I rarely give a negative review, but I'm pretty grumpy at the moment. I am sitting in my car waiting for my food, so I don't know how it is yet. I'm sure it'll be very tasty, but I'm sure I won't care enough to come back. I fully support safety measures during COVID. My husband is a restaurant manager so it affects us personally that it's acceptable for restaurants to do things differently right now to keep everyone safe. That being said, the way they're handling it this establishment was excessive, not well thought out for their customers, and as a result pretty irritating. You want to check my temperature before I enter? Absolutely. No complaints. Masks required? Of course. Limiting the number of people in the store at once? That also makes perfect sense. However, asking me to wait outside for 20 minutes after coming in and ordering when I'll be dining in, is a bit silly. I wouldn't have gotten too bent out of shape over that either, though. What really just pushed me to the point of never returning was when I was told that we have to take our beverages now, to go hold outside in the cold for 20 minutes. When I expressed that I didn't want a drink until we had a table and food, the man taking our order just shrugged and said sorry but you have to take them now if you're ordering them now. We have a 2 year old that sat in the car for 40 minutes to get here. We wanted to support this business and came a long way to do it. Now we have to wrangle him outside, rather than enjoying nice conversation while he colors or something, meanwhile I'm juggling my drinks. I'm colder and my drink will be warmer due to this nonsense, too. If giving me my drinks when my food is ready would somehow be a safety concern due to COVID or some other reason, I would totally understand. That's unlikely to be the case. I think they just don't want to have to mess with it again. It just didn't work with their little system, so this is just the way it has to be. Even if that's usually the case, if your customer seems bummed...maybe you could try to accommodate? There are ways around just about everything, and my way around being annoyed like this is not coming back here. If this is the way you insist on doing things, you'd be better off doing take out only.
I waited to post until we ate. The food was good, but we probably wouldn't have made the drive back for it even if the rest of it wasn't so annoying. Not really worth writing home about, but good. After all of that nonsense to make it look like they're so COVID careful, though, we were no where near 6 feet from other guests (you can see in the picture how close I am to the man next to me. They also call their sandwiches sliders, but they're definitely full size sandwiches so we way over ordered. What reason is there to call a full size sandwich a slider? I don't care if you call it a mega slider or a super slider. The word slider is synonymously used with smaller than normal sandwiches. The guy at the counter could see it was two adults and a 2 year old and might have suggested it was a lot of food, but he didn't. In fact, he made mention that the sandwiches don't come with fries so we'd need to order that separately if we wanted any. So he wasn't against giving suggestions, just against giving suggestions that would result in us spending less, I guess. It wasn't any one thing with this experience. It was a whole lot of things. They need to go back to the drawing board in quite a few areas of their business model. I feel a little bad leaving a bad review, especially during such difficult times, but I'm pretty bummed we wasted the drive and money on this place, and if you're reading this review your money and time are also valuable so you deserve to hear my experience before you decide to go. read more
