Really good wings and fries. Salad bar looked good too with a lot of items to choose from. If cleanliness is important to you, this place will turn you around and make you head for the door. Whatever you do, don't look at the neon signs above the ordering counter. The only word to describe them is 'disgusting' (and the other sign in the dining area). Never seen something that filthy in a restaurant before. If they've missed something like that which is blatantly obvious that it's filthy, makes me wonder what else they've decided is acceptable. The salad bar and food was tasty, although the actions of the employees behind the front counter had me wishing we went somewhere else. Two female employees were behind the counter by the salad bar eating fries and drinking beverages (which i believe is against Oregon health code), one of these ladies, a vulgar dirty-blonde, was snacking on her fries and talking with her mouth full for a majority of the time of our visit... quit unappetizing. Absolutely ridiculous. I understand we're in a pandemic, businesses were hit hard, labor force is short...but come on! I called and the first word I heard was "hold!" Okay...they must be busy. I made a simple, easy order over the phone. She said it would take 30 minutes. I arrived about 40 minutes after ordering to give it a little room for being busy. After waiting in line for a long time I finally paid for my order. I then had to wait another 30 minutes...even watched the person behind me pick up her order before me! What?! How did 30 minutes go to one hour? To top it off by the time I got home the food tasted old. I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed I am with this place. Yes, that's right, we like our Bonz. My husband is pretty picky about wings and he always wants to eat here. (Get the Hot.) I get the combo of salad bar + chicken because just eating chicken, fries, and dipping sauce doesn't sit well with me. Our kids like all the food, including the Bonzless (breaded chicken tenders). I had a burger once and it was OK. Order an adult meal and get a kids meal free -- but it's a tiny kids meal, only enough food for a child about 7 years old or younger. I can see why some people wouldn't like this place. It's in a strip mall, it's not ultra clean, it's not sophisticated, and it's not gourmet or health food. But it is decent comfort food in decent portions at good prices. It's a place to take the family and just relax in a super casual atmosphere. Way better than fast food for not much more money, and more fun. And where else can you get a Bud Light for $1, pinball, Ducks on the big screen, and a free Dum Dum for dessert? What's not to love? This place kind of seems like a hole in the wall but the employees are ALWAYS nice and the food is always good and consistent. When I first started going here I was just getting boneless wings, basically the chicken strips, with fries. They're good. The chicken is always right out of the fryer and super hot. The fries are thin and crispy but not too crispy, also always warm. I recently started doing the salad bar. I like it a lot and you get a decent amount of options to put on your salad. I think their price is a tad high for what you get ($5 for one time through) but they give you a big enough container to where you can pack a lot in there. Today when I went for lunch I was more hungry than usual so I knew I wasn't going to get a salad and I didn't feel like chicken. So I decided to try one of what they claim to be "the best burgers in town." I added cheese and bacon to it and just got the 1/4 pound. You wouldn't think that a place that specializes in chicken would normally have burgers but this burger really was good. It comes on texas toast which I actually enjoyed more than a burger bun because it seemed like less bread and it went with the burger soooo nicely. It was warm and toasted. I added sauce to mine (their fry sauce which is HEAVEN and ketchup) because it comes dry. I ate the whole thing in what seemed like 5 minutes, I just couldn't put it down! I'm not a fan of hot wings or even chicken wings period. I do however like boneless chicken strips and the like and that's what I get whenever I go to Chicken Bonz. The few times I've been there they have been hot and fresh, same with the fries. I can honestly do without the sauces but the couple I've tried have been good, though nothing exceptional. It remains one of the several places I frequent when I'm in Springfield and is likely to remain so. My kids love Chicken Bonz but if you ever ate wings anywhere on the east coast or midwest, you would know Chicken Bonz not very good. The chicken tastes a bit salty and dry. Sure you can dip the chicken in one of the 8-10 sauces they offer, but it's just hiding the dry and salty taste of the chicken. The wings are the same. What a fun place! The "Bonz" are really good. They are breaded then fried. I can go either way with my chicken wings, breaded or not, but the hubby likes them this way. They are so good. We got half "Hot" and the other half "Damn Hot". The Damn Hot flavor is not over powering and still really flavorful. Was kindof hoping the Boneless Wings were smaller. I don't know what people like that "Mike R." guy are talking about. . . Chicken bonz is awesome, it continues to be one of my favorite places to eat. I don't go here often, because fried food isn't that great for you. But when I do I am continually greeted with a smile, the employees remember me and my friends, always say hi to the kids, and are very pleasant. I think "Mike R." is mistaken.. Chicken bonz isn't like Buffalo Wild Wings. You dont get seated at a table, and waited on. You order your food, pay, and wait for it to be delivered. Just like you would any other fast food restaurant. I have never had anyone at taco bell come by to refill my drinks or ask if i needed more of anything. The first indication of that should have been paying for your food immediately, and not waiting for a check or a waitress to order your food for you. Food is always great, definitely good quality stuff. They have the best boneless wings and fries around. Atmosphere is pretty cool too. Wow! This place really was great! We stopped at the shopping center and all the signs caught my husband's eye. Not going to lie I really was not wanting to try it but so HAPPY he insisted! I love wings so it was a given that we bought 3 all you can eat wings. Sad to say, I was terribly disappointed. I first ordered my favorite, lemon pepper and this was the worst of the 4 I tried. This is my favorite place to get wings. Kind of hidden in a strip of shops but the food is great! I enjoy the crispy coat on both their bone-in (bonz) and boneless (bonzless). We come here maybe a couple times a year and food is always very good. The reason I have rated it 3 stars is the cleanliness of the restaurant when visiting yesterday. The walls are dirty and need a new paint coat desperately. The paper towel holders on the table were grimey and dirty also. It made me a little nervous eating there. Hard to beat Chicken Bonz for wings in Springfield. Way better than Buffalo Wild Wings up by the mall. Better food and I like that they are local and have helped the local schools out with donations, fundraiser cards, etc. I like the Bonzless. Very fresh and the batter is excellent. As a wings lover, nothing can beat this place!!! As for the rest of the food, I can't say, because it's not even worth trying when all you can eat wings exists.
