Fast food chicken restaurants with the best salad. The big franchises or the independent locals? Who has it, the best? The competitors I selected are as follows: Slim Chickens, Chick-fil A, Waldo's, Zaxby's, Red Light Chicken, Chicken and the Wolf, and Charlies Chicken. Although Chicken and the Wolf has one of the best chicken sandwiches in Tulsa they don't compete well with the other chicken joints for a salad. The chicken was good the salad was fair. Unusual in that fact that it also had Cole slaw mixed in with the greens. The lemon buttermilk dressing was thin, so it ran to the bottom of the box. And that is what I disliked the most. The Box. Having to eat a salad out of a cardboard box. I gave them a try. Stick to the sandwiches.

Tried the OG chicken sandwich yesterday in medium spice. Happy that I chose the correct spice level! This sandwich was a banger! I recommend getting this with the comeback sauce on the side and drizzle on top of the chicken as you wish. Their regular fries were also fantastic - super crunchy with the perfect seasoning. Go ahead and dip the fries in the comeback sauce as well. I will be back!

One of our very favorite spots in Tulsa! The cheese fries are similar to Shake Shack (iykyk) and the spice on the chicken is soo good!

This is a nice place - I think I tried the wrong options.... Restaurant - nice, trendy (enjoyed the fireplace) Parking - not a ton and not as efficient Menu - several options (including vegan) Staff - friendly, knowledgable, helpful Ambiance - overall good experience (timeliness, cleanliness, and quality food) Restaurant is clean and trendy with outside covered patio seating and indoor seating options. Although I should be reviewing the vegan options - the restaurant uses a soy patty so the vegan options will not be included in the review. The chicken sandwich was ordered with no sauce and slaw on the side (only the pickle was on the sandwich). The chicken was bland but that may be due to the options ordered. Standard chicken sandwich - nothing special or unique. The pickle was dill with seasoning - maybe soaked in it (didn't particularly enjoy it so removed it). The slaw added some umph but not enough to make a huge difference. Just not very juicy or moist or flavorful. Not bad at all...

Always great food and service!! If you haven't tried Chicken and the Wolf, why not? It's a great place with a good vibe.

Chicken and the Wolf is a food stall in the Mother Road Food Hall on Route 66. The hall has plenty of food choices and this is the only one with a appreciable line. The main event, is not surprisingly, fried chicken sandwiches. These are the popular Nashville Hot Chicken style. You pick the heat. It was well executed and on par with other such places i have been too. Surprisingly, they have full vegan options. Which was great for my vegetarian friend. Food was ordered at the counter and took about 10 minutes to get the food. If you're looking for Nashville Hot Chicken, this is your spot.

This chicken has to be one of the best and juiciest in Tulsa! Be warned that as someone who likes spice and can tolerate a lot, even extra mild is hot! The food is always delicious, the ambiance is really cool and vibrant, and the service is super quick! When we bring our puppy, they always bring her water and are so nice. If you like chicken, this is the place to go!

If you're craving a juicy, tender bite of deliciousness, you must try Chicken & the Wolf chicken tenders! Whether you order the tenders meal, tenders sandwich, or tenders salad, it's always Yum! *They also have vegan options...We had out-of-state, friends visiting and wanted to share a Taste of Tulsa's hot chicken before they returned home. Everyone ordered the chicken tenders meal with their preferred spice level - no heat to XHot, with fries, a side of homemade pickles, and a beverage! As always, the food was delicious and we had a great time sitting on the patio! 5* #Don'tBeAChicken #EatLikeAWolf

    Vegan fries with a spicy-mayo-like sauce ~$10

Like a 5 min wait at 5pm at Mother Road Market on a Friday. Wasn't too noisy inside, and conversation w I got the vegan fries with a medium spicy level, should've gotten hot. The cashier scared me into getting medium, which wasn't super spicy (Asian taste buds here hehe). If you can tolerate spicy well, get hot. Anyway, the food was tasty. The vegan chicken tasted like very firm tofu seasoned like chicken and spicy powder on the breading. It was interesting and good. The fries were good, and thankfully I asked for my spicy sauce on the side (forgot what it's called, but it's kind of a combo of cane's sauce and spicy mayo imo). Overall would eat here again with friends.

Before it was a small walk in with only a few patio tables outside, in and out, take it to go. Now, it's a full on experience. The staff was really nice. The food quality was excellent, and the staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. One of the most unique parts of the visit was learning that the person seated at the table next to us was the previous owner. She is still a regular customer, and her photo is proudly displayed on the wall in the restaurant. That says a lot about the history, loyalty, and character of this place. I also accidentally left my credit card behind and did not realize it until about an hour and a half later. I called the restaurant, and the management immediately helped resolve the issue. They kindly arranged to mail it to my home in Los Angeles, and I have now received it safely. That level of honesty and customer care is rare. A special thank you to the management for handling everything so professionally, and to Heather for her kindness, attentiveness, and outstanding service. Highly recommend this spot for great breakfast, quality food, welcoming atmosphere, and a team that truly cares about its customers.

We had a reservation, arrived on time, and were told our table wasn't ready. It was a beautiful evening and we weren't in a rush, so no issue there. When an outdoor table opened up, we waited for it to be cleared. My husband went back inside to let the hostesses know we'd be sitting outside instead, and they said that was fine. I had actually tried to reserve an outdoor table earlier and was told they were first-come, first-served, so this seemed perfectly reasonable. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill. A waitress came out and told us we couldn't sit there. We explained the situation, and she became visibly irritated and went inside. Another staff member came out and insisted we hadn't checked in at the hostess stand. When I explained again that we had, she repeatedly implied we were lying, even stating she had been at the stand. Both my husband and I had spoken to the hostesses, so this was confusing and frankly inappropriate. I firmly offered to go inside to clear it up with the hostesses, but she continued to question our honesty. At that point, my husband asked her to be nice, and she walked away. Meanwhile, the guests at the table next to us commented on how poorly we were being treated, which validated how strange the situation felt. We befriended them and talked and laughed while we waited. 20 minutes - no menus or drinks. My husband went inside and asked for a manager. 30 minutes - nothing. 40 minutes - still nothing. When I asked a server, she told me the manager was the same person I had "yelled at" (which was actually kind of humorous because though I was firm, I did not yell). She then told us the only other option was to speak to the owner, adding that he would likely just ask us to leave. At that point, we called a friend who is a well-known and respected local chef. He said this experience didn't surprise him and described ongoing issues with the owner/chef at Stonehorse. He stated, "He's a talented chef, but has horrible management and customer service skills." Interestingly, the regulars sitting next to us said the same. What's most telling is that we tried this restaurant a few months ago and left before being seated because the atmosphere felt negative. No one was smiling, and the energy was off. After tonight, it makes sense. It's unfortunate, because the location is great and the food may be as well, but leadership sets the tone, and it shows. This was hands down the worst dining experience we've had, and I would strongly caution others before going.

Chicken noodle, chilie verde (mostly meat not really a soup) clam chowder and lobster bisque are our favorites. Back in the day the lobster bisque used to have chunks of lobster in it. Not sure if we got a random one without meat or if they stopped putting in lumps of meat but we were disappointed in that. Flavor was still on point but without the lobster it's just not as good.
