Stopped in a couple times recently while in the area. A small old school diner, with table service. Good home style cooking is whats going on here, with friendly staff and reasonable prices. We were greeted walking in and seated in the same moment by the hostess. Our server stopped by promptly to get our beverage order. We started with an order of their house made potato chips but they never arrived? Our server dropped off dipping sauce but the chips never got to our table. I opted for the meatloaf with mashed and greenbeans. This was a hearty meal, a nice portion of well prepared meatloaf. The mash was old school rustic style, and good. The greenbeans again old school, like my grandma used to make and very good. The manager came by and apologized for the mishap on the chips and took them off our bill. Guys, I just had the hands down best dinner I've had in ages. I met a new friend for dinner at Steven's restaurant. Still in Winston but near Davidson county ( about 20 minutes south of where I live). Completely worth the drive! I had the Thursday night special, garlic spinach parmesan chicken with rice. I got two sides, fried zucchini and baked apples. I'm not lying, EVERY single thing was delicious! The baked apples had the perfect seasoning to them. The garlic spinach parmesan chicken had like an alfredo type sauce on top and the perfect compliment of a seasoned rice underneath. The chicken was incredibly tender. I would order this exact combo again in a heartbeat. The staff was incredibly friendly. As soon as you walk in you can tell the place is full of regulars. Our family went to supper here the other night for the first time. It felt homey right as we walked in the door. Every employee was super friendly and attentive. Our waitress was fun and thorough with her service. The food came out quickly even though they were packed that night. Everything came out correctly, and the food was delicious. My daughter couldn't get enough of the tartar sauce, saying it was the best she has ever had. My husband loved his popcorn shrimp and my Greek platter was wonderful! The lady sitting at the front didn't have good customer service, wasn't friendly and didn't even say thank you . Cute little diner close by the house we have been trying to get to for a little over a month. We finally got the chance to go Friday. I ordered the spaghetti for Luke. The sauce was a little chunkier than he prefers but I am guessing it was pretty good because he finished it. Randy got the kids cheeseburger and fries. It's presentation was great and he cleaned his plate even though he only gave it a 7/10. I would disagree on account that he never cleans his plate. I ordered the teriyaki chicken over rice with mac and cheese and green beans. It was good it wasn't something I would go there to eat but it tasted okay. Reminded me of any other small town diner really. Our waitress was super friendly and we ordered a cheeseburger to go for my husband who didn't come with us. They started to get busy so I got up and waited at the front of the restaurant to free up the table space. The lady at the register had a HORRIBLE attitude! She acted aggravated that I wasn't walking up to the register to pay. She gave me this god awful gesture to come to the register. I told her I was waiting on a to-go that wasn't ready yet. She scrambled to find it which took a few minutes more. As we were ringing out she was just hateful and that left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. That's why I couldn't give them 4 stars. Even though the food wasn't the best we had liked the environment and wait staff is friendly. The register lady was just awful and ruined it for us. The parking lot is always full, so we decided to give it a try. I wasn't super hungry, so I opted for fried mozzarella sticks. They were nothing special, just your standard frozen then deep fried variety. The marinara sauce would have been good if it wasn't cold. Like it was brought out of the fridge cold then put on the plate. I didn't say anything to our server as she didn't reappear for about 8 minutes. Hubby had the baked lasagna. He said it would have been better than what he got at the place in Salisbury- except the noodles were overdone making it just eh. So, we may only go back to give their breakfast a try. read more

This is yet another very good Greek run restaurant in the greater Winston Salem area. This one is about 7 or 8 miles out Peters Creek, heading south toward Arcadia - Peters Creek actually becomes NC Hwy 150, so the only turn is into the parking lot. Like Ranch-O, The Lighthouse, The Pavilion, Olympic, Grecian Corner, Omega House and other similar places, it offers a variety of county cooking items, some typical Greek influenced dishes, great salads, and sandwiches. They have daily specials, so some items are not available every day, especially the country cooking ones, like Mac & Cheese - which is very nice. The meat loaf with gravy is one of my favorites, and the White Fish is generally good. The spaghetti is typically Greek, with a touch of spices in the sauce, like cinnamon, good & meaty. Their sandwiches are nice, with burgers and hot dogs being excellent. The portions are nice, the prices more than reasonable, and the service great - the owner is almost always there it seems, and check on everything. This place is a little ways out, unless you live or work on that side of Winston, but this place is worth a try. They also serve breakfast, but I've yet to try it, but I would guess it would be as good as everything else. read more

