The manager doubled down on that attitude--no apology, just a lecture about their menu. That kind of response is unacceptable. If there's confusion, you clarify it--you don't push it onto the customer. I gave them another shot later, hoping it was just a one-off experience. Unfortunately, it wasn't. I ordered marinated steak strips with a salad (listed online around $14.99) and added a single chicken breast. When I picked it up, the total was $31. I asked why, and was told the chicken breast alone was $9. For one basic chicken breast, that's excessive. What made it worse was the reaction--I got a look like I was the problem for even questioning it. At this point, it's not just about the prices--it's the combination of being overpriced and the attitude behind it. If you're going to charge premium prices, the service needs to match. I can almost always split my meal in half and have a second lunch for the next day. But these items just didn't seem to mesh well with the flavors of the marinara, and the peppers and tomatoes didn't help either. There wasn't any real melding of the individual ingredients into a complete dish; each component felt as though they'd been introduced to the others at the last possible moment, and the taste of each didn't contribute to the others in a favorable way. [Seasoning the seafood more substantially, softening the added fruit and veggies with additional cooking, and using a more robust sauce would've helped, I think.
