I worked in fast food as a teen and young adult, so I know firsthand that when people do this, it actually sucks. The reason I come at this time is solely because it is the only one on my way home and leaving my obligations at 9pm, it is when I am able to make it there. [now that the back story is out of the way..] I have never had anything less than excellent service and excellent food here. I'm not going to lie, as long as the food was cooked recently, it's kind of hard to ruin the food they serve. We all know that service is the main factor in these reviews. (Or at least it is to me.) It has to frustrate their employees when I come in a half hour from close, the only car in the drive thru- but you wouldn't know it. They are as friendly as ever. On a completely separate occasion, and I was using a popular coupon that the company put out on Facebook. When arriving it was like 6:30pm, so definitely a dinner rush time anyway- even if they weren't running a promotion. I saw the line, and was prepared to wait. Que sera sera. It's not the end of the world and I had. A craving only Zaxby's could fulfill. When I tell you that the service I received at the window was shocking, I'm not lying. I fully expected, and empathized, with the fact that I would likely encounter a stressed, frustrated, and possibly abrupt employee at the window. I wasn't even going to fault them for it- it was insanely busy for them. When I arrived at the window, however, I encountered an employee with a smile on her face, even a laugh in her voice. She was cheerful and prepared. She was being productive while still having an amazing attitude. I was IMPRESSED and shocked. AWESOME job, Zaxby's!

I ended up waiting over ten minutes for my food while plenty of other customers who came in after me ordered and got their food in a couple of minutes. I don't know what was taking so long for my order, but I was getting impatient. Maybe it was the grilled onions. That's usually the excuse for why an order is taking longer to prepare, but I don't know. When I got my food everything tasted great as always but not long afterwards on the drive to Salt Lake City I started feeling ill. I had an upset stomach that started to hurt a little and when I got to my hotel I had to lay down for a while. Fortunately things didn't get any worse but I couldn't eat anything for the rest of the day and just had small amounts of water.
