Was really craving a chili dog. First time patron at Frosty King. Cute little old-fashioned feeling shop. I'm certain that this is an iconic ice cream shop to the locals and I don't want to knock it or upset anyone here, really, but here is my thought, stick to ice cream. If you're not selling other foods and doing those as well as your ice cream, take them off the menu. My hot dog was hot- yes. It had a decent bun. The dog itself was meh. I've had better, I've had worse. The price was good. The chili and liquid cheese - I could have bought Hormel and cheese whiz. It's great if you like THAT! But if you're going to do it- do it well. Do it BETTER than the others! Or don't do it. Based on that experience, I'm just not going out of my way to hurry back, but I'm sure there a lot of people that will and that's okay. We love Frosty King!! The variety of delights means something for everyone. Homemade and soft serve, sugar free and non-dairy! They've got it all! When friends are visiting from out of town we love the take them here. There is a drive-through. There is also a really ice seating area. I have been here three times. The first time was fabulous. Ice cream was delicious and our experience was good. Unfortunately, the last two visits have been a very big disappointment. The ice cream has been soft, which makes it not as enjoyable to eat and when you're going for such a special treat you really want to be able to enjoy everything. I went in with our half eaten ice cream and asked the young man working the counter if there was a reason the ice cream was so soft and he just said that it's like that in the mornings and as the day goes on the ice cream gets harder. They've let management know, but nothing has been done. He apologized for our experience. Sadly, after today's visit we probably won't go back. read more

This is hands down the BEST icecream store in both the Edgewater and New Smyrna Beach area!! It is a mom-and-pop shop that is well-known for their homemade icecreams. They make the icecream in shop and have hundreds of flavors. All are delicious and the staff will happily let you sample any of their options. If you aren't into the hard icecream, there are also soft serve, sorbets, smoothies, and even hot food options. There is something for everyone here! Prices are fair considering this is homemade icecream and the portions are generous. They seem to have a surplus of loyal regulars. I would consider myself one of them. First time stopping and will definitely be back. The staff was very friendly and offered us samples to try. There were so many homemade flavors to choose from. My youngest got a small and they allowed her to mix 2 flavors, which most places do not all. I appreciated that. My mom can't eat chocolate so she had a large variety of non-chocolate flavors to choose from. The prices were great. A small was below $4. 3 smalls and 1 medium were like $13. My kids were amazed at the guy making the new flavor of ice cream while we were in the store. A great place for homemade ice cream. read more

service was horrible and they messed up all of our food and ice cream. the ice cream was all melted and they didn't give me the right order. The guy there was being rude when were trying to order hot dogs and he told us to not "hold up the line" but with attitude. Such a cute ice cream place. In a building all by itself. Has a drive-through menu outside and inside. We walked in here for the first time and everyone was very nice and welcoming. And they let us sample almost every ice cream before coming to our ultimate decision of birthday cake. They say they make the ice cream themselves here which is a bonus. The ice cream was so good! Was just there at to-go window and worker told me "be with u in a minute". 4 minutes later still haven't had order taken and look inside and see thru glass window and see 3 workers talking. Really? There were no other customers in the store. Didn't like my hat? Maybe figured "hes an old guy we will get to him when we want?"
