I'm obsessed! The service was outstanding, and the woman behind the counter answered all of my questions with so much patience and kindness. Ambience is quiet and neutral perfect for a quick bite by yourself or with someone. As someone who doesn't eat red meat, this place has quickly become one of my favorite spots for nachos. The food tastes authentic and packed with flavor. The portion sizes are great for the price, big enough to share with someone else. I'll definitely be coming back.

Holy, I think this was probably the best I've had from here! PARKING: there is street parking in front of the restaurant but it's a high traffic kinda area so we usually don't park there. I like to utilize the lot nearby since it's walking distance (3 minutes tops.) There is a wide selection of food here, from burgers to burritos to tacos -- they have a great selection! I saw they recently added some meatball soup and posole. I will definitely have to return to give that a try. I usually stick to the burgers with an impossible patty and can I just say they are exceptional! Well seasoned and delicious. I usually stick with my cali dreamin burger but that breakfast burger was absolutely delicious. It had a perfectly crisp hash brown :) Service was a bit more reserved today but I'm not complaining here. Absolutely love Cheyenne and the other worker with curly hair (I forgot her name but she has an autism badge of some sort.) They always make my day with their great service! We came at a good time. It was quiet and peaceful. The tables were cleaned and they recently added a self serve station!! Absolutely love that. By far, one of my favorite vegan places to frequent :) highly recommend this place.

Chicana is a downtown Fullerton eatery serving up vegan tacos, burritos, burgers, and more. Parking in DTF is always hit and miss, but you might get lucky and score a spot right out front on Commonwealth, or more likely in the parking lot right behind the restaurant. The inside is a little on the small side, but there are several tables, as well as two bar shaped tables facing the front window, which makes for good people watching. The walls are decorated nicely with a large colorful mural on one wall, and the other with greenery and Veganland spelled out in Hollywood sign letters. Both walls feature their superhero character. They also have a small patio with several tables behind the building. I stopped by to place and wait for a to-go order for my girlfriend. Jocelynn was at the register and was very friendly. When my order was ready, she brought it out to the table where I was sitting and waiting. I brought home an al pastor taco and two jackfruit carnitas tacos ($3.75 each), the kale salad ($7.95), and some extra salsa. I didn't taste any of the food myself, but she loved it all and said it was five stars all the way.

Met up with my friends here for a few reasons.... I'm Vegan, we needed somewhere where pets can hangout with us and it was pretty much between where we live. Please note "pet friendly" doesn't mean you can bring pets inside even just to order food....technically that is the law even though some places let you order and leave with food if you bring a pet.... They have a back small courtyard area to eat and you can bring your dogs out that way....I got a breakfast burrito and it was really good and I would highly recommend that as a choice to eat....my friends got tacos, ramen and another got the breakfast burrito as well.... Everything was really good and what I wanted....I'm glad I finally made it out to try this place....even if you aren't Vegan give it a chance!

Omg omg omg, super duper fantastically delicious! My friend and I popped in for lunch because I remember hearing about the Crack tacos. We ended up ordering and sharing: 1. Pozole verde - I wanted a whole vat it's so yum. Didn't need the lime squeeze but it lifted it because it had so much in it. 2. Crack tacos - Oh man it's been a while but they taste like jack in the crack tacos I remember lol #nostalgia 3. Sopes w/carnitas and asada - I'm a sucker for a good sope. Hard to beat the crisp "container" and rich creamy and crunchy fillings. 4. Animaless fries - ok hello seasoned fries! Perfect replica creamy deliciousness. 5. Chilequiles - this is how I judge a spot and A1! I had a lil leftover which was amazing the next day, whoohoo It was a weekday lunch so there was some street spots on Commonwealth, plus plenty in the lot but I can see it getting busy. We ordered on the screen where you order yourself and sat in the back where they brought us the food. The tables and chairs in the back have decent spacing. Definitely will return if I'm in the area

Sooooo good!!!!! This was my second time coming here. My husband's first time. I was so excited to come back! The food here is amazing! One of the best vegan food restaurants. I absolutely love the Calibaerito (cali burrito vegan style). It is so filling and delicious! It's loaded with lots of fries. Next time I will do extra cheese on the burrito. I also ordered the supreme fries. Those were huge with a ton of fries! I did asada for the fries and the Cali burrito. The supreme fries were top notch! So good!! You just have to eat it fast before the fries get soggy lol I also tried an Al pastor taco. It was okay. I don't think I like the Al pastor meat. I'd order a taco again, but do the asada meat for protein. My husband had the mushroom burger and animal style French fry. He loved both. The animal style French fry was a huge hit for him. He enjoyed the mushroom burger too. This was a win all around! Service was good. They are very friendly and kind people. I love this place! We will be back. :)

A friend had recommended this spot a few weeks ago and we recently went to check it out. The place was rather small inside, but they have a really cute patio in the back with plenty of extra seating. I've never had vegan Mexican food before but this place hit the spot, everything was SO good. Fast and very friendly service too. Can't wait to visit again next time I'm in the area.

