This place has quickly become a favorite of ours since we moved into the neighborhood. A to go order of flat breads may have saved our first night at the new house! Quite a busy spot, this little eatery near the Harris Teeter, though I didn't have to wait long for a table. My server was one of at least three working that evening, and she stayed moving at a brisk pace amongst all the diners in her section. This meant I did have to wait a bit to place my order, but not unreasonably so. After submitting my order, the initial salad course came with minimal wait. I found the bowl's contents simple yet fresh, and I was especially pleased at the quality of the cranberry vinaigrette. Just before I swept up the last greens from the salad, my main course arrived: the Mediterranean seafood pasta. I wasn't quite as impressed by this phase of the meal, however. The amount of calamari in particular was plenty, but I found it a bit too rubbery for my preferences. There were a few good-sized shrimp in the plate also, and their texture was better than the calamari's. But these items just didn't seem to mesh well with the flavors of the marinara, and the peppers and tomatoes didn't help either. There wasn't any real melding of the individual ingredients into a complete dish; each component felt as though they'd been introduced to the others at the last possible moment, and the taste of each didn't contribute to the others in a favorable way. [Seasoning the seafood more substantially, softening the added fruit and veggies with additional cooking, and using a more robust sauce would've helped, I think. Or perhaps a white wine and garlic sauce with the seafood, accompanied by angel hair instead of the spaghetti noodles I received.] All this leads me to believe I simply ordered the wrong dish for my tastes (though I typically enjoy the combination of pasta and seafood). I think I'll come back in the future and try another entree to see if that goes better. For now, though, I'll hold the rating at three stars. read more

Had dinner here recently while in the area. A popular place with locals, with good mediterranean food and kind service. We walked in and were greeted coming through the door. A small restaurant with a walk up counter area, and a side dining room only eight or so booths around the perimeter and a handful of tables and chairs in the interior. Service is brigade style, with several staff working our table. We were wanting a little bit, so started with the Calamari appetizer. It was well prepared and light breaded and flash fried, served with lemon wedges and a side marinara. It was very good, tender and cooked near perfection. We decided on a build your own Flatbread with canadian bacon, black olives, banana peppers and pineapple. Along with the Lobster raviolis. Both were good, the flatbread was done well but a little soggy? Pretty disappointed with the wings. We were curious to try them after our last visit and after seeing several reviews raving about them, we decided to order them for carryout. Sadly, they were not good at all. We requested them crispy but they weren't deep-fried enough to be crispy when we got them. We ordered both the Greek and Jerk flavors. The Greek wings were covered in what seemed like Greek salad dressing, making them very watery when we opened the container. They also lacked the bold Greek flavor we were expecting. We actually ended up sprinkling some Greek seasoning we had at home on them to bring out more flavor. The Jerk wings were better and did have some flavor but they still weren't bold enough for our taste. Since we really enjoy the restaurant's Greek dishes, we had high hopes for the Greek wings in particular. Unfortunately, neither flavor was a hit for us. We came here a couple of weeks ago while in the area. We have heard positive reports on the Villa Grill so we decided to check it out. We were greeted right away and taken to a table and provided menus and our drink orders were taken. The menu is large and had a variety of items including burgers, sandwiches, flatbreads, Italian entrees, salads, wings and souvlaki. My wife decided on the pork souvlaki plate with pita and tzatziki while I chose spaghetti and meat balls which came with a side salad. My salad was brought quickly and while I enjoyed it my wife is picky when it comes to her salads and she remarked that she was glad she didn't order a bigger one because the salad was simply shredded iceberg lettuce with only a few toppings. Our meals arrived in a timely manner and looked good. My wife enjoyed her meal and I thought the spaghetti was good. The interior feels a bit worn and dated and my wife used the restroom and reported it was dingy and needed some attention. Overall, it was a decent experience but probably not somewhere we are going to rush back to. read more

I was going to another restaurant in this area, but found tat the hours had changed, not open until 1PM . So I headed here, always a good choice. I ordered the Old Country Chicken Sandwich along with Onion Rings, and Peroni with a cold glass. The beer was soon on the table accompanied by an ice cold glass. The food was soon there, about. 10 minutes out of the kitchen, and as I've said before that is not always a good thing - and in this instance it was not especially good. Both the thin chicken pattie and the onion rings were commercial products with no hint of freshness, and the chicken was dry and could have been any kind of protein. Don't know what old country that chicken was from but I get the old part. Neither is something I'd order again. I think this was just an unfortunate menu choice because my previous meals here had been very good. I will be back, but with different choices! read more

