Like the number 4 which comes with 2 chicken breasts and a side and a drink or 2 sides. That way my husband can have one of the chicken breasts. The yeast rolls are really good. I also like the serendipity salt which is great to put on the chicken or flat Italian green beans. Sometimes you have to ask for the packets of serendipity salt. The restaurant is casual and very clean. They serve the chicken piping hot. If u eat inshore, you usually have to wait a little to eat the chicken. The batter they use on the chicken makes a wonderfully crunchy crust. Oh, And they have the soft ice that's great to chew. read more

I hate to be this person, but this experience was rough, really rough! Although it plays into the stereotype, I do love Chicken Express as a business. Before the pre diabetes kicked in I'd drink their tea...the sweetest concoction that's braced my lips. Nowadays I enjoy their spicy tenders and yeast rolls...in moderation. This go around called for a quick drive thru visit, and started out fine. I love that we had the option of a drink or second side with our meal. Although unseasoned I love that they offer corn on the cob. I season mine at home. Unfortunately, this location is oddly inefficient. Friendly...but inefficient. We were told that the biz ran out of spicy chicken strips. They quoted us a 6 minute wait...which was fine. However, from there we waited, and waited, and waited, alongside 2 others. The associate who took our order went on break, occupying the car besides us.The gentleman behind us in line received his order about 5 minutes before we did, and after about 15 minutes our chicken arrived. The 3rd car waiting (the one that was there waiting for their order when we took ours) was not as lucky, they were still waiting for their order when we left. We came home to find my fiancés mashed potatoes missing, and incredibly old fries. I always appreciate fresh chicken, so thank you so much for that, but for fast food, there's certainly room for improvement with this establishment. While my fiance refuses to go back, I'm more than willing to return. I'll chalk it up to a rough night or a tough hiring season' and I look forward to improvement-(chicken) fingers crossed! read more

Went today , very disappointed that I was given tenders that were in a holding pan. They were not busy but had 30 or so tenders "holding " under a heat lamp ". My husband had gizzards which were freshly cooked . Is it standard to ask for freshly cooked ? because I will not be back otherwise. Also floor needed to be swept and a good general cleaning needs to happen daily! read more

I have never been disappointed in Chicken Express and doubt I ever will. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, and a roll will never get old. The menu is expansive even though I've only tried a handful of items but all have been great. read more

I love me some Chicken E!! This location is exceptionally clean and has a very friendly staff. Now the chicken: I always get their tenders- they are juicy and perfectly fried! For the sides, get the fried okra and corn nuggets - YUM! If you have a hankering for some chicken, stop here! read more

Staff was friendly and the restaurant was very clean. The food tasted fresh and tea was amazing. My only complaint was the food was not hot. When we walked in (5:30) they had a ton of chicken under the heat lamp, we assume was made in advance of the dinner rush. Fries, mashed potato's and chicken was warm at best, some of it just room temp. read more

I drive one hour every Friday to go to the Chicken Express because not only are they so accommodating they provide me with fabulous delicious crispy, melting in your mouth food. The people that talk bad about this place are literally pieces of SHIT they should not be coming to a place where there's serving thousands of people. These people are dealing with horrendous people there's beautiful people working here trying to get their fucking job done and go along their day and y'all are pressing them with bad reviews for what please God sake be kind. This place is amazing. I love you. read more

Why did I give this place another try??? Hands down - they have the worst customer service ever!!!! 40 minutes in the drive thru for 4 chicken tenders? Outrageous!!! Poor customer service ever!! And you did not included my seasoning packets after I asked you twice! ****** Worst ever! After spending $43 on chicken, we got home with an incomplete order and food that wasn't hot. I called because they forgot some of the sides and was told I could come back and pick them up tonight or they would give them to me next time. Ok fine - but since this is the second inconvenience from this place, I'd just rather not come. The only thing that kept us from returning the entire order for a refund is the fact we just didn't feel like spending 30 minutes plus going back and forth, and having to order ktber read more

Chicken has a great flavor but the sides are terrible. Also the DP is flat. Mashed potatoes are dry. Taste like bad instant mash. Green beans are stringy so half the time you have to spit out strings. They can do much better. read more

My favorite place for chicken around my area. I get the 3 piece box with a leg and 2 breasts and my wife likes the catfish box. They also have the best chicken gizzards around fried fresh when you order. MMM now I'm hungry! I forgot to mention how great the staff is and how clean they keep the restaurant! read more

This is the best fried chicken! Batter is just perfect - chicken is well seasoned and tender and juicy. Yum! Be sure to go hungry and add rolls and sweet tea. I like their mashed potatoes and green beans. Home style - just good food. My hubby's a big fan of the gizzards too. Kinda like country calamari. That chicken and those rolls - good night - so good! read more