Had to make the trek out here to try the Jax Crispy Tacos, wanted to see if I could relive my youth (the days when my body could take a beating with greasy food and I was ignorant of the horrors of factory farming). Glad to say the tacos delivered, I had no stomach pain, and my conscience is clear! Had the tacos and some animaless fries. Spouse got the Cali-Bae burrito. Food was good, service was great. Knocking off one star because they could not tell me for sure if any desserts were soy-free, as their book with ingredients only says "dairy free milk". Please get more specific and I'll change my rating. Soy is such a common allergen that not knowing can put some at risk.

Pretty good spot for an all-vegan Mexican eatery! I got the Mexigogi fries which had a lot of flavor and they didn't skimp on anything! The portion size was big enough to last me 2 meals. The fries were well balanced between crispy and fluffy. The vegan bulgogi was slightly sweet, as bulgogi should be! They perhaps could've given a little more of the vegan cheese and other sauce, but overall it was good! This past Sunday afternoon there was a very sweet woman who said it was her 2nd day on the job and she provided great customer service! Very happy and quick to help!

We wanted to eat somewhere with fast food service and saw this place that looked promising. I'm not a big fan of vegan food but I ordered the California burrito which includes French fries inside. They offer mild chili salsa to add to the burrito and I must say the food was very tasty. The fries are nice and crispy and the flavoring is so good. There are plenty of selfie opportunities inside and outside the restaurant.

i absolutely love chicana vegana and ive been back about 4-5 times, their fries are so saucy crispy and LOADED UP their fries are more seasoned and crispy than other places, or at least this recent batch. i personally was a little underwhelmed this time since the previous times the portion was way bigger. the toppings were really seasoned though, that jackfruit was absolutely spectacular and amazing. inside the store i think the ac was broken so it was really hot and a bit uncomfortable, however the wonderful server was so kind and she explained every item to us with so much patience haha, definitely appreciate that!

You know I'm not a vegan but this place is actually really really good. My favorite was the carnitas tacos. It tasted almost like the real thing. The French fries for mexgogi fries were so crispy! And I tried the chile de arbol hot sauce and it was quite tasty and has a nice kick . The place itself was small but quite cute. And the service was quick and efficient.

If all vegan food tasted this good, I would stop eating meat today! The Mexigogi fries are a must! The fries are crispy on the outside, soft, on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. The combination of sweet, spicy, and salty will have you dancing in your chair. My daughter ordered the Cali Bae Rito with carne asada, which was equally scrumptious. The old man couldn't decide what to get, so he ordered a taco sampler and tried all of their proteins. His favorite was the asada. This man is a natural born carnivore, yet there he was, raving about the tacos as he inhaled them. The horchata is sweet and tasty, and though it doesn't hit like the traditional drink, it's unique and pairs well with their ultra spicy orange salsa. Trust me, we love HOT salsa, and Chicana Vegana's is beyond hot. I recommend asking for it on the side and using it as a dipping sauce for those fries! Without a doubt, we will be back! Tip: Bring a sweater if dining in. Apparently vegan food needs to be served and eaten in Arctic temperatures. Also, it's a tiny restaurant with very limited seating, so I'd avoid busy times if you're looking to dine in. read more

Food and service are great, but not a good spot if you're vegan for the environment! I am always disappointed to see vegan restaurants that aren't doing their part to be green, which is a big part of veganism! Plastic cutlery, I was given three paper napkins for one meal, plastic containers and styrofoam water cups?! Not to mention that nasty cheap pink soap in the bathroom which has glycerine in it that is most likely from an animal source (distributer will not verify either way), hence not vegan! Again, the food was very good, and service was excellent, so if environmental issues aren't big for you, I would recommend. However I personally would not go back until I knew that had made some major changes in terms of sustainability. read more

Been meaning to try this place and had a burger craving. After walking around downtown Fullerton and discovering that THERE ARE NO BURGER PLACES! In downtown Fullerton remembered that their sign says burgers. So here I am. Decided on the hibiscus drink to start since they don't have root beer. Had a wild west impossible burger with fries. You can get the beyond burger if you prefer, but I think the impossible cooks better as a burger. It hit the spot. Going to have to try some other things some other time, but that'll have to wait. The service was great, thank you to the cashier for being very helpful to a new customer. I will be back, and recommend this place, which would be perfect if they had root beer! read more

I realllllyyyyy wanted to love this place, unfortunately I just couldn't. The service was quick and the employees were friendly but the quality of the asada nachos didn't taste completely fresh and flavorful. The chips were somewhat stale tasted as if they had been cooked a day or two prior, the guacamole didn't seem to have any seasoning in it, and the meat was relatively dry. Seeing as though everything was always pre made and sitting over food warmers to be assembled this could have been the reason why so maybe this will change in the future but for now I'll have to pass. We also ordered the loaded fries but it seemed to have the same taste, very minimal seasoning on fries, dry meat and bland guac. Super disappointed but am definitely willing to try them again in the future to see if any improvements have been made. read more