Where has this been all my life? We just moved around the corner last week and have gotten take out 3 times. The menu is diverse and the pizza are actually large delicious flatbreads with quality ingredients. Service has been so friendly and kind, food is piping hot, and it's ready fairly quickly. Headed in to VG for the first time before a horse trail ride. It was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. Our server was very nice she was friendly with the table and got us all we needed. It was a pretty causal vibe and we were just there for something quick to eat. The order was mainly burgers and sandwiches I got what they called souvlaki which didn't seem like the traditional plate I'm used to but it wasn't bad at all. I added the picture below. It was more chicken over greens w some tzatziki and flatbread. The side of veggies was good. We also had onion rings that were really tasty I like how they season the batter. A bunch of tables around us went with their pizza or flatbread option and those looked decent as well I'd return to try those. The prices were really fair for what they give you as well. From the first steps in the door to the last steps out the door, the service was excellent! We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server, Adam was fantastic! Took our drink orders right away and gave us a few minutes to look over the menu, and then a few more when he noticed my elderly mother-in-law was still looking at the menu. Once the salads arrived, we were given the perfect amount of time to finish before the entrees arrived! Drinks were refilled, salad plates were taken away, Adam checked back in with us a few times! We really didn't have to ask for a thing! Another server walking by grabbed empty plates while our server was assisting another guest. You can't go wrong with anything you order here. From their flatbread pizzas, chicken wings, baked pasta dishes or homemade five pepper hummus - it's all delicious! Quick easy spot for lunch. I saw they had "pow pow shrimp" on their specials menu and I knew it was for me! A spin on "bang bang shrimp" with the creamy Thai chili sauce with sriracha. This had really nice plating for a more casual eatery and it was really good. I wasn't terribly hungry so I just ordered the pow pow shrimp appetizer with a side of fries. The fries here are GREAT. Fried to absolute perfection and they have a really nice seasoning on them! I paired it with ranch and they were delicious. My mom got the philly cheesesteak which you can get with beef tips or shredded beef. It was cheesy and the bun was nice and toasty. The chips were fried to perfection and had the seasoning as well. She said it was the best hot chips she's had. My only complaint is that the price point is a bit high for the fact that it's still a fairly casual place in my opinion, especially for lunch. 2022...lots of 2's there. I have dedicated 2022 to giving places second chances because anyone can have a bad day. Todays second chance was given to Villa grill. 2 years ago I had one of the worst eating experiences EVER. I was once again craving cheesesteak so I thought I would give it another go, even though I swore I would never go back there. Some things never change. My wife and I ordered cheesesteaks with SHAVED meat. We specified shaved because it was an option on the menu. We got our waters quickly and that was the only thing that came quickly other than the regret of giving this place a second chance. WE WAITED AN HOUR FOR CHEESESTEAK. Our server was nice and apologized profusely blaming the delay in take-out orders. What a load of garbage! Orders should be prepped in order of the time ticketed in the kitchen. So we waited and almost left. An hour later our food came. The fries and onion rings must have gone up in value because both were scarce. Not much of them. The cheesesteaks WERE NOT shaved. They were chopped. If you look at my previous review, I complained about he meat being in large strips. Again, the meat was devoid of any flavor. I think this meat comes in precooked and all they do is reheat it. Salt, tons of pepper and Mayo gave a little flavor and also some From The peppers, onions and mushrooms. The star of the meal was the ROLL. It was perfectly toasted. But it gets worse, throughout our meal there was loud, sharp "BANGS" Coming from the kitchen which was about 20 feet away. Sounded like someone slamming things on hard surface. They were so loud and sharp it startled me several times and became very annoying and distracting. When I asked the server about it, the server told me it was "someone getting mad". Great, bad food with a bad attitude. Sums it right up. Our server was good. It was unfortunate they he had to try to cover for the Shlebs in the kitchen. Maybe they should drop the cheesesteak from The menu. Maybe I should have ordered some Thing else. It was crowded. People tell Me good things about this place. But for me and my Money, we shan't come here again. We are done. They have added some black film to the sore front windows due to complaints of excessive light by other customers. We had dinner at the Villa Grille on 11/3/2023. One of the great local eateries of Clemmons and a must try for anyone. The food is great, haven't found a bad thing to eat yet and the menu offers a lot of options from burgers, sandwiches, Flatbread, pastas, full dinner entrees like steak and fish, to salads and wings. Portions are great and the value is good. The staff is fantastic, often working as a team you never have an empty cup and food comes out quickly. Had not tried this place again in a few years but had a good experience tonight. I tried the chicken Slovakia with pita bread and pasta salad as my side. Tasted good and I really enjoyed - I mixed all the stuff on my plate including the relish and lettuce and put my. Tzatziki on it like salad dressing - delicious. Wife got a burger - she said ok - kid got a flat bread pizza and it was huge - she was satisfied. What really stood out was the service - manager who I assume was part of the family that owns it seated us right away and they took time to clean a booth that opened up and seated us there instead of a table without us even having to ask. Waiter working went MIA so the manager took our order and took over our table so we didn't have to wait - service got better from there - I was left completely satisfied with how we were serviced - super nice job. Place is friendly, quaint and fit our need for a quick good meal. Glad we gave it another shot - would dine again. A local place for me, opposite Tanglewood park, in a strip shopping center, Villa Grill is a little find. Fabulous everything, service, food, variety and the owner Georgia is sweet as can be. Nice little wine list, bit of everything. I got a glass of the Cava , and my friend got the Pinot Noir. Nice pours, and both really good. Finally when we got round to ordering I got the chicken souvlaki and my random side was sweet potato fries. I know weird! My friend got the special of the day, salmon, with lemon butter, grilled veggies, and rice pilaf. Both came out pretty quickly, my plate was massive, lots of chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, peppers, whole pita bread, great tasting tzatziki sauce, and the sweet potato fries were different, not quite sure how, but really good! The salmon looked delicious and she said it was , pretty big piece too, lots of rice and veggies too. For the money great value, for everything. They had a few specials which was a nice add on to the pretty extensive menu. The best part of this dinner was the dessert, on a whim we decided to get one, I picked the lemoncello cake. Just sounded good! Oh lord, this is a must, even if you are full , take it home. Lemony, so light, creamy, great raspberry sauce on top, just amazing. Perfect end to a great dinner. We called ahead and they saved us a table on the patio which is really just two tables in front of their business in a strip mall. Every single thing we ordered was fantastic. My original review was after my first visit here. 1) I am addicted to their Blanco Flatbread (Pizza). I cannot stop eating eat. 2) Everything I have tried is really good (flatbreads, wings, souvlaki, calamari) 3) Villa Grill is a local joint doing it right which deserves an extra star 4) Service has always been friendly and attentive The Villa Grill is the kind of local restaurant you want in your town.
