Rude counter staff. Needs a lesson in customer service. I walked in and a man sitting in front of the register never looked up from his phone and said, "dine in or carry out" I said carry out and he said ," it will be a minute" as he continued to type and scroll through his phone. I stood there a while thinking maybe someone else is going to take my order, as I watch him take photos of baseball or other sports cards and look them up on his phone. There is definitely no customer service here, but I'm assuming he doesn't care. As I drove off I thought to myself "why did I leave a tip?" Calling in and picking up with their convenient drive thru window is great because they have it ready in 15 minutes or less! The orange chicken, curry chicken, fried tofu... so good! The hot and sour sound had one of the most deepest level of flavors I've had in a while and we can't get enough! Family trip - We are from Houston and on our way to Amarillo. Stopped by Wichita Falls for lunch - didn't expect much when searched Taiwanese Food on Yelp. Asian Kitchen popped up. Very skeptical at first since the menu shouts American Chinese food but since we are hungry we went in and gave it a try. Boy we were in luck! The owner lady had the TV on and immediately "jackpot" in my head since the show is Taiwanese, meaning the owner is definitely Taiwanese so the food can't be that bad (We moved from Taiwan 6 years ago and still crave for Taiwanese food wherever we go). I immediately started chatting with her and the conversation never stopped. She must have been in the restaurant business in the US for 30+ years and she is from the same town within Taipei as I am (Shipai). Crazy coincidence. So we sat down and asked her if she can cook something Taiwanese for us, off menu. She said sure and asked us what we felt like eating. My wife always eats soup noodle so asked her to cook something light. My sons like pot stickers so we got those too. She also recommended Taiwanese rice noodles so we got that as well. The soup noodle came and my wife was literally in tears of joy after one bite. She cannot recall having such authentic Taiwanese food outside of Taiwan. Remember we live in Houston and have been in larger cities like Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta...etc. LA probably came the closest. The pot stickers were sensational as well - my sons (5 yrs old and 7 yrs old) were in a funk where they haven't had good appetite for a stretch, probably due to heat, but today they were eating nonstop, both the pot stickers and the fried rice noodles. The fried rice noodles are the thicker version and very flavorful. Later on we found out that the chef is actually Mexican but worked with the lady for over 25 years in another restaurant she owned. She invited him to come out so we can thank him in person. I am on the road 60% of the time due to work so I have had many Taiwanese restaurants in the US, good and bad. This is definitely my top 3 under the circumstances. You have to ask her to cook some off menu authentic Taiwanese dishes. This is my first review on Yelp - I just had to write it down so more people can enjoy her hospitality and fantastic food. read more

Hidden gem! Drove through Wichita Falls over the holiday weekend and wanted some Asian food. I lucked out that many places were closed so ended up at Asian Kitchen. This place is fairly small (seating limited) yet clean. The menu is standard but the food really stands out, I was pleasantly surprised. The food leans toward Taiwanese style, everything is made to order and delicious!! The basics like noodles and fried rice were tasty and stood out on their own, rather than an after thought. I also had the Kung pao chicken which was the right amount of spice. Really hit the spot!! I can't say enough about the wonderful lady who runs this joint - she is kind and accommodating. I can tell she is proud of her little cafe. I hope the locals will take the time to try it out. read more

The sauce for the hot and sour chicken was not spicy at all though. Only ever had one issue with bad food and they fixed it immediately! The only thing I will say is I don't care for their fried rice so I always get the white rice. This place is a hidden gem! We were traveling through and were looking for a GREAT place to stop for lunch. After reading a FANTASTIC review we decided to stop. The restaurant is owned by a Taiwanese couple and upon reading their menu, it appeared to be only American Chinese food but we were surprised to find out that you are able to order items NOT on the menu. Having been to Taiwan many times and loving the food there, we asked if they could make Taiwanese beef noodle and they did! It was very authentic and SO delicious! It was every bit as good as one you would get on the streets of Taiwan. Their bee hoon was also excellent! The owners came out to talk with us and we're so hospitable. Wow! Totally spontaneous lunch today with a coworker. I ordered the Hot and Sour Soup with Hunan Beef. The soup is probably hands down best hot and sour I have had in this town and the Pacific Northwest! The Hunan Beef was perfectly spicy with succulent broccoli, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots. I was skeptical before when I first saw the sign with the name, but after learning this is operated by an existing restaurant family in town I already had respect for, this is now my "go to" American-Chinese style food restaurant. Please stop on by when they are open between 11am and 8pm and check them out! They also have a couple tables set up inside to dine in. Their lunch specials run around $6-$8 a piece! read more
