I always find a Chicken Express when I visit TX. This is the first one I was able to hit. Walked in, was greeted by staff member Iyana. She had a great smile & good attitude. I told her what my order was, she got my cup, took my money, & before I could even get my Sweet Tea my food was ready. Food was hot & good (as always). Fried okra is the best you can hope for. Rant on Chicken Express on Kemp. I ordered Chicken Livers and I get home and find Gizzards and miscellaneous over cooked crap in the box. I have been back twice to get my money back and the manager keeps telling me he has to have the GM do it. I asked for the GM name and he refused to give it to me. Stopped on our way out of state. My husband got the 2 piece chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy. I got a catfish fillet & hush puppies and coleslaw. Everything was top notch! My fish was fried on the spot and served crispy and hot out of the fryer. Hush puppies were cooked through. (Even fine restaurants serve those with a gummy, raw center at times!) Coleslaw was fresh and tasty. My husband enjoyed his meal too. My only regret was that I ordered corn on the cob as an extra side. Chicken Xpress is an amazing entity! The family organization that owns most of the franchises in this part of the state of Texas are definitely onto a great business model. They give more product than the customer expects. The product is consistent. The product is delivered to the customer quickly. And talk about sweet tea! Oh my goodness it is syrupy. You may not think that is a good thing, but a lot of us love it. If you like average sweetness with your iced tea I recommend that you get half-and-half they'll be happy to serve that to you and makes it for you. I have a hint for the careful shopper. Show up on any given Tuesday for tender Tuesdays and order one of the family packs Yum Yum baby! They will definitely over perform. read more

As so common with Chicken Express on Southwest Parkway, they always get my order about 75% correct. Tonight I went through the drive through and ordered a three piece fish dinner with fries and mini poppers, extra hush puppies, and a large ice tea for $16.31. When I got my order, I got TWO pieces of fish (NOT three), NO ranch dressing for my poppers although I asked, and NO extra hush puppies. I usually know better than to leave before I check my order but tonight I was in a hurry - my mistake. Just went to Chicken Express on Sw Parkway. The drive thru menu listed 7 Express tenders with gravy for $7.79. At the window the price went up to $9.29. I asked the employee why the difference, she got the manager. He said their prices had gone up and they hadn't had time to change the sign. I told him that was false advertising, he just laughed. It's not the money, less than 2 bucks won't break me. It's about doing the right thing, and something called customer service. read more

Went through the drive thru today. Ordered a 1 piece Express Fish Snack with a side. Drove around and paid. They ask me to pull up. We waited, waited, waited, & waited. Finally I walked in. The young lady at the register ask me what I had ordered. I told her. I saw her walk back and talk to people. I stood there not given one update, response, nothing. Finally walked outside and retrieved my debit card from the car, walked inside, and ask for a refund. The young lady takes the card, walks away, comes back and hands it to me. Not one word again! I ask her for a receipt to show it was credited back to the card. She walks away again. Comes back with a receipt. I told the young lady that when you are in customer service it is okay to apologize and tell the customer that the business is sorry for not meeting expectations. Got the Manager's Special which is leg and thigh(or 2 wings), 1 side(fries, or okra), yeast roll or buttermilk biscuit and very large soda for $3.99. Fries were not as fresh as they should have been. Chicken was adequately seasoned, biscuit typical size. Probably would return. read more

Stopped in yesterday Wichita Falls, Tx. KEMP STREET location.... for 10 pieces of fish.....usually GREAT, but yesterday I got RIPPED off. I normally order the 8 piece fillet, plus a separate order of more pieces to feed 5 adults, so everyone has 2 pieces ......my fillets looked like play food........tiny pieces, not the nice large pieces I usually get. I was charged full price, but got several pieces that were less than 4 inches long ( you can't eat the ends because they were tiny and fried too long ) I live too far away to drive back, so I called and was told to bring receipt back the next day......which I did. I also took pictures of the food and sent my son for pizza, since we were trying to get to a ball game with no time to thaw meat and start cooking a meal. I drove back to town and brought my receipt by ( Kemp Street location ) only to be told that the employee that I spoke to on the phone didn't handle the call right and that I would not get my money back as promised. I have bought fish at Chicken Express on Kemp for years now, but I will NOT ever buy any food at this location again. I am not sure what is going on with Chicken Express, but the employees/manager should have recognized that the tiny pieces of fish were not up to standards and done something.........really unhappy and disappointed that RIPPING OFF people is ok at this location in Wichita Falls, Tx. read more
