This sandwich, which was introduced in Cincinnati in 1962 by a franchise owner whose restaurant was in a heavily Catholic neighborhood. He wanted to have something to offer to help offset the drop in burger sales on Fridays. It worked and it remains a menu favorite after 63 years. The fish changed from Atlantic Cod to Alaskan Pollack due to sustainable populations. And I like many folks believe the size of the filet has shrunk some. The pollack filets are stacked and cut into uniform squares which provides uniform size and reduces waste. The filets are breaded and partially cooked at the processing plants, then flash frozen before being shipped to the individual restaurants, where it is deep fried until crispy! So my square fish filet had quite the journey before being nestled in a steamed bun with half a slice of cheese, then topped with tartar sauce! There are better fish sandwiches available at Culver's and Showmar's for example, but one of these occasionally is nice!

Checkout google reviews, Doordash, Nextdoor, facebook, several people have reported issues and I know one person was hospitalized after eating half a cajun chicken sandwich that was raw. How this location is still opened is beyond me. Also, some of the staff have very bad attitudes. I feel like upper level management for this location simply do not care because if they did, these issues would not still be happening. We will never be back