It's hard to believe that this place is vegan as vegan cheese is usually a tough sell, but this place is amazing!! I highly recommend the burgers. We tried the Hotty and the Shroomsteak this time. We also upgraded our fries to Animaless fries and the Chili fries. The price was a bit steep, but it was worth every penny. I don't think I'll be going back to InNOut ever again. Thanks, Chicana! Very good vegan style Mexican food ! I came here and ordered 2 items: Jackfruit street tacos - Jackfruit , pics de gallo, spicy sauce, vegan cheese and veggies. It looks and tastes so much like meat it shocked me. You feel like you are eating shredded chicken or pulled pork. Shrimp tacos - tacos made with vegan shrimp, grilled veggies and a sweet and spicy salsa. The tacos are very good, a little small .. but amazing flavor. I am very impressed with the food and I will definitely be coming back. This is probably your best bet for vegan food in Fullerton. read more

Chicana Vegana one of my all time vegan spots. I've been able to enjoy them since they were food truck. Then the quickly opened a store front in my hometown I was so happy. But quickly chicana has amazing food, amazing people, and a clean environment. When I want to put non-vegans on some good vegan food this is one of the only spots I'll take them. The owner is also very sweet. Try the tacos, burritos, chili fries ,nachos, their loaded fries and omg the sopes AMAZING !! And their hot sauce is actually hot, thank you for that!! read more

Absolutely delicious, I love this place. I had the Wild West burger with chili fries and definitely not the healthiest but it satisfied my craving. This is a cozy restaurant with nice decor in the heart of downtown Fullerton. It's very clean and the staff are friendly. I would certainly retain and recommend my friends to come try it. read more

I got the Cali dreamin' burger with animaless fries and OMG it was sooo delicious! So happy I finally found a plant based replacement for in n out. They are so spot on with the flavors of everything. The bacon substitute they use is perfect and paired on a brioche bun made it even better. Can't wait to try everything else on the menu because I know it's going to be delicious as well. read more

Quite good place for Vegan food. Tried wet burrito with Al Pastor. Their side hot sauce is a killer. The vegan meat itself tested pretty tangy. Will definitely come back. Must try! One thing I personally do not like about this restaurant is them using everything throw and use, even for dine-in. Plastic cutlery, paper dish etc. Just hate to see a lot of garbage getting created everyday from each and every dish they serve on premise for in person dining. Would be great to upgrade to proper silverware to reduce waste. read more

As we my family and I walked in on the weekend we're greeted by the most nicest young lady they gave us all kinds of options on how to order and what was to our liking. I ordered the patty melt which was in my opinion one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life. The spice that it had was perfect and everything that was in it was delicious. My wife got the nachos which was equally so delicious. These were amazing to say the least. Both my kids got burritos that were so delicious. Their green salsa is to die for. I wish I would've ordered some to go. The cleanliness of this restaurant is amazing. You can totally tell that these people take pride in their restaurant and just talking to them you can feel their love for what they're doing.I highly recommend trying this place you will not be disappointed!! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Jasmine H.

Chicana Vegana was founded on compassion and love for quality food. As a Mexican-American I loved all food inspired by growing up around the California coast. What I never knew was that I can still enjoy all of these great dishes without the cruelty and with all the taste. I went vegan and created Chicana Vegana to share the amazing food I could recreate. Now my entire familia is vegan! Its been an amazing journey changing our lives and inspiring others to do the same! We found in our personal lives, the ability to embrace a cruelty-free diet while also consuming amazingly delicious food. Well, now we want to share our tasty discoveries with our community while sharing the idea that you never have to compromise compassion and taste.

Excited to try this place after seeing high praise reviews. I ordered the shroom melt. I asked for it to be cut since my BF and I are sharing. I was given a plastic knife. The cashier said 'no,' but gave me a plastic knife. I let her know that that won't work and I asked her if she could ask the kitchen to cut it for me. She asked the kitchen. The chef came out and said 'no because it is on a bun.' I really don't understand, but I didn't want to press the matter further. My BF lives close by, so we ended up taking it to-go and cutting it at his place. The whole thing seems absurd to me. The food was tasty, but it was a burger and not a sandwich melt. Given that, I have had good vegan burgers at any burger gastropub. I really wanted to like this place, but was put off by the poor customer service and not a true melt sandwich. read more

Finally got around to trying their breakfast burrito and upgraded to their egg a la Mexicana. Oh my did I make the right choice, I devoured that burrito in no time. Make sure you check their website as it sells out. Every time I come here I find myself dancing while eating. Not sure if it's because of their awesome music and vibe or just how delicious their food is. The cashiers and service is also always on par. One of the best spots around ! Westerns are our favorite burgers but all of their food is delicious you seriously can't go wrong. If I don't get the western we get the nachos or al pastor tacos ! They put two onion rings which in my opinion doesn't need two because the western is so big already .
