I'm a huge fan of the Chicken Box! I have been eating between their old location on MLK Blvd (until lost to a flood) and here at this location for 39 years. First off, two words, DIPPED CHICKEN!! You are not doing this chicken right if you don't get it "dipped". A super tasty spicy juicy sauce. It goes perfect on the chicken and just as tasty on the Livers & Gizards. If you don't get it dipped, the flaky crust breading is still delicious! The other bonus ... their menu here features some popular Korean dishes too. You can get Beef Bulgogi, Chicken Bulgogi, and Pork Bulgogi. Their Pork Bulgogi being my favorite! They all come as a plate with Vegetable Fried Rice or Steamed White Rice, along with two Yakimandu. You can't go wrong with one (or two if extra hungry) of these Bulgogi plates. Service is always spot on and fairly quick. There's an occasional minor hold up, but it's only because there doing it up fresh. The atmosphere is a bit of an old building, but she keeps it clean inside. Landlord won't do any updates. It's good!!! I lived in Korea for a year and we called their fried chicken "Crack Chicken" because you couldn't stop eating it. This is as close as I've seen since I moved back to the states. Best fried chicken in town. Can't wait to try their bulgogi next! read more

The counter lady is nice and friendly. We ordered (1) chicken wings smothered in hot sauce - next time the sauce should be on the side because sauce over the chicken affects the crispiness; )2) spicy pork bulgogi was excellent - tender and not saucy. Will order this again. It comes with rice and 2 fried wontons (good); and (3) fried liver, had a bite and this is just bad, it's very dry and it tastes like whatever they don't sell a day or two is rotated the next day. Will not order this again. Fried liver from Chicken Express is way better. read more

Went under new management. The last owner was great! The new one cook tasteless chicken with no seasoning & the wait is always long even when calling in. The chicken combo come with a can soda, no bread or pepper for almost $8. read more

This is officially our new favorite go to chicken spot. Best tasting chicken I've ever had. Flavored very well, and cooked perfectly. Lady at the counter was very polite, patient and helpful with our order as we figured out what to try. Their shrimps were great sized and breaded very well. Fish was fries perfectly,with large fillets and nuce flakey white fish. Potatoe salad was amazing and seasoned to perfection. Rolls were beyond soft and a great side to the chicken. What a total surprise!!! Fantastic choices of great tasting food! Of course the chicken tastes delicious but, the authentic tasting Korean barbecue and side dishes are as good as anything you'll find in Seoul. Worth the 2 hour drive from Dallas just to have lunch in Wichita Falls. read more

This used to be a good resturant with good food and service, but then owners changes and it just downgraded.

The best spicy fried chicken in the city. You have to try the BULGOGI and fried rice, the best Korean food around.

Stopped there this noon and had the 3 pc mixed which includes a roll for $5.29 which includes tax. The coating was extra crispy and the size of the pieces average. They also offer tenders, livers, gizzards and chicken fried steak. Drinks are in cans or bottles. New owners for a month. Off street parking and opens at 10:30am. Ordered a 3-piece with mash potatoes and cabbage. Started off that they didn't have cabbage which is fine. The mash potatoes were the worst I have ever had. I mean how hard is it to make mashed potatoes (boil potatoes, drain the water, add butter and milk and mash???). Now the chicken. I got two wings and a breast. The wings were extremely small and were the size of a pheasant. The breast was actually a whole breast (very small chicken?) cut in half. The taste of the chicken was OK. Nothing to write home about. Overall, not a great experience for $9. read more

Good home style fried chicken. Great flavor, large choice of sides; everything from fries to okra, baked beans to cooked cabbage. I had the cooked cabbage and it was delicious!! I couldn't decide between giving Chicken Box 3 or 4 stars because they were out of green beans (at lunch time), only had 4 out of 7 drinks available on their soft drink machine, and their tea dispenser had an Out of Order sign on it. I don't know if it was actually not working or if they just didn't want to mess with making tea, so drink choice was limited. My husband is diabetic, so that was kind of a big deal for us, no Diet Coke or unsweet tea. They do have canned and bottle drinks available, tho. Overall appearance of the place is pretty clean, our table looked clean but felt as though it needed wiped down, I'm not a clean freak or a germaphobic, but I made sure nothing I was going to eat, fell on the table first. I'm sure we'll be back, maybe carry out, but the food we had definitely is 5 stars worthy, but they need to tidy things up and get their drink machines fully stocked. This place is pretty amazing when it comes to Fresh and Juicy. I personally love their chicken tenders, and Deep fried chicken gizzard and liver. Their prices are cheap plus they make their own sauce with a vinegar jalapeño twist. read more

Thoroughly unimpressed. I tried the chicken tenders w/gravy, liver gizzards and some hush puppies. The tenders were fresh and moist, but way underdone. I was hoping the jalapeno gravy would help make it tasty, but it was totally bland. The gizzards wernt any better and the puppies were premade. There are so many other joints in town who take pride in their product... these guys have been around awhile and rely on their long term fan base. read more

Place is typical hole in the wall...and that isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's a chicken joint. Relatively clean and friendly, the hot wings weren't very hot, or memorable. The livers on the other hand were delectable, the best I've had in a really long time, I enjoyed the jalapeno hot sauce with them...had me sniffling in no time. I really enjoyed the livers, did I mention that? Price was very reasonable too. I might have given it four stars, but the winds brought the overall score down. read more

Omg AMAZING!! The new owner of the store is always friendly and always has a smile on his face. Love the honestly meals there. They are cheap and get ALOT of food for the cheap price. We ALWAYS go after the dipped gizzards and let me tell you they always be on point. Also love how the owner has started selling merchandise for his business. Love the idea and designs. I can't without good faith continue to eat here. The health practice are flagrant and disgusting. Been eating at chicken box for 12 years. Under 4 different owners. To locations. The cross contamination would have this place shut down in a second in the big city. Organic matter floating in the dip. Battering raw foods next to cooked food. Never changing gloves when moving from one station to other. It's sad and appalling read more
