Upside ahboong with cookies and cream soft serve, Nutella and toasted coconut
    Emily S.

We loved our first visit to Somisomi in CO. We have had it in CA and we're so excited to see someone bringing it to CO! I hope they'll be opening up more in the future. The space is bigger than the other ones we've been to and I was shocked by the lack of line. I guess word isn't out about this awesomeness or maybe it's just too far from Denver. Either way, what a bummer for those missing out. The large space will be great for when there is a long line so that folks won't feel too crowded while waiting for their tasty treats. We ordered an upside down cookies and cream ahboong and the two pack of taiyaki (red bean and cheddar). All the flavors were so fresh and delicious. Our taiyaki was a little underdone for my taste but it still tasted great. The staff was super friendly and helpful which I think will be nice for folks who may not be familiar with this shop. We had a great first visit and this place is definitely worth the drive! We will absolutely be back for more!

At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to try this place, but I decided to give it a try, and I'm really glad I did. I did the Ube ice cream and wow it was incredible. It has this perfect balance of sweet vanilla, nutty, and coconut. One of my favorite parts was this ahboong waffle that was in the shape of a fish. It was filled with nutella and it went perfect with ube ice cream. The employees were very kind and helpful, and my order was made fast. The inside was kinda minimalist but very clean. I will definitely be back to eat this again.

This place may have ruined me for all other ice cream. I got the ahboong, ube soft serve with a fish shaped cone on top with custard and sprinkled with biscoff crumbs. It was the perfect balance of sweet, and the ahboong cone was light, airy, and perfectly crunchy. Totally worth it. The gentleman running the counter was really friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciated his help trying to find something that was caffeine free- he even noted that the chocolate was made from cacao, so might trigger my allergy as well. Highly highly recommend and I will absolutely be back.

I have been to Somisomi many times in San Diego. So when I heard there was a location coming to Colorado. I was excited! I finally got to stop in. My little toddler was super excited to have ice cream. We got the cookies and cream with a black sesame filled upside down with Oreo crumbs. Then got 5 taiyaki filled with mint Oreo, matcha custard, red bean, Nutella and Dubai chocolate. Service was fairly quick. It was a busy Sunday so I was impressed with how quickly everything came out. It was just as good as I remember. We will definitely be back!

Soft serve for dessert! It definitely it the spot the soft serve was great about 9 different flavors i got the milk and thai tea, daughter and bf got the cookie and cream. Light and soft light flavors. Few drink items that we did not get.The service was great fast and friendly. I was our 1st time and the cashier was great and explained. Great ambience. Nice and spacious good amount of seating.

Somisomi!!! Y'all are legit!!! I heard about this place from my nanny girlie who watches my babes on the weekdays. I am so glad she told me to go here! I ordered the Upside Down Ahboong (as recommended) and I was delighted with what I got. I chose the ube and matcha swirl soft serve and the Taiyaki filled with black sesame. Delightful, not too sweet, crisp, light, perfection! The Taiyaki was so delicate and light. The ube and matcha swirl soft serve was amazing. It was flavorful and I could taste both flavors so well. It is actually the perfect combo. The black sesame was tasty and all of it was the best snack I've treated myself to in a while. 10/10 recommend, I cannot wait to come back!!!

Somisomi has finally landed in Colorado and the line was long. It might have been the grand opening special or everyone has been anticipating the opening. If you've had Somisomi before, it's one of the best soft serve ice creams the ice cream is soft and it tastes nice with the fish cone as well. I would suggest you get the Upside down Ahbong because you get a cup and it's less messy. My go to is the ube. It isn't too sweet but you can still tell it's ube. It can be considered pricey if you get the Ahbong at like $7 but you get a lot. I'm excited to come back when the hype dies down a little bit so I'm not waiting over 40 min for ice cream.

