The restaurant is casual and very clean. They serve the chicken piping hot. If u eat inshore, you usually have to wait a little to eat the chicken. I hate to be this person, but this experience was rough, really rough! Although it plays into the stereotype, I do love Chicken Express as a business. Before the pre diabetes kicked in I'd drink their tea...the sweetest concoction that's braced my lips. Nowadays I enjoy their spicy tenders and yeast rolls...in moderation. This go around called for a quick drive thru visit, and started out fine. I love that we had the option of a drink or second side with our meal. Although unseasoned I love that they offer corn on the cob. I season mine at home. Unfortunately, this location is oddly inefficient. Friendly...but inefficient. We were told that the biz ran out of spicy chicken strips. They quoted us a 6 minute wait...which was fine. However, from there we waited, and waited, and waited, alongside 2 others. The associate who took our order went on break, occupying the car besides us.The gentleman behind us in line received his order about 5 minutes before we did, and after about 15 minutes our chicken arrived. The 3rd car waiting (the one that was there waiting for their order when we took ours) was not as lucky, they were still waiting for their order when we left. We came home to find my fiancés mashed potatoes missing, and incredibly old fries. I always appreciate fresh chicken, so thank you so much for that, but for fast food, there's certainly room for improvement with this establishment. While my fiance refuses to go back, I'm more than willing to return. Went today , very disappointed that I was given tenders that were in a holding pan. They were not busy but had 30 or so tenders "holding " under a heat lamp ". My husband had gizzards which were freshly cooked . Is it standard to ask for freshly cooked ? because I will not be back otherwise. This is the 2nd time that I have gone to the Tomball Chicken Express location and received chicken tenders that were so old and so hard that I could not bite into them. I called and spoke with Lacy the manager and her response was that she personally dropped 30 tenders at the time I was there. I'm wondering why none of those 30 fresh cooked tenders made it in to my box. I also ordered corn nuggets and asked for a side of Ranch. The employee stood in front of me and said she personally put the Ranch in the box. When I got home, there was no Ranch in the box. I will be calling the Health Department for the overcooked and cold tenders that they decided to pass off as fresh cooked tenders. This is totally unacceptable.