My husbands family lives RIGHT down the street from this place. It is a cute little place. There are family photos on the wall, a dry erase board with specials, and always friendly staff. This is definitely a place where there are regulars. If you go here more than three times, someone is bound to get to know you. The food is delicious and always made right. The people here are small town friendly, which is not something I grew up with. I try to get something new each time I go, since evertime I am in town visiting my in laws take us here. They have wonderful prices and a pretty good selection of food. My husband usually gets the teriyaki steak, which is delicious. I always try to get the okra-yum! I was on the hunt for Greek food and I remembered that Steven's was close to my house. They have a large menu with many choices and specials. A lot of people were ordering the fish so I will try that next time. I ordered the Greek platter. The salad, gyro, and chicken Souvlaki were delicious. The meats were hot and juicy. The Greek dressing was a little sweeter then I have had before but it worked with the dish. The Spanakopita was burnt on the bottom and not crispy on the top. The filling had too much mint. I would just order the gyro platter in the future. Service was very friendly. They don't make the desserts in house which was was disappointing. I did get chocolate cheesecake to go and it was ok. Discovered this place by accident but decided to give it a go. I love Greek food but there were tons of options for those who don't love Greek. The food was excellent and inexpensive. I highly recommend the chocolate mousse cheesecake. It was a slice of heaven. I wish, however, we'd had another server. She seemed distracted and a little angry at having another table to serve. Refills on drinks took forever. We had to call for her several times to order dessert. When she did come back with refills and dessert she only filled our glasses halfway. We eat here almost every Friday for lunch after work, the lunch combo Chicken Souvlaki is the best in the area and I love their Greek salad that comes with it. Everyone in our neck of the woods knows what an amazing place this truly is. It's quaint, humble, and high quality. The food is never bad and the specials a treasure piece. Seating for everyone and an amazing management. Servers are usually alright and get you exactly what you need when you need it, however not the most personal. Over the last 15 years of going, have yet to have a full conversation with a waitress. Depending on your preferences this could be extraordinary efficiency or dissociated lack of human element. My experience at Steven's Restaurant did not live up to the four star rating it enjoys. While the service was excellent, the food was only good. On the positive side, the eggs were cooked perfectly, grits were good, and the corned beef hash was fine. The coffee and biscuit were just ok. The biggest downfall of Steven's Restaurant was the lack of seasoning on the pork tenderloin and Greek potato fries. While they were both clearly hot and fresh, both were also...bland. read more

Great little place to eat for a casual meal. I've visited there often over the years, but now live just 2 miles away. So the wife and I go there once a week. Nice varied menu, and good food served during all three meals. The lunch menu offers specials, and the dinner menu offers different weeknight specials as well. The waitresses vary in service and attitude, but generally are good and hard working. As mentioned in other reviews, there are a lot of 'regulars' there, but if you enjoy the food and treat the staff well, you will be a 'regular' too! read more

My neighbor took me here for lunch one day. I loved the down home feel of the place. We were seated promptly by a friendly waitress. I had the gyro with Greek salad. The gyro was huge, warm and fresh pita with lots of filling. Super tasty!! The salad was a bit oily but very good with lots of feta. My parents and I went there for dinner today. We use to be regulars here, but the waitresses became horrible. So then they went through a change of employees and won us back. However, tonight the owner didn't even try to keep us as customers even though we had to wait for 35 minutes for 2 burgers with fries and 2 vegetables. 5 tables that ordered after us got their food first, including an order similar to ours. The waitress was nice and apologized for what the cooks did. The owner "Gus", wouldn't even comp us with free teas or anything for what his cooks had done. We got charged full price for a bad experience. And he kept giving excuses for the bad service we received. My parents and I will no longer visit this place for a meal. read more
