Love their creamy lemon tart (if you like sweet & sour) Also their taro green tea latte is delicious, the taro balls are one of my favorites, really good, kind of like a mochi consistency! I heard soft opening day lines were long and took awhile to get drinks, but it was exactly the same in Seattle when they opened! Each cup is individually brewed so overall each order can take some time in general, but you definitely can taste the difference in my opinion. As a big boba lover, their drinks are delicious, I only go to Chicha for bubble tea back at home, can't even compare to hey tea or Molly tea in my opinion. Got the Bubble Milk Tea with perfect sugar and perfect ice (I let them pick since they know their menu better than I do) and it might genuinely be my favorite bubble tea I've had. Also tried the Creamy Mango Tart, which wasn't overly sweet and felt more like an actual tea drink than a dessert in a cup. If you go on a Saturday between 2 and 5 they do a free oolong tea tasting while you wait, five roast levels from light to dark. I tried the medium roast and it was really good. Small detail but it made the wait feel like part of the experience instead of just standing around. Would recommend for anyone who wants boba that actually tastes intentional. read more

The opening weekend craze was very real, and hopefully some of those kinks have been worked out. The shop is located within a large outdoor shopping mall with plenty of free uncovered parking depending on time of day. The actual store footprint is quite large with elevated white walls making the space feel even larger. They had us waiting outside on a 90+ degree day however, until one of the managers finally figured out they needed to save would-be customers from the sun. The drink menu was displayed on the wall screens, but in a small font, the only paper copies were taped to the register, and this seems to be a black hole for phone service so it was nearly impossible to plan what to order before we got near the front of the line (a whopping hour later). There's only one size of drink which standardizes things. Pricing is on par with other higher end boba shops. Customization of ice and sweetness is customary nowadays for milktea, but limited for some of their specialty drinks. It was a pretty long wait for our drinks - despite the handful of tea prep stations, only a few staff seemed to know how to operate these and the rest were finishers idling around. During the soft opening, they were giving out samples of their standard milktea - I would rate this a pretty average (and sweet) Taiwanese black milktea. We did enjoy our Green Tea Taro Ball (the taro balls are extra fun, more like mochi than your typical tapioca chew) and the Creamy Mango Tart was very refreshing on a hot day, but similar to something you could get at Mango Mango. The machines were pretty cool, similar to an espresso maker but designed for tea leaves, and I am also intrigued by what seems to be a tea tasting bar that was set up near the front of the store but not yet operational. read more

This Taiwanese tea spot is fabulous. Yes, there was an initial wait for the soft opening but no duh that's going to happen. That happens with every soft opening and if you can't understand that concept and how they do these to work out kinks then don't go back and complain in a review. We recently went to Taiwan and my husband and I learned so much culture around the tea world in Taiwan. It's honestly more in depth than the whole bubble tea concept. It goes generations and has rich history about the location, season, elevation, and how tea is harvested and grown. The processing is so different from other countries too. You grow an appreciation towards the tea culture there. All the tea selections were great to choose from. You can decide on the type, sweetness, ice, and any additives. The tea is pretty high quality too. I wanna say this is a pretty well known tea brand in Taiwan that's won awards too. I'm excited they finally brought more selection to Colorado. I also saw they have tea tastings on the weekend. I look forward to taking my husband here to try this out. The girl that took our order too was very personable and explained how ordering would work. The inside was clean, nicely cool, and had several places to sit. I would come back again. I'm excited to have the high mountain tea. Side note, I only waited 15 mins for our order. read more