Never been to a somisomi before but totally understand the hype. The ice cream was so smooth and the taiyaki is crunchy ok the outside and chewy in the middle. There was a line inside but it moved pretty fast when we were there. We tried the corn ice cream, the milk, and the banana pudding/cookies and cream swirl. We also got the upside down to get a fish w our ice cream. We ordered some taiyakis to go, they were sold as 2 for $5 and 5 for $10, so we got the 5 for $10 deal - red beans, black sesame, custard, nutella and cheese. I like custard, cheese, red beans in that order and the hubby's favorite was the Nutella and the cheese. We had just had some hot pot and not super hungry... ended up reheating the taiyakis the next day - airfryer 400F for 5 mins worked really well. They don't have lactose free offerings here so if you're lactose sensitive like me, I can definitely tell it's real milk or that it has lactose. Thuy and Johnny took care of us and provided us with great service. We will definitely be back when in the area, so happy they decided on their first Colorado location up North. Welcome to Colorado Somisomi!

I was so excited to see that they've opened a somisomi location in Denver! I usually have to go to California to experience the tastiness and I was excited to get my boyfriend to try it for the first time! Service was very kind and patient despite going on their opening day where there were tons of customers and the environment was so spacious and clean. We managed to snag a seat just fine. The quality of the treat was just as tasty as the one I tried in California except the taiyaki wasnt placed very snug so after they gave us the toppings the taiyaki fell out and onto the ground so I wasn't able to try the custard taiyaki that I'm sure would have been delightful with the ube/milk soft serve. Luckily they gave everyone a free taiyaki as a promotional freebie so I just ate the ice cream with that.

We arrived around 6:30pm. There was a line, but it wasn't wrapped around outside. There weren't any tables, but a large communal sitting space. We weren't sure if they'd be out of half their flavors this late in the day. To our surprise they had everything in stock and all the workers were working diligently and the line moved quickly. We got the ube flavor along with the matcha and sweet corn swirl upside down ahboong. It came with a random flavored complimentary taiyaki for their grand opening. We ended up with black sesame and oreo filling. The ice cream was so smooth, soft and full of flavor. I find ube a hard flavor for places to work with and theirs is one of the best soft serve ube I've had around town. The matcha was also strong, but I think the sweet corn was too subtle to taste properly. I'd order the sweet corn alone to fully taste the flavor. Their taiyaki was made fresh and was not bad. The fillings were a bit too sweet for my liking. I'll definitely be back, but I'll probably just order the soft serve cup.

We got the Cookies & Cream with banana mix and Matcha flavors. Both were super delicious and flavorful. The taiyaki fish was perfectly crispy on the outside with custard filling on the inside. The taiyaki is my favorite and I recommend getting that on top of your ice cream! On top of that, the people working there were super kind and welcoming which made the experience even better. So happy this finally opened up in Colorado! Such a great spot for dessert, and I'll definitely be back!

Yes!! I have never had Somisomi before, but my boyfriend is from Texas and raves about it all the time. Considering it was opening day, the line did go all the way around the store, but the line moved at a steady pace. It wasn't bad at all. You could tell that the employees were all working really hard to get all of the orders out. Service was super kind and even at the end when we got our order, they gave us 2 free taiyaki for the 2 ice creams we had ordered. I got the upside down ahboong with sweet corn ice cream, custard filling, and no toppings. The ice cream wasn't too sweet but had that subtle sweet corn flavor that I oh so love. The custard was delicious as well, and the taiyaki was warm and fluffy. Delicious! I devoured mine in minutes. As of now, there aren't any physical tables to sit at. However, there is a long oblong shaped bench with stools that folx can sit down and enjoy their ice cream and taiyaki at. Overall, great experience! We live 40 minutes away, but my boyfriend said that he would drive every weekend to get Somisomi.

