 4 guys (non asian) set all of their paddles and things on our table that we reserved (i have no problem with this by the way) BUT the manager did not say anything to them about removing their items while the court is reserved. They stood around our area for 30 minutes until 9PM and nothing was said to them. They reserved court 11. Throughout the night, the same manager was walking around and enforcing rules. We do understand she was trying to do her job but many of the guys told me at the end of the night they felt like she was watching us the whole time and was not friendly at all. All of us that come play, we order drinks and food and spend a decent amount of money there. We have families, grown adults coming to Grapevine on a weekly bases to play PB but last night was the first time we felt uneasy, we felt like we were being watched like a hawk and felt uncomfortable. Playing Pickle ball should be a fun atmosphere but the manager last night made us not want to come back to Grapevine again. In the past several months that we have been playing at CnP, we have NEVER had any issues with the servers, managers and those who work there. They have been friendly and accommodating. Last night was the first very bad experience because of the manager. read more

Came to play pickleball on a weekday evening and we definitely had a ball! This was our first time playing pickleball and we decided to rent an indoor court for an hour. After completing our waivers, a host walked us over to our court. The host asked if he had played before and we told her we had not. She tried explaining the rules to us but she ran through them really fast and none of us were able to fully comprehend her explanation. Luckily the rules are posted by the court so we were able to read them ourselves. I also would have appreciated a quick walk through on how to most effectively hold the paddle. The courts are nicely spaced and it's not too loud in doors. One suggestion I do have would be to put up netting in between the courts. The balls are constantly flying into your court/into other courts which can be disruptive to game play. Overall, I would definitely come back to play pickleball at Chicken N Pickle, but would suggest that first time players do some research/practice before they play here! read more

The best server was Casey (hoped I spelled his name the correct way)! We went with our volleyball girls (it was a team bonding experience). From 9-11 we played pickleball on the outdoor covered courts, giant connect four, battleship, indoor chess, fooseball, and air hockey. We also had buffet style eggs, bacon, gravy, biscuits, and toast! The biscuits were very delicious! Casey was so kind and did a great job keeping the area clean and drinks filled! When we moved to only one court, the service dropped in quality...there were a couple of servers who did not appear to enjoy there jobs and one person who told us they could not get us drinks. By the "us" I mean the three coaches who went as chaperones. It ended on a little bit of a negative note...