I'm not really sure how to rate this place honestly. I have seen this place as coming soon for over 2 years so I'm glad it's finally opened. I'm glad we have this "3 star" boba shop in Colorado. We ordered 4 drinks: milk tea, creamy lemon tart, ding dong oolong latte, and honey oolong tea and 2/4 were drinks we would recommend again. The milk tea is one of the better ones I've had in Colorado. It just tastes very smooth. And the creamy lemon tart wasn't so sour and tasted like a lemon pie. The oolong teas were a little too strong for me and made my head hurt throughout the day. We thought the wait would be quick because the line wasn't wrapped around the block but we were wrong. We waited 15 min in line and then another 30 for our drinks. They gave us a 1 hour max wait so take that into consideration if you're planning on coming during your lunch break. From reviews from other locations, it just seems like you're always waiting for your drink. I've read anywhere from 7 min to 30 at older Chicha locations. The day has finally come. Chicha San Chen has finally opened in Colorado (well soft opening, but that still counts). This was a much anticipated wait. Arrived around 12pm when the store opened and it took 2 hours from getting in line to walking out with my drinks, but was still worth the wait. Staff were so kind and patient; provided many of us with samples of their milk tea with cream and small water bottles since it was so hot outside. Once I finally got in, the store itself was so aesthetically put together and clean. AC felt so nice once walking in, but that's beside the point. I've been to the ones in California, and those looked similar but were smaller in size. This one had lots of space and I can imagine when it's less busy it wouldn't be too crowded. I ordered the fruit tea, bubble milk tea, creamy mango tart, and Dong Ding oolong tea. Fruit tea was very refreshing. I ordered without sugar, which was perfect for me in terms of sweetness, tartness, and fruity flavor, but if you like sweeter, recommend with less sugar. Bubble milk tea had such a depth of flavor with a roasty undertone. Not too sweet either. You can actually taste the tea, which is something that other places lack. Their boba was perfectly chewy. Creamy mango tart was intriguing. This was so creamy. Good amount of sweet. The cream was so good, has a marshmallow like flavor with hint of saltiness. I didn't taste much of the tart aspect though. Recommend mixing this for sure. Would get this again! Got the regular oolong tea just to try their pure tea. Very clean and typical for tea. Wasn't too strong or bitter. They should make this wholesale and sell in stores, I would definitely buy. Overall, what a great addition to the community, can't wait to come back and try their other drinks! read more

Overall this pace is just fine. The first time I had ChiCha San Chen was at the Carrollton location in Texas and that was far better in my opinion than this location. I do know that this is a new location so they are still figuring out some kinks which is totally ok. Overall the tea and drinks were nothing special which I feel like it should be considering the quality and price of the drinks. Waited 40 minutes in line to order! Waited another 20 minutes for the drink! I ordered a simple tea with milk in it, no sugar, no toppings, not complicated at all! We were number 115, they served up to number 122, completely missed our order. They even said "some drinks take longer to make than others", but more complicated drinks were coming out first. It's absurd how long it took to get a cup of tea! We had to leave and couldn't wait no longer so they refunded us instead of trying to speed up our order. Service was horrible! read more

The drinks were decent, but the portions didn't justify the price. Overall, it's just an average boba tea shop. We waited about 30 minutes for our order, and while waiting, I watched how the drinks were being prepared. Despite having around 5-8 staff making drinks and another 2 packing orders, the process was surprisingly slow and inefficient, especially considering the menu is fairly simple. Drinks were ok, we waited three hours for the drinks. It was opening day and there was no organization or communication from staff about how long our wait would be, what line to get it to order, the fact that they had a kiosk instead of waiting in line, etc. We stood in a line to get to the front door for an hour - this was expected for me - what was unexpected was the additional two hours we waited inside the store. It got to the point where we had two people in our party wait while the other two went and shopped and used bathrooms in other stores because their bathroom wasn't open to customers (insane!). As someone who's worked in retail and restaurant service, it was clear that this opening was not well thought out or planned. Would suggest having a few staff to direct people in line, give updates on the wait time, etc. There were plenty of staff hanging around that could've stepped in to do this. Two people were standing at the end of the counter taking their sweet time putting stickers and cup holders on the drinks, one person handing out sample of tea at a separate counter - these are people that logistically should've been removed and put into roles to organize the flow of customers and improve efficiency. I get that this is supposed to be "a tea experience" but when it's 100+ degrees outside and you've got large numbers of people waiting you ditch the experience and start improving the process. But I guess that's just me... lol. The drinks themselves were ok. A few of the teas have a great taste, but nothing I would knowingly wait hours for again. Would HIGHLY suggest waiting for the hype to die down before coming back or trying them as a first timer. My thoughts are, you're going to get a more enjoyable experience when it's less chaotic. read more