I do enjoy some good ol soft serve ice cream! Let alone they have Asian flavored options like Thai tea! Very good and I'd definitely be coming back for more

I think the main attraction here is the AYCE Korean bbq, there are 3 different price tier options starting at $33 per person (we will come back and try but it smelled delicious) Staff was friendly, no wait time because large venue with lots of seating, could definitely host a large group. While waiting on your meats to arrive we enjoyed some of their sushi options. The best roll was the crispy shrimp tempura roll, the main course was more satisfying. To accompany the order there are a handful of small side dishes to enjoy with your meal. I enjoyed the potato salad was sweet and creamy with corn, though I wish they had pickled radish as a side. I'm finding this side dish hard to find amongst Kbbq establishments for some reason. Large portions and lots of options among this menu. My favorite was the Short ribs (limit 2 piece per person). The thick and juicy cuts were amazing. Rich and fatty, 2 pieces were more than enough for me. One thing I really appreciated was that the staff checked in with us frequently to change out our grill and see if we wanted to order more. The only thing was our table did not receive scissors to cut the short rib with. I asked two servers if they could provide us with them though we never received them. It made the dish a bit difficult to eat, but all in all a good experience. The sushi was ok but main attraction was the large portions and roomy seating, which left me comfortably full after a few rounds of ordering.

I have been there when it has been super busy and I have been there when it was slow. Didn't matter, as service has always been good. We went today as a party of 4. It was the closest Korean bqq to where we were staying so we went. They have AYCE for $38 which I thought was pricey compared to LA and they limit you to getting galbi just once. My husband wasn't very hungry so we decided to get 2 orders of galbi instead of AYCE. I was disappointed that it was the LA galbi cut. Usually that is the cut they give you at a Korean nonbbq restaurant. But it was still good. They had a good variety of banchan. The kimchi was really old though and we only got two pieces of cucumber. I asked for more cucumber and they said that because we didnt get AYCE we dont get unlimited sides. I've never heard of having to pay for banchan unless it is a Korean restaurant in the middle of no where. But the server came back and said that this time they could give us a second serving but would charge us after. They dont have any garlic, rice paper wraps, or ssam which was disappointing as well. If you have never had kbbq you will be happy with this place. But being Korean having grown up having the best kbbq in LA, this was just mediocre.

The Cajun fries came out hot and crispy we added the Cajun seasoning they had on the table and I really liked their sauce that came with the fries! Asian Cajun has neither. $20 for the fried oyster platter: the smallest flavorless oysters ever, obviously bought from SISCO, and a small handful of Cajun fries that I needed to dunk in ketchup, and if I need to use ketchup on your fries, that is a very bad sign, as I rarely use ketchup. I know from talking to the owner that the fries are $4 and you get a small handful. $16 for a soft shell crab basket: The difference between a basket and a platter is that the basket does not come with fries. These were small, overcooked, super oily crabs that tasted okay when dipped in their remoulade sauce. But nothing a Cajun or an Asian would say was seasoned properly. $50 for 3lbs of crawfish boil: I got the "all in" sauce, but could not taste any garlic, lemon, or Cajun seasoning. This is Prime time for Crawfish supposed to be the largest and best crawfish, harvested right now (but these were probably imported frozen from China; the shells were super soft and clung to the meat like previously frozen, cheap crawfish). There were a couple of medium to large crawfish in the bowl, and the rest were tiny, as small or smaller than my pinky finger. When you cook really small crawfish with medium to large crawfish, the little ones get mushy and are very hard to peel, and fall apart with the shell. $5 for added broccoli, which appeared to be frozen, thawed broccoli that turned to mush when cooked with the crawfish. When I got home, I added MSG and Old Bay seasoning to the bag, so hopefully it will taste better later. (I peeled all the crawfish there to make eating later easier and less messy.) You can buy a pound of frozen crawfish tails from Louisiana for $25 and get a ton more meat, much higher quality meat. $3.50 for a Diet Coke and $1.00 per refill. That is criminal pricing for the item on your menu with the highest margin of profit, and they do not tell you beforehand that refills are extra. And the waitress was so reluctant to get me refills, at one point, I had to walk to the counter to get a refill. They were not super busy, but she (the owner) was the only person working the front of the house. Three not very large sodas for $5.50 total... Circle K sells a 44-ounce soda for $1, tax included, and I am sure they still make a profit. Angel (the owner) was super friendly except for when asking for refills, but took a really long time to get back to me for anything. It was nice that she brought the check to the table and took my payment there instead of at the counter, since I walk with a cane. But no amount of friendliness, cleanliness, or nice decor will overcome bad food, especially at these prices.
