I have yet to get an order that is remotely close to what I requested and paid for. The wait time here is beyond ridiculous and after waiting more than 20 minutes because they didn't have enough chicken or the right pieces of chicken available they simply throw whatever they have in a box and send it out. I have pointed the problem out in person and on the phone after getting but home with an order that didn't come close to what I purchased after being reassured my order was double checked before handing it over to me - the receipt has been correct but does match what they deliver. I can't blame it completely on this location because I have experienced the same problems at the 5 locations that I frequent depending on the direction I 'm traveling from. I can't believe someone at the top doesn't recognize the failures and put in a fix - poor training and poor management across the board, this ain't cheap chicken and while I'm at it - bring back the red beans and rice and jalapeños, geez this is Louisiana Chicken, it's getting harder and harder to return here, feels like they need some real competition...

Dinner plans the other night started the way many great family evenings do--complete confusion and…read moremild hunger-induced panic. We had company over, and the original plan was our classic "let's see what's hiding in the freezer and pretend it was intentional" dinner strategy. Unfortunately, reality set in. My wife was exhausted, and I have to admit something publicly: I'm only a competent cook under two conditions--ample prep time and my beloved Instant Pot. Remove either of those variables and my culinary skills quickly resemble a survival cooking show. I wasn't quite ready to debut my "experimental freezer casserole surprise" for guests. So the family meeting began. Chinese food? Nope--someone just had it. Pizza? Also no--apparently that was last night's adventure. Burgers? Absolutely not. One of the teens dramatically declared, "Not today, Satan." Then, out of nowhere, a teenager casually drops a suggestion that stopped the room: "Barbecue from a place called Crave." Barbecue? Interesting. But... none of us had ever heard of this place. Naturally, the next question was: Where is it? And that's when the real twist arrived. Apparently Crave Hot Dogs & BBQ is inside Walmart Supercenter. Yes. Inside Walmart. At this point I was convinced the teenager had been scrolling too much TikTok. A barbecue restaurant... in Walmart? I had to see this with my own eyes. So off we went. Sure enough, tucked right inside the store was this little barbecue spot that looked like it had no business being that good. The smell alone should have been illegal to pump into a retail environment. You walk in expecting to buy paper towels and leave smelling like you just visited a smokehouse in Texas. And the food? Surprisingly fantastic. The barbecue had that smoky flavor that makes you pause mid-bite and say, "Okay... hold on... this is actually really good." The portions were generous, the menu had plenty of options, and somehow the whole thing managed to feel both fast and freshly made. The real miracle of the evening was that everyone--kids, guests, and the exhausted adults--walked away happy and full. No experimental freezer meals were required, and my reputation as a "competent host" lived to see another day. Final verdict: If someone tells you there's legit barbecue inside Walmart, don't argue--go investigate. You might walk in skeptical, but you'll probably walk out full, impressed, and wondering how you discovered a hidden barbecue joint in the same place you buy laundry detergent.

Our server, Amanda, was very attentive to our needs, and answered all of our questions. When our food arrived, we felt that we were transported to Italy. The portions were large and delicious. My creamy pesto bowl was filled with pasta and was accompanied by a large ball of homemade mozzarella. It was truly scrumptious. Beachy theme, plenty of outdoor seating, and a solid location near the water (not quite toes-in-the-sand, but close enough to feel the breeze). It wasn't busy when I stopped in, which made for an easy, relaxed lunch. I went with the Surfin' Cali Burrito, because commitment to the theme felt necessary. Portions are big and prices are reasonable, so no complaints there. But flavor-wise, it was more "gentle ripple" than "flavor wave." Not bad, just not something I'd go out of my way to order again. This spot really feels like it shines more as a bar than a restaurant. I can see it being great for drinks, hanging out, and soaking in the atmosphere. As a food destination, it's decent, but not exactly making a splash. It was also pretty warm inside, though with all the doors open, that's kind of part of the laid-back setup. Bottom line: Good vibes, fair prices, generous portions, and okay food.