I'm torn about Chicken Express! FOOD - THE GOOD: ~ Their food is tasty (when it's hot)! ~ Good variety of chicken options and sides ~ 32 oz. drink with a combo ($0.44 for upscale to 44 oz!) - I think I got that right ~ Love the spicy tenders! (regular also available) FOOD - THE BAD: ~ Awful when it's cold ~ 33% of the time, something is cold (or not fresh) ~ I think they fry in lard - it hardens when it's cold - probably SO unhealthy! EMPLOYEES - THE GOOD: ~ ummmm EMPLOYEES - THE BAD: ~ Employees don't seem to hustle. You may be waiting a while (20 minutes in the drive-thru line for me TODAY). ~ Confused - 33% of the time, they get something wrong on my order ~ Bad attitudes. They get it wrong, then they don't apologize, but rather look annoyed at YOU for not just accepting their error. DINING ROOM - THE GOOD ~ Never too crowded ~ Benches or tables ~ Clean 'enough' DINING ROOM - THE BAD ~ Clean tables are not their priority Bottom line = The food is great when it is right and warm, however, due to the lack of a 'service-minded' attitude, this location will probably lose clientele to a new chicken tender chain that just opened up a few spots down, and is "Raising" the bar with service (even if their chicken doesn't taste as good). read more

Terrible, terrible. This line was crazy long and super busy so I thought it was going to be really delicious but the food was cold, not fresh and not worth the price. I was so excited to come here one of my friends told me to try it I ordered the 2 piece with a roll, drink and corn nuggets for about $8! The chicken was hard and not fresh, roll was stale, corn nuggets were delicious but cold. As my first experience I'm highly disappointed and not sure if I'll return. read more

Mashed potatoes are literally a cup of gravy, and way too salty. The bread too dry and the chicken is ok, just a little greasy. Ill give it a 2 star for the sweet tea they at least know how to make instead of 1. read more

Don't ever waist your time coming to this location. They are out of spicy chicken, their biscuits and rolls, as well as corn nuggets and okra! They don't serve much of anything else and can't even keep inventory of what's on their menu! At this point they should just shut down or at least not advertise items they don't have! They have a huge sign out front they should probably display what they can serve you because then menu is false advertising! My boyfriend was straight up told "we can make you an order but it won't be a full order because we don't have anything.". read more

Let me start this off with this: even though I am rating three stars, I'm still going to be coming back here when that chicken e craving hits. This is a new location so I'm trying to stay as open minded as possible, but is there anyway the team at this chicken e and the one in Magnolia can meet up and exchange tricks of the trade?? The chicken is amazing. The gravy is on point. But the fried pickles are severely lacking. The delicious batter crumbles off before I can even dip them in gravy. And there is something different about the batter. Not bad different, not good different, just different. Mac n cheese could use a little something something. Rolls are amazing. Will definitely come back. But please, work out the kinks with the pickles? read more

Took us 30 minutes to get our food. Four cars were made to park while we all waited in the drive thru. When they finally came out with the food they had to ask what car had what meal. As we are parked with our windows down we can hear them talk about shutting down and cleaning up early so they can get home. read more

This place is so dirty. Arrived an hour after they opened. Hard to find a table that didn't have yesterday's food and grease on it. Flooded floor by the soda machine. Bathroom was horrendous. Pee droplets on the toilet seat. Yellow/brown substance on the toilet paper roll. The last 3 times I've been here, it has been filthy. This is absolutely the last time I will eat at this location. read more

This location has steadily gone down hill in the past few months. You can expect to be there for at least 15 minutes using the drive thru. The rolls will be over cooked. Your order will be wrong. The food and drinks will arrive to you a mess. And don't bother making a complaint. Management does not care and will not respond. Also if you watch through the window half of the employees are not wearing masks as they breathe all over your food. read more

I'm only commenting on the service and the price increase on their tea. The service here has gone down significantly over the few years since this location has opened. Today I waited in line for 20 min for a drink. Maybe that's my bad cause I should have gotten out of line but I didn't, only to find out the price of the tea has increased from.97 to 1.50. Again, I shouldn't have... I wouldn't mind if my cup had more tea and less ice but when it's filled entirely of ice I feel pretty fucked... of my time and my 1.50 read more

Wanted to try this chain because a friend native to TX recommend it. They were really nice when I came up to the window! They even gave my foster dog a treat! The food seemed made to order because it came out very hot which was great because I got lost in the way home. My food was still warm 30 min later when I finally found my house again. I liked my chicken, corn on the cob & biscuit! I would go there again if in the area. read more
